He let out a soft groan. He would rather had skipped it, but knowing the good doctor, she’d lock him in until he’d allowed it. He started with his upper body armor, pulling away the helmet and setting it aside be working at his gauntlets and gloves. Soon, he’d managed to get off everything buy the chest piece, making short work of it as well. “I may.” He murmured as he slowly pushed off the bed, slowly pushing himself into a standing postion. He fiddled with the thigh guards for a moment and finally stripped them off. The wound had been right below his thigh guard, almost on his knee. He bent slowly bent, pulling and tugging at the armor, his wounded leg quivering under the weight. “Catch me, my leg may give out.” He murmured.
“Oh don’t be a baby” Emily responded to his groan “It’s only a little check up!” She organized her cart, watching him out of the corner of her eye. “It’s not like I have to cut you open and take some cancerous tumor out. At least I hope not, knock on wood!”
She had sharp ears and when he asked for her help she was over in only a moment, standing patently in front of him, arms at her sides but very much prepared should his leg give out. “You know I could get that for you” The offer was more out of politeness than anything, internally she was very curious as to how well Locus functioned with an injury like this.

“This kid is insane, man.” “Get your education, don’t forget from whence you came, and the world is gonna know your name.” “And there’s a million things I haven’t done.” “But just you wait.” “You gotta fend for yourself.” “That depends, who’s asking?” “I’m at your service, sir.” “I have been looking for you.” “I’m getting nervous.” “I may have punched him.” “He looked at me like I was stupid. I’m not stupid.” “So how’d you do it?” “Can I buy you a drink?” “Don’t let them know what you’re against or what you’re for.” “Fools who run their mouths off wind up dead.” “If you stand for nothing, ____, what’ll you fall for?” “Who is this kid? What’s he gonna do?” “I am not throwing away my shot!” “____, I like you a lot.” “I will lay down my life if it sets us free!” “And when our children tell our story… they’ll tell the story of tonight.” “Raise a glass to the four of us.” “There’s nothing like summer in the city!” “Oh my god. Tear this dude apart.” “They’re playing a dangerous game.” “It’s hard to listen to you with a straight face.” “I’d rather be divisive than indecisive.” “When you’re gone, I’ll go mad!” “Can I be real a second?” “Your reputation precedes you, but I have to laugh.” “Dying is easy, young man. Living is harder.” “Why are you telling me this?” “I’m so into you!” “I’m just sayin’, if you really loved me, you would share him!” “I just might regret that night for the rest of my days.” “I’ll never forget the first time I saw your face.” “Love doesn’t discriminate between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes and we keep loving anyway.” “Death doesn’t discriminate between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes and we keep living anyway.” “We rise and we fall and we break and we make our mistakes.” “And if there’s a reason I’m still alive when everyone who loves me has died, I’m willing to wait for it.” “I’m not standing still, I am lying in wait.”
HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU ABLE TO HIT THAT HIGH NOTE AU
- (@jean-bo-peep)
Her words only added more confusion. Why bring it up, but then not explain it? Sometimes he wondered about her mental health, but she knew what she was doing when it came to anything medical, and that was honestly enough to keep him from voicing his concerns aloud. Seeing her little cart made him stiffen a bit, covered in an assortment of supplies.
He twitched a bit when her hand ghosted over it, then settling as she started in on cutting away the under suit for better acess. “If need be, I can remove the armor from the area around it, give you more room to work.” He rumbled, watching her work.
He’d never been overly curious about what medics did, but he had to admit, it was interesting to watch while she worked on his leg. It amazed him that she was so captivated by her eork, and to some, freaky.
She was used to peoples.. negative, reactions. Although she trusted that Locus wouldn’t make some stupid decision that ended up with a needle in the wrong place she had had more than one patent who’d managed that.
“That would be wonderful! I’ve been meaning to bother you about being behind on your physical, so we can just go ahead and get that knocked out too!” She sat the knife back on her cart.
“Are you going to need any assistance?” She’d seen the way he was walking, it might be too painful for him to get out of his armor himself. She moved to prepare the external antihistamine, ready to help if he needed her.
Her first comment earned a grunt as he followed her slowly into the room, each step earning a sharp intake of breath from him. Her second earned a noise that could have been considered a small, dry chuckle.
“Good.” He murmured. Settling gently onto the table. Her next words brought confusion to him.
“Who?” He asked, no familiar with the name.
“Don’t worry your little head about it” She said, waving her hand back and forth dismissively, it didn’t seem worth it at the time to explain classic literature the mercenary. “We have more pressing matters at hand then literature”
She moved to stand in front of him, pulling her cart of supplies with her for immediate access.
“Namely this little laceration!” Excitement practically dripped from her voice as she ghosted her hand over the wound. The first thing she went for was a small serrated tactical knife to cut away the parts of his under-suit that where restricting her from doing her job.
He leaned against the door frame, supporting himself with one hand, the other now covering the wound. “I’ve been shot Doctor. If there weren’t blood, I’d be worried.” Locus rumbled, mood sour, that much was clear.
“I take it you can fix this?” He asked, gesturing to the wound, forcing himself to peel his hand away so that she could get a better look. The sooner he was done here the better, Locus had never been comfortable in the infirmary, even more so when be was here for himself.
“As far as I can tell, it’s nothing major.” He pointed out, not car oh no over that fact that she was the real doctor there.
“Some-body’s grum-py” The doctor sing songed, gesturing for him to come inside, putting his chart on the cart beside the nearest examination table and beginning to fill it out with very very specific information.
"I'd be worried if I said no to your question" Emily laughed at her little joke "Of course I can fix it, silly" She was waiting for him to hobble over and sit on the examination table.
"You know the last time el Gringo Viejo was shot there was no blood" She commented, abandoning the chart in favor of preparing the supplies she'd need.

He’d been looking for Grey for a while, only to have someone later point him towards her room. That was fine though, he’d hit her up there. It wasn’t important bu he did want to share something with her.
Bow chicka bow wow. Tucker grinned at his own dirty joke and opened the door leading into the Doctor’s room.
“Hey Grey I want to tell you-”
“oh…” She wasn’t dressed, at all!
“So what’s cookin’ good lookin’?” It really wasn’t the time to be busting out lines but he had no impulse control whatsoever.
At that moment, he was not sure if staring at the naked Doctor had been worth it. It was quite a sight, but at the same time that punch of hers sent him reeling, and god damn did it HURT.
Tucker held his jaw, surprised written all over his face as he stared in the direction of Grey’s room.
The door to her room snapped shut. She pulled on a very large shirt and some shorts both the first things she saw, and quite possibly the most comfortable things she owned. And a moment later the opened again.
“Can I help you Tucker?” The doctor asked, all smiles and sunshine as per usual, and not at all sorry that she punched him.
@euthaxasia who IMed for a Starter
Locus grunted as the soldiers helped him from the hog, the larger Merc leaning against them and limping heavily, blood dripping from his thigh. His hand was coated in the substance, as was his entire leg.
He would have taken care of the wound himself, but the only person at the Outpost that had clearance to the medical supplies was the resident Mad Doctor, Emily Gray. So he had no choice but to allow her to look it over, he had the feeling she’d never let him leave the infirmary otherwise.
Felix had gotten a lucky shot, the bullet tearing across the side of his thigh and leaving a large, bloody gouge in his leg. He limped into the infirmary, clenching his teeth against the pain in his leg. “Dismissed, I can handle myself from here.” He rumbled, waving the soldier off.
Post battle held a certain, euphoria for Emily Grey. No, she wasn't a fighter, but the influx of injured soldiers kept her busy and left her feeling pleasantly distracted. The chaos of the medical ward was home to her.
Grey was torn away from her little hub of chaos by a panicky scout who had been sent just ahead. Something about Locus and a bullet wound and a lot of blood and Emily was concerned that the poor kid was going to faint right there on her not so much anymore pristine bay floor.
She met him at the door, a chart in one hand ready to be filled out, and the other open to help if he needed it although the way he was acting suggested that his pride may not accept her offer. ”Oh my, that is a lot of blood, and here I thought Laurence was just exaggerating!”

Grey hadn't meant to do it. Really, it was an accident.
She had been undressing in her room, her ‘shift’ over meaning that she wasn’t needed at that particular moment and hopefully wouldn't be needed for a while having just pealed off the stuffy under suit of her armor she was standing entirely naked in front of her fairly sparse closet.
That’s when Tucker walked in. That’s when Tucker walked in and scared the shit out of the nearly fearless doctor, that was when without a second thought Doctor Emily Grey, genius woman, punched him square in the jaw.
Hamilton sentence starter (part three)
“The price of my war is not a price that they are willing to pay.” “I thought that we made an arrangement when you went away.” “What comes next?” “Do you know how hard it is to lead?” “Do you have a clue what happens now?” “It’s much harder when it’s all your call.” “You’re on your own…” “You have my eyes…” “You have your mother’s name…” “When you came into the world you cried and it broke my heart.” “I’m dedicating everyday to you.” “Domestic life was never quite my style.” “When you smile, you knock me out I fall apart and I thought I was so smart.” “We’ll bleed and fight for you.” “We’ll make it right for you.” “We’ll give the world to you and you’ll blow us all away.” “Yeah you’ll blow us all away, someday.” “Pride is not the word I’m looking for.” “My father wasn’t around..” “I’ll be around for you.” “I’ll do whatever it takes.” “How to account for his rise to the top?” “Why do you assume you’re the smartest in the room?” “Soon that attitude may be your doom!” “Why do you write like your running out of time?” “I’ve seen injustice in the world and I’ve corrected it.” “I know I talk too much, I’m abrasive.” “You’re succinct, persuasive.” “We have to start somewhere!” “And what if you’re backing the wrong horse?” “How do you write like tomorrow won’t arrive?” “How do you write like you need it to survive?” “They are asking me to lead.” “I am doing the best I can…” “To leave behind the world you know…” “But the sun comes up and the world still spins!” “So what’d I miss?” “I guess I basically missed the late eighties…” “I traveled the wide, wide world and came back to this…” “What’s goin’ on?” “Can you get us out of the mess we’re in?” “I guess I better think of something to say.”
