i feel like jaykit never rly like, showed Big Affection towards his parents as a kit bc he just wasnt like that, lionkit and hollykit would SCREAM “I LOVE YOU I HAVE THE BEST PARENTS EVER” to squirrelflight & brambleclaw at the most random times but jaykit was always the quiet, sits next to squirrelflight and cuddles into her belly but says nothing, type

until one morning brambleclaw wakes up to very large blue eyes two inches from his face, and hes just like “JAYKIT wha-”

lionkit was SUUUUUUPER clingy to squirrelflight & brambleclaw tbh. squirrelflight would come ot the nursery to lay with her kits for awhile and lionkit would clamber on her like “MOM I HAD A DREAM THAT YOU COULD FLY i thought it was kind of cool. daisy and ferncloud told me you cant fly but i know” lionkit leans in close “tht you can do anything.”

he’d just attach himself to her side at all times and constantly be like, right there, whenever squirrelflight is having a conversation. and when brambleclaw comes back from a patrol? its all over. lionkit runs full speed right into his legs and brambleclaw is wincing like “kid youre going to hurt your head-” while lionkit makes his home right there underneath brambleclaws belly, and will not move. its the softest part of his dad and he protects it viciously. hes so attached to them and its kind of adorable

and HOLLYKIT loved to copy her parents whenever they did like literally anything. hollykit would just follow brambleclaw around, if he was sitting giving orders she’d copy his exact movements and sit right next to them, she’d follow squirrelflight and take notes and copy whatever she was doing

she was pretty much like a little shadow……………..quiet sometimes, but most of them time she’d just look up at brambleclaw in like amazement and he’d be like “what’s wrong, holly berry?”

“i want to be as good of a deputy as you when you get old and have to sleep in the elders den for the rest of time”

goldenflower calls brambleclaw ‘bambi’ bc thats her nickname for him and always has been…….at first shes pretty much the only one to call him that but later on thunderclan picks up on it and starts using it…..sorreltail jsut goes “hey bambi who’s going on the dawn patrol” and brambleclaw is like “thornclaw of course” and shes just like “k cool thank u bambi!” and its only when she leaves that hes like heY WAIT

Jayfeather bumps his shoulder against his flank; he’s never been tall enough to reach Brambleclaw’s full height, and Brambleclaw can’t help but purr at it.

“It might seem daunting,” Jayfeather meows, gesturing to the starry scenery in front of them, a forest so lush and beautiful that Brambleclaw can’t help but gawk at it. “But it won’t be that bad; this is easy compared to what we’ve just gone through.”

Brambleclaw nods, gulping at the sight of StarClan’s lush forest; it’s only been a day since the great battle that claimed so, so many precious lives in ThunderClan - it was hard for Brambleclaw to muster up the will to come here, but Jayfeather insisted.
