Typically, his phone is on silent - otherwise, the device tends to annoy the living hell out of him and there aren’t too many people trying to contact him in the first place. In other words, it’s not worth it.

How he’s wound up looking after someone that’s just been robbed, Leon hasn’t the slightest idea. In fact, a part of him wants to tell the other that he’s not home - that he doesn’t have time to set aside for this, for lack of a better word, bullshit. However, for some reason or other, that doesn’t happen. Instead, he does leave the door unlocked and kicks his feet up in the living room. 

It’s bound to be a long day. "Check your fucking messages!" He doesn’t shout - rather, it’s an attempt to be heard through the door that he reluctantly twists the knob to and huffs behind. "Said it was unlocked. What the hell happened, anyway?"

Check his messages? Ah, he'd completely forgotten the existence of his phone in his hurry to get here, so in the time it takes for Leon to travel from wherever he was to the door, Harris indeed scrolls through the messages he'd missed. "I think my emoji express my feelings in a way words just can't capture, personally," is the first thing that comes out of his mouth when the door opens. But moving on...

"Oh, sorry 'bout that though, but this is urgent business. My apartment was broken into to, and at first I thought just some things were stolen. But then I checked my bank account later, and well all my money was just not there!" He taps his chin to recall the circumstance again. "And I was I told it all got transferred when I called, so... I'm kind of broke." Yeah that pretty much sums up the situation

With a satisfied breath, Harris then proceeds to walk past Leon.

"Now it's time for me to go crash on your couch, okay?"

Harris is already out the door, on his phone, tapping away at the screen with the distinctive storm of clicks filling the silent air as he sends the following messages.

To: Leon From: Harris [msg]: im poor!! ( ≧Д≦) [msg]: my apartment was robbed and well [msg]: now its all gone!! (╯︵╰,) [msg]: i mean its ALL gone [msg]: all the money i kept there [msg]: like poof! gone (▰︶︹︺▰) [msg]: can i come over???? [msg]: im on my way to ur place rn (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ [msg]: 。：゜(；´∩｀；)゜：。

This should do for a heads up. Harris isn't exactly sure what Leon can do for him, and nor does he plan on asking for money or anything like that. But this is a time of great need so the general idea is that he should head over to his closest companion's to cry to. He's not sure if he has the right to call them friends yet though, so he'll go without whatever suits the moment.

Luckily his car had been untouched, and the way to Leon's remains an easy drive from his apartment. Parking the car as quickly as he can, Harris makes his way hastily towards the front door. Ringing the door bell (once) and knocking, Harris voices his concerns through the partition.

"Leeeeon...! What do you do when you're poor!?" Legitimate questions he needs the answers to.

     It’s not something expected, but his words do sound a few alarms in Aridai’s head. Why would an obviously rich young adult ever doubt his popularity? If you’ve got the cash to pay for it, local fame can be taken for granted; a bunch of fake friends coming in as a gratis. He steals one more glance at the wallet in his hand, wondering about its actual contents, then turns back to Harris, keeping the item out of his immediate reach.

     "That’s how it works, doesn’t it? You’re only noticed when you aren’t trying to be,” the friendly tone of his voice doesn’t change, but the smile disappears as soon as Harris tries to reach for his possession, eyes narrowing in thought. He doesn’t allow him to get it, obviously — it’s now stuffed into his backpocket safely, away from Harris’ hands. Alas, Aridai doesn’t practice returns.

     ”Well, here’s the thing. I’m trying to teach you a lesson, right? You ever been to school?” It’s a rhetorical question, so he doesn’t bother waiting for an answer, simply continuing without any concern for the other’s opinion. “You won’t learn anything without a little suffering included. Except instead of losing your sanity over books, you’ll lose some money. It’s fine — you can come along if you want to. Maybe I’ll give it back when I’m done for the night.”

     Or maybe not.

At first glance, the male before him is nothing but a friendly passerby. But there's a shift in that amiable attitude, and a sudden feeling of uncertainty towards his premature assumptions forces Harris to reevaluate his companion. Aah, he's probably... not as nice as he'd first appeared. The observation registers immediately, but nonetheless it's tossed to the back of his mind without a second thought. His care lies elsewhere.

Hand outstretched, grasping only air that soon just as easily slips through his fingers as well, the blond blinks. So he's not... going to give it back? Harris listens to the justification, if it could be called that, with a curious stare, thinking seriously about the analogy. There's logic in it, and he can't really deny what 's being said. But then again, the reasoning isn't his priority either.

The moment the idea of accompanying him is brought up though, the nagging feeling of apathy towards his lost money is quickly washed away by a strange sense of fulfillment. It's not like he carries his whole life's fortune in his pocket, so if he never gets it back well he can shrug it off. Instead, a person to travel around with for a few more at hours at least is more than enough to wipe away all his inhibitions and replace them with a smile.

"Well-- alright, if you say so, I'd be happy to tag along. Though where're we heading?" Hmm, backtrack a bit. "Actually, you're the one with the money, I guess that makes it more 'lead the way!'" Anywhere should be fine; he knows this city pretty well and there aren't many places that repulse him. But he supposes there's still room for defiance of his expectations.

     It’s not unusual for him to be out this late; it’s considerably easier to steal after the sunset, streets — while still thickly crowded — full of people hurrying back home. Admittedly, spotting a target worth of his time in this sort of mess used to be a problem, but over the years, he had made up a few, simple criteria a person needs to meet in order to catch his interest. Sometimes, he goes home with nothing, spotting no potential, rich idiots, but tonight seems luckier than usual: a target located in a few, short minutes. 

     The rest is routine: sneak up to them from behind, reach into their pocket, pull. It’s no different this time around; he’s done in mere seconds, slim fingers curling around the thick wallet. It’s only when he’s ready to leave, casually circling the blond to get ahead of him, does he turn and sneak a glance at his face: eyes flashing with recognition. He’s seen him around Leon before — knows his name, never took interest enough to find out more.

     If he’s rich, though…

     Turning on his heel, he raises the hand gripping the wallet to wave it in front of the blond man’s eyes, lips curving into a grin.

     ”You really need to be more careful, you know? There’s a lot of people waiting to take advantage of someone like you around here,” like me, he wants to add but doesn’t, his expression and tone perfectly innocent.

As usual, his day had been stuffed with back to back activities. It's tiring, and Harris stretches his arms with a yawn as he walks, but he doesn't particularly feel like going home yet. Maybe he'll go looking for someone who looks nice enough to hang around, even if just for a few hours. It's getting late, but surely there's someone still wandering the streets like him and willing to chat.

Absorbed in musings of who he may come across, Harris remains blissfully unaware of a person actually approaching him. In fact, his attention is too far-off to even register the sight of his own wallet suddenly in front of his face, blinking at it dumbly while the gears turn in his head.

"...oh, my wallet!" Everything clicks and a lightbulb goes off. "Really?  I was just thinking of going to look for someone, so people looking for me never crossed my mind." What a considerate guy. Flashing a smile, the blond moves to retrieve his possession, because surely the point of taking it was only to make an example and nothing more.
