Queen Elena of Avalor; Long May She Reign!

I love her coronation dress, so I tried my hand at drawing it! (Click on images for better quality!)

Elena Of Avalor. I know she’s not a film leading lady, but I don’t care. Plus she’s voiced by Aimee Carrero who is thus a #Disney Princess *and* She-Ra, which is pretty impressive.

So I realized this earlier today, and now you all have to realize it with me.

So… I think Elena’s dress might just be like this now? In the past it’s only ever changed color when she has a power active, and the silver accents and embroidery always glow when that happens, like so.

But after the big reversal magic when the scene cuts back to Elena, the dress isn’t glowing and the embroidery is a solid gold, indicating that her power isn’t active anymore. But instead of changing back to red, it stays like this for the rest of the scene. Notably her Takaína powers still work, as she can use Esteban’s staff, so the magic in the dress didn’t just get burnt out on the reversal. It’s just white instead of red now.

Personally I like the idea of her dress defaulting to white permanently. Losing the iconic red with this silhouette indicates the end of an era as Elena goes from princess to queen, and opens up the possibilities for a new iconic queen dress. It also speaks to just how strongly she felt her emotions in that scene, and how powerful her magic was, that she permanently altered the dress.
