Great talk. Thanks @EveryLastMorsel for the link. I enjoyed the video, and it has me feeling like the type of farming I want to do actually could help the greater good, which is a nice feeling to have. I enjoyed this comment from a listener:Â
I think the main people who wouldn’t like [his theory] are people who don’t want to lose the urgency around forcing everyone to abandon fossil fuels; people who don’t want humans to eat meat; people who want humans to die off instead of getting fed; and people who are invested in a competing model for combating desertification. Have I left anyone out?
Especially the part about “people who don’t want humans to eat meat.”

There is only one way in this world to achieve true happiness, and that is to express yourself with all your skill and enthusiasm in a career that appeals to you more than any other. In such a career, you feel a sense of purpose, a sense of achievement. You feel you are making a contribution. It is not work.

Each summer, the Firebelly Design studio closes for 10 days at the end of June to hold their annual Camp Firebelly. Students and recent graduates apply to take part, live at the studio and work with the Firebelly team tackling social issues and causes that can be aided through good design and focused efforts.
Our friends at CampFirebelly recently completed a creative side project constructing an alphabet as part of the You Are Beautiful campaign. With guidance from the You Are Beautiful crew, materials, space and build time offered from Rebuilding Exchange, each “camper” and Firebelly team member muscled up to construct one letter. The two days spent planning, learning and making yielded gorgeous results that will be installed in the public space.
Firebelly Design is responsible for all of our fantastic new branding here at the RX and we are proud and thankful to work together with them to spread such a positive message. Keep up the good work Firebelly!!!

You may have heard us touting the Naked Neck as the breed we use here on the farm and not been exactly sure what that means. A little over 6 months ago I was in your shoes. I had been raising a few backyard chickens, and had heard now and again “pure breed” or “heritage/heirloom” and without...
