The State Street Corporation put a statue on Wall Street to promote "the next generation of women leaders." Now accused of pay discrimination, the firm denies wrongdoing but will pay $5 million.

@frostscience has partnered with @feedingsfl to collect donations for those affected by Hurricane Irma (drop off dates are 9/15-10/1). Here are a couple items (swipe right) I found on sale/clearance (toilet paper, peanut butter, cutlery, cereal, deodorant, canned food corn, box soup) at Winn Dixie for $23.03. The cashier said her home sustained minor damage, but her sister in Naples has no running water, no power (won't be back on until mid-October). Also that since her sister has to work, she can't leave. I was without power for 5 days, but had water & that was rough. Irma Update

Mr & I lost power briefly on Friday & decided to drive north before the storm.

We initially found a hotel for one night, that was able to extend us until Tuesday.

I woke up last night at 01:45 to the sounds of howling winds; fell asleep around 03:00. My 06:30 alarm woke us up (whoops), so we are now up.

It’s still raining & the wind is still howling, but has subsided.

The hotel still has power, & we are safe.

Checking news, couple of cranes toppled in downtown Miami & the JW near my office has waist deep water.

It has been a very stressful week & this is just the beginning.

I was in FL when Wilma hit in 2005. This storm is worst, so fingers crossed we only lose power. Currently looking at leaving the state, flights/trains/buses are sold out. We may drive to Orlando & see if we can catch something up there. Not sure. Worst case scenario, we can go to the shelter.

People looked at me weird when I booked a 2018 cruise in January 2017, but I checked this morning (August 2017) & most of the Ocean view rooms are booked.

This is the room we picked, it is a 2C room (lowest balcony class) but is one of 6 rooms on the ship that has double balcony. Very excited!

I took PTO today to get some (life) things done.

But all I want to do is sleep...
