I MIGHT START BEING ACTIVE AGAIN
The past months have been really difficult again and I've been trying to fix and cope with a few things but I'm going to try and write all my feelings away. I also made a new twitter acc that I'll link to this acc! My username is unsteadyx , their just short thoughts and maybe edits with the poems/proses I've posted here, so go ahead and check that out if you want.

Why make a blog about feminism?
I first thought about making this blog when me and my classmates were told to make an advocacy about the social issues in my country as a project for our social studies class. The first thing that went in my mind was feminism and I wanted it to feature all the things like catcalling, gender stereotypes and double standards, how feminism should cover women as a whole and how feminism is all about equal rights and how it is also somehow beneficial to men; these problems are things that society today deem to be small problems. I went up to all my group mates for the project and told them that I wanted to make the advocacy about feminism and they just completely shut me off right after I said the word “feminism”. They told me that the reason why they didn’t want to make the advocacy about feminism is that most of our gender statistics (according to them) were high and they also said that women are now treated fairly because they have a place in our congress. I tried to explain to them the concepts of feminism and how it was relevant to our country’s history but they still in a way refused to listen. And I look back in our history, specifically the time when the Japanese colonized the Philippines, and the reason I focused on that specific time was because it held a topic that left a mark on me; the title of the topic was comfort women. It’s about 50,000-200,000 women that were abducted and taken to military camps and were raped day and night. They say that most of the comfort women died and the others were left infertile due to sexual trauma and a couple of months after I learned about the comfort women, I came across an article about how in 2007, the japanese government said that there was no evidence to validate the situation. Even if I didn’t fully dig into the whole situation, I was livid at the thought that people tried to cover a tragedy such as this one. And then I thought about why women needed feminism today and why I’m so passionate about it, and it’s because I hear all these catcalls and hear boys sexually fantasizing about girls and how boys as young as age 10 think it’s okay. A lot of men, I’m not saying all of them, treat women like their some kind of sexual prize or item and I loathe that idea or mindset. I respect that people have sexual “needs” but it’s not okay to make someone feel unsafe when they’re walking alone, it’s not okay to make a girl feel unsafe when she’s wearing shorts outside even when it’s really hot, it’s not okay to make rape jokes and to support rape culture, it’s not okay to grope girls, and it’s not okay to use physical or verbal actions to make someone feel harassed. All the little things that you think don’t matter, actually does and I want to help show people that and I want not just girls but also boys express themselves and gain their confidence back.

But maybe there’s one about reality; maybe you’re afraid that all the things in this book might turn out to be real.

You saw it in the way they looked at one another when the other wasn’t looking. They longed for each other; they longed for each other’s arms and the feel of the other’s skin. They longed for the tangles in each other’s hair and marks engraved on the other’s skin. They needed each other and it was one of the most beautiful thing I’ve seen.
