I am so sorry for letting this blog go Into a coma. Stuff was going on, plus I kinda fell out of the VK fandom.

Anyways, I am back now, and I am translating again. I have a bunch of songs I've translated for my friends, generally some Czech folk music and Arashi (yes, you heard right, THOSE Arashi), so I will be probably mostly posting those.

But I, of course, accept requests, plus am always hungry for music recs, so feed me!

Hi EVHWTRANSLATIONS, can I ask you how did you find Nohavica's music? Coincidence thanks YouTube, or some other? I'm from Czechia and know his work. But what is likeable for me, that you or anyone else translated his lyrics to english and thereby it can be, maybe, easier to enable spreading his music around the world

I know this comes a bit late, but here's your answer anyways. I am actually born and bred in Prague, so... yeah. :D I used to translate his songs for my Japanese boyfriend, and since I already have a translation blog, I thought I would post them here as well. All of the translations on this blog are mine, so beware the quality, but feel free to spread the love :3

Some good guy on the radio plays Chick Corea, it's truly jolly, quite as in a mausoleum. I have got bags under my eyes, standing in the queue for mummification, I really don't get touched by the pink daybreak any more. You're talking about what we should be doing, the depressions in our mattresses are slowly cooling down. Everything gets obscured by shadows, whose was it fault that the woodcutter cut in-between us with a adze? Beds split into two sovereign states, the decorations on the wallpapers resemble the frontier barbed wires. It doesn't seem so in the sleep, sleep is a sweet lassitude. I am just spiteful that I was ever in love. I would abolish wires. Cursed hour, the minute, the short moment when things are neither black nor white, when it's not dark, but not daylight either. Liphlich media interview Part 2

Interviewer: Ablahblahblah, tell us something about Maslow mansion...

Kuga: As we became a fast-developing band, I became interested in people's desires. As for us, our strongest desire is "We want to sell more, to be heard more!", but depending on the person, circumstances or country it can be "I want love!", "I want success!", "I want peace!", "I want to eat a feast!" "I want to live!" and so on. I think that everyone has his own personal desire.

So I thought about the various desires and reasons that move each person and tried to make that feelings into a song.

The song itself isn't a mystery, nor it's too straightforward a subject. It's fundamentaly a hymn on humanity in which everyone can apply his own desire when listening and I would be happy if it puts them at ease.

And I want everyone to think "I want to support Liphlich!" while listening to this song.

Taka: The story is interesting, the sound is cool... I want as many people to listen to it as possible. I thought that this piece could become famous and draw a lot of attention to us. That's how much confidence I have in it. The guitar solo is cool as always, so please listen to it as well.

Wataru: This song is excitedly received at lives, but at the same time it unfolds the stage of a "mansion". The tune and the lyrics are kind of comical, plus there are the performers... I want everyone to enjoy it with their ears as well as with their eyes.

Eiki: We managed to get across composer's feelings and goals. And even though it might sound like a rock song, I made the drums sing as in a ballad.
