[News] 170525 Starship says “BOYFRIEND, aims to have a comeback this coming summer” (Official)

Group BOYFRIEND is preparing with the aim of having a comeback this coming summer. 

Their company Starship Entertainment revealed to Tenasia on the 25th “BOYFRIEND is currently in the middle of composing for their new album. They aim to have a comeback this coming summer, but there are no concrete schedules as of yet”. 

With this, BOYFRIEND will be having a comeback in Korea after 2 years since their 4th mini album ‘Boyfriend in Wonderland’ back in 2015. Since then, BOYFRIEND have been gaining popularity both in Korea and overseas through individual activities of musicals, web drama etc and their Japanese promotions and tours. 

On the other hand, BOYFRIEND is celebrating their 6th Anniversary on the coming 26th. Having the comeback news relayed to the fans prior to the upcoming special day increases the fans’ anticipation for it. According to a report from Sports Chosun and Channel A, BOYFRIEND is said to have the comeback in July.

Boyfriend – южнокорейская мальчишеская группа из 6 участников под крылом Starship Entertainment, образовавшаяся в 2011 году. Они – первая мальчишеская группа, в которой есть близнецы. У YG Entertainment сейчас есть группа-дуэт с таким же названием Boyfriend, которая дебютирует под крылом данной компании 26 мая. Эта петиция создана, чтобы остановить YG в использовании имени Boyfriend, которые называются так в течение 6 лет! В корейской поп-музыке название группы – важная отличительная особенность, влияющая на её популярность, продажи и многое другое. Поэтому развлекательная компания Starship должна принять меры.

Starship Entertainment провалились, но они должны подняться и начать действовать, как компания, которая заботится о своих айдолах. Ситуация, когда они в первую очередь обязаны заботиться о группе, подчёркивает отсутствие внимания к Boyfriend. Несмотря на все усилия вернуться и создавать музыку, не было никаких вестей с последнего корейского альбома в 2015 году, который, хоть и был популярен, провалился для компании. Подписание этой петиции означает обращение к развлекательной компании, которая до сих пор не предприняла никаких мер. Если мы отдадим их имя, значит, мы его упустим и, возможно, в будущем группу расформируют, и мы потеряем всё, над чем они так усердно работали.

Я и множество других фанатов переживают, потому что Boyfriend – это группа, которая заставляет улыбаться, лично меня они спасают в самые ужасные моменты жизни. Говорят, что музыка лечит, и их музыка научила меня снова улыбаться.

Hello, all my kpoppers out there!

I don’t know if anyone besides us Bestfriends will see this, but if you do it would mean so much if you could help. 

As you may or may not know, Boyfriend is still a band! And their fans love them so so much, I have been a Bestfriend for six years and it’s been the most loving and rewarding experience on this earth, and I don’t want me or any of us to have to let that go. We have been forgotten a lot over the years, but we never lost our ability for compassion and kindness and the propensity to welcome anyone with open arms. We are truly a fandom who has done everything to emulate those we look up to and to live up to our name.

Recently some news has come out that a new band will be debuting on the say day Boyfriend debuted, and they happen to be going by the same name. I tried very hard to help solve problem internally, but we do not have the numbers that many fandoms do. We do not have a problem with these young children who are debuting, they are young and innocent, so we have no ill feelings towards them. But we are so heartbroken that our Boyfriend has been neglected for literally half the time they’ve been a band. We are tired of not seeing them, we are tired Starship didn’t root for them when they weren’t as popular when they wanted, we are tired because they didn’t fight for their own NAME. This is especially devastating because at this point it feels like their name is all they have left and now that’s been taken away from them. It’s cruel, it’s immoral and dehumanizing. One of our very own band members just is clearly so immensely distraught that there is nothing he can do, and I am distraught too that there’s nothing I can do. But there is something perhaps WE can do. These  boys, AND MAybe I’m biased….they are the six most wonderful, kind, talented, loving people who only from day one wished to spread joy. We can’t just lose them like we are, it’s not fair. I don’t want to go down without a fight but I need everyone I can to help me. It would so much to me, it would mean the world and I would be eternally grateful. Sending this out and hoping it gets read really is the last resort.
