[Muse is on pause.Till RP reopens or a new home is found]
The idea of Ms. Meyers hearing good things about her almost made her laugh out loud. "I've heard better things about you ma-" she stopped talking, what had Ms. Meyers literally just said? "Ahem- My father speaks very highly of you. He says you were one of the best on his team," she explained. "He says I'll learn a lot from working with you, I'm excited to work with you," she smiled as she set the cocktail down and stood a bit straighter for her new boss.
Evan nodded at Alice's comments, remembering back to her brief time working with Alice's father. She had been moving around a lot then, going where the cases would take her and it had built her a reputation, one that seemed to still make an impression. "If you work hard, i'll teach you all you need to know. I'm going to, at times, treat you like a lawyer. You'll be thrown in the deep end and be given your own cases. I will be there to supervise and carry out the tasks that require me to but you'll be doing the leg work. It's the best way to learn."
Evan sat staring at the letter she held in her hand, reading it over and over again. She didn't need to, the moment she read the words on the page they had been memorised but she just couldn't stop staring at it. When she hadn't heard back from the forum she assumed that her legislation has been passed over and that the EAS would stay as an idea that she had to continue fight for. That's not to say she had to stop the fight but the first battle had been won. Evan was stunned, her eyes locked onto the letter, everything else around her drowned out and she didn't even notice the other person approach or speak to her.

Katie McGrath as MORGANA PENDRAGON MERLIN 2.11 The Witch's Quickening
She didn't seem appalled, she didn't even seem to be affected by what he told her, and the blunt way she spoke to him made him nod. This was good, it was a good step. Hell he even appreciated her saying he didn't need to be sorry. So many lawyers had gotten so hung up on the fact that he needed to be sorry, he needed to apologize for what he had done, to beg forgiveness. It was so exhausting.
"Treated like an animal, that's for sure," he mumbled before he lifted the left leg of his trousers to show off the large, and very uncomfortable tracker he had been forced to wear. "They can monitor every move I make. If I get too close to the river even I get a phone call from them asking where I am," he explained. "Do you know where the fresh fish market is?" he asked as he gestured to the fish on the prep area in front of him. "It's on the bloody river," he said with a deep scowl. "Not to mention the practically bi-weekly raids. The amount of money I spend on protein is ridiculous, only for them to take it away whenever they do these raids and never pay me back for it, or return it." he scowled. "I'm basically feeding the feds the best, freshest cuts of meat and taking the hit all because I happen to enjoy a different diet than they do." he ranted. "And it's not like that's all that I eat for gods sake. I'm so sick of them acting like because I'll eat something they won't, it means that's all I eat. I'm not a stereotype. And I've never, never once fed anyone something without them knowing what was in it."
Was the chef getting a little worked up? Maybe. But the frustration had been building inside him until it bubbled over. He felt heat rise in his face and his hands, but with no open flame anywhere it had nowhere to go. He turned and walked to the stove with precision and turned the burner on the lowest setting before he turned and looked back at Evan. "The number of articles, of youtube videos and the podcasts- oh god the bloody podcasts, that make me out to be some sick fuck who feeds people human flesh without their knowledge or consent, it's disgusting, and it comes from the feds continuously talking to the media about doing thorough searches of my restaurant. I have never once kept that here! That was a personal thing, how is it any different than a hunter keeping venison in their freezer? Yes, it's not venison, but it's the same basic principal. And then to try and ruin my career by insinuating that I've done this to people without their consent- it's infuriating." the flame behind him grew more powerful on the stove as his anger rose in his chest. He then took a breath and let it out slowly, and the flame sank back to the low height it had started at. He waved a hand and the fire flew from the stove to his palm, and he seemed to visably relax when it surrounded his hand. He moved his fingers and the flames danced between them before he leaned back against the stove. "So, Ms. Meyers," he said after a moment of staring at the flame and considering what he was going to say next. He brought the hand that was untouched by the fire and ran it through his hair, pushing it back into place. "Can you at least get them the fuck out of my business?"
Evan acknowledged the ankle monitor on his leg. It was standard for convicted felons to have an ankle monitor. A radius was usually predetermined, along with a curfew and it only caused trouble if either of those two things were violated. She had never known them to be so vigilant with it. Borderline obsessed came to mind. The river would be within his radius, they had no reason to be calling, especially when he had a legitimate reason to be there. Evan was baffled that his previous lawyer had let this carry on for as long as it had.
Evan crossed her arms, taking mental notes of everything he said. She could feel his frustration radiating out of him, every part of her felt what he was saying in feeling with each word he spoke. Evan didn't interrupt. She let him vent, get it all of his chest. She got the impression previous lawyers hadn't allowed that. That they did most of the talking and Francis had to sit there, ignored and invisible whilst they told him what to say and do. Half of his complaints could have been avoided by a few calls and filed motions. Evan was initially impressed by his lawyers, getting him off on probation on a crime that caused a stir but now she was just mad. They did all the leg work and then just hung him out to dry with no consideration after the fact.
She watched as he moved to the stove, lighting the flame on the burner, his emotions effecting it. If it wasn't for the fact Evan had already sensed his emotions, the rising flame behind him would have been a give away to how angry and frustrated he was.. She watched his demeanour change as the flames engulfed his palm, it was the calmest she had felt him during their whole conversation. She paused, letting the question linger in the air before she answered. She pushed her self off the counter, taking a few steps towards Francis.
"Mr Rowland, I don't like to make any promises when it comes to my clients cases but what I can promise you is i'm the best lawyer to be fighting in your corner. I can get a few of these issues resolved with a few phone calls this afternoon, so imagine what i can do for you in a few days"
