''If it means getting into trouble with you, I hope I don't stop running my mouth. You fidget too much, it's cute'' Kang Jun admitted, giving a grin to his best friend. It was really the only exception to the rule when it came to Jun's mouth. Like he had admitted to himself earlier, he spoke too much. Mostly things that maybe he shouldn't say, shouldn't admit. He teased too much and sometimes it was things he had just meant to think and not voice. At the end of the day he didn't mind with Tao, if it was his boss - well... she would of slapped him several times. It was a good thing she wasn't here, or anywhere near or in fact.
Kang Jun realised a little too late that he was wrapped in a blanket whilst he was still pretty wet, when they made their trip to the Firefly District - whenever that was - he made sure to remember to grab some blankets and bring them back. He knew that Tao wouldn't be too happy about them being wet, but Jun was just forgetful, nothing he could really do about that.Â
Jun remembered back to the time Tao was talking about. He remembers that it was in particular quite a bad storm and he usually waited for Tao to come over, they would cuddle and fall asleep. It didn't happen very often he would admit but if it did, he could count on Zitao coming over. That time he didn't really know why his dad got so defensive and angry about Tao coming over all the time, he kind of just flipped at Jun and told him that Zitao wasn't allowed to come over anymore when there's a storm happening.
Being that it was his best friend and the type of person Kang Jun was, he didn't listen to him. He snuck out and trotted over to Tao's like nothing was wrong. Jun has always liked the rain, thinking that it is peaceful and it helps him relax. That's usually why he waits it out with Tao, he's calm during one and he makes sure that his best friend feels the same way also.Â
He remembers the laughter that they shared, telling jokes to each other to avoid Tao getting scared. The stories that they told - ones of mystery and adventure. A world where the infection didn't exist and they could go wherever they wanted, just the two of them. It was important for Jun to spend as much time with Tao as was possible. He loved him, at that point it wasn't romantic - that came a year later. He had still loved him unconditionally, it was as if they were meant to be friends for life. He intends to let that be the case now.
It's very difficult to imagine what his childhood would be without Tao, up to the point he disappeared that is. They met at a very young age, inseparable since. In another life you could say that they were probably Siamese twins, considering how much time they spent at one another's side. He wouldn't trade it for anything, even if someone offered the end of the infection and a world of peace - he would selfishly turn it down. Tao was and is still important to him.
Jun was shook from his thoughts by Tao's words. He wanted to be with him? Sure it was what he was expecting considering that was what they were talking about, but to hear it was a different thing all together. It brought a smile to his face and butterflies began to tingle in his stomach, like it had done many times when they were kids.
''I take it back. No maybes or kindas about it... I wanna be with you too'' gulped the older boy, still finding it silly that they were still at this point. They should of at least had three kids by now, even though that wasn't possible. They should of made quick work of the seven years they had missed, which incidentally meant the kids. Jun couldn't handle kids though, too much hassle.Â
Turning to the younger boy he jumped on him, the blanket completely forgotten. It would of been quite a site, Jun thought, a topless Kang Jun throwing himself onto a topless Zitao. ''Yeah! I wanna be with you too!'' the older boy shouted, leaning down to give Tao a kiss on the check. If he wanted an actual kiss, Tao would have to initiate it. Jun didn't want to mess it up, the younger boy would be better at doing that anyway.Â
With Jun on top of Tao, he threw his arms to either side of the boy, trying to get as close to the boy as he possibly could. Tao was probably getting soaked by now and he was scanning the boy's face, trying to guess his emotion. He couldn't tell. If the younger boy was angry that could turn into a problem, but he would cross that bridge when he gets to it.Â
In a moment of courage he stopped acting silly and straddled Tao's hips, sitting up straight. Honestly he was acting too silly for the moment and that was something he could curse himself for later. ''Tao, kiss me. Please?''Â
