finicky fennekin → gcs + sdw
For which brief period of time thus, Dongwoo too needs smile a little wider. Eyes glancing up at the trainer rather than the pokemon in his arms. For the childlike tone makes him look all the younger, the more boyish. Endearing, really. Dongwoo himself could hardly help raising his tone up to embarrassing high pitches when addressing the youngest (or rather, the smallest) members of his team. So when he glances back down, watches the fox-like pokemon twitch its ears in response to the cooing, it is with some extra sympathy for the boy. Whose arms nestle the finicky little thing as carefully as they possibly can, what with the way it twitches and turns.
"Eo. Could be. Maybe she just wants attention." Here his eyes crinkle, shape moon crescents right as a nasal, soundless chuckle makes its way out. To think of all the young, fussy pokemon he’s often surrounded with as bratty two year olds craving attention has Dongwoo smiling to himself. His own feisty Oddelina fitting the profile all too accurately. A certain Petilil, if much older in age, even more so—but that’s a thought he must keep secret from the bulb-like pokemon herself. If he ever wishes to get on her good side.
"I was worried she could have trust issues because of something that happened in the past—but it doesn’t look like it." Which words he voices rather absently, arms folded on the counter and eyes lost in the little gestures of the bratty fennekin herself. Stubborn little paws kicking around, struggling to free themselves from the young boy’s hold. To no avail, that is. Still Dongwoo watches, curiously so; a hand rising to adjust the snapback on his head, tuck a lock of hair behind his ear in the process. Slowly he breathes in and soon enough he’s smiling again, mumbling half to himself: ”She looks like someone I know.”
"Mm?" Gongchan asks, half absentmindedly, crouching down then to set the Fennekin on the ground, her struggling growing to be too much. He keeps her pokéball at the ready in case she tries to run off, something he doubts, but it's always a possibility, as far as he's concerned. He watches her wander around the room, sniffing at the side of the counter, the floor, most likely picking up on the scents of all the different pokémon that had passed through here. "They look like a fox?" He smiles as he glances back up to the other boy for just a second. "They say Jung Jinyoung looks a lot like a fox too-- the gym leader?" He brings this up as a fan, something he would have done before as well, though his recent meeting with said gym leader also sits in the back of his mind.
But before he gives the daycare worker a chance to reply to this, Gongchan cuts in with a quick "Oh!" Pan jumps a little bit, having been right by his feet, but immediately goes back to her typical nonchalant self, acting like it never happened. "I never introduced myself, did I? I'm Gong Chansik." He bows. "Most people call me Gongchan though." He can see the boy's name tag from where he stands, but opts to ignore it, give him a chance to speak for himself. However, when he looks downward for a second, he sees his pokémon wandering around the side of the counter to look around and explore more, of course in places she isn't allowed.
"Pan--" he calls, and while she doesn't turn, the Fennekin does stop in her tracks. Gongchan approaches her and crouches down again to pick her up, move her back where she actually can go. When he stands he looks back to the other boy, smiling a bit when he apologizes, "Sorry-- as you were saying?"

Maybe if he were a different man, Jinyoung would have become offended at this ensuing battle, for dominance, between their two bodies. He was an aggressive pursuer to the point where it annoyed him that Gongchan was the one who kissed him first, but now he was able to calmly (well as calmly as someone with a tongue shoved in his mouth could be) accept being pushed against the wall. In fact, he rather enjoyed it. Or at least that’s what the blood racing through his veins told him anyway. Two sets of five fingers curled up in whatever they could grab of the younger male, some gripped and tugged at dark hair, while the others pressed against cotton material, thirsting for the skin underneath it.
His mind swirled about in the beginnings of lust, as he attempted to commit how the other tasted to memory, a certain body part already starting to stiffen within the confines of his too tight jeans. Never would he have thought that this trainer, the one with the adorable face and the set of fox looking Pokemon, would have been this bold. It certainly made him more admirable in his eyes. While Gongchan tried to contain his noises, Jinyoung allowed his own, a soundtrack of whines and whimpers, to flow naturally in between those pretty pink lips. Teeth clamped down onto already swollen skin, his tongue flicking across coveted mouth, while his thigh pressed upwards, determined to elicit some form of sound from the other. It was too difficult to see flaming cheeks in the dark building, but there was no way he’d go without some form of victory. He needed to have this boy give in to him.
Gongchan pressed in harder to their kisses, deeper, his tongue slipping into Jinyoung's mouth in certain spots, but never for too long, aiming mostly to tease. When Jinyoung's thigh touched him in just the right way, however, he couldn't help but give a small gasp onto the older boy's lips, one that nearly formed into a moan when he exhaled. He was so overwhelmed by his touch, the way they battled for dominance already, that he hardly even noticed the slight movement of one of his pokéballs hanging from his belt. Or the other that came right after.
What mattered was the way Jinyoung bit and sucked at his lips, the way Gongchan's own hands settled on his hips, fingers just skimming under the sides of his shirt. He already felt so hot, they both did, his skin burning for this gym leader in ways he hadn't felt in ages. He let out another soft moan, this one more drawn-out, caring less as he fell even deeper into this, as his hips moved just a bit against Jinyoung's conveniently placed thigh. It was almost involuntary at first, but once he knew how good it felt, he didn't think he'd be able to find it in him to stop. Not willingly.
His heartbeat was already racing, but it still jumped when his Vulpix burst from its pokéball, startling the two trainers beyond belief. Hardly a second later Gongchan's Growlithe joined the fun as well, the two humans having already split apart. His hand was on his chest as he tried to calm himself, having jumped straight out of his skin at the interruption. With a furrowed brow he looked to Jinyoung, terror on his face that immediately melted into laughter, the kind that grew near-hysterical within seconds, still recovering from the scare.
Next time, he thinks, if there is at all a next time, they're getting left at home.
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Hakyeon’s eyes crease warmly. “I bet it was,” he smiles, but most of the teasing is gone from his tone once he realizes how flustered the younger is. “We can stop talking about it,” he assures him. “change in subject…I think I remember you saying something about a Fenniken, maybe? If I remember correctly… Another fox?” he asks curiously, somewhat gesturing at the Pokemon wriggling on the bench, letting out a little giggle when Gongchan’s Vulpix pushes her way under Beethoven and partially dislodges the Ninetales in order to get Hakyeon’s attention.
The older fox huffs, but lets her happily squish her way in to get attention from the part-time dancer. “Not that I’m in any way opposed to more foxes, obviously,” he says, glad for the warmth of the Pokemon almost wrapped around him. Almost in a stage whisper he gives Gongchan a brief conspiratorial look and winks at him. “You gotta give me more details if anything else happens though, right?” he asks, nodding like Gongchan has already agreed.
"I will, I will!" Gongchan laughs at the insistent trainer. "I mean you're not getting details-details -- I know how nosey you are," he jokes, holding back a laugh, "but I'll keep you up to date. Promise." He even holds his pinky up to show he's serious, and once they've locked them and let go again, the pact sealed, he skips back to the former question asked of him. Everything is a bit of a jumble today, but he's still having fun.
"But yeah, I have a Fennekin. Her name is Pan, I got her recently, but she's a handful." He sags his shoulders a bit, looking rather dejected, up until the other foxes in his lap demand his attention again. Needy, he thinks. "She ignores me and everyone else. I actually even took her to the local daycare, of all places, hoping they'd help me. I think the guy there did do quite a bit though, she's getting better now. I think." And he adds as an afterthought, half to himself, "You know, he was really cute too..." When his gaze makes it over to Hakyeon he laughs, feeling a bit ridiculous in the end, but still enjoying being able to talk so freely for a change.
finicky fennekin → gcs + sdw
A soft hum is all that escapes him for a moment. Dongwoo’s arms both folded on the counter as he watches the squirmy little thing, presses his lips softly together in thought. It’s not the first time he’s ever had to deal with a finicky pokemon—a Snubbul’s teeth mark still healing on his left ankle from last month—though usually they came with equally finicky trainers; if not even more so. The boy’s genuine concern for the fox-like ball of fluff is what has him wondering for a moment. These circumstances not entirely unfamiliar to him: his own Sceptile most likely sitting at home still, staring blankly out the window, unnamed and unfriendly to boot. Which is probably why he’s so willing to help, already invested in the matter, regardless of how unusual the request might be.
“She doesn’t seem ill—can I hold her?” His gaze meets the boy’s own just as he holds his hands out. And he can tell it is not entirely without hesitation that the trainer hands him the fox pup over the counter. A stranger’s touch making her all the more restless, anxious to jump back down. So very carefully Dongwoo wraps his arms around her frame and just as carefully he mutters: “shh. It’s okay. It’s just for a second.”
Which words might make little sense to its pokemon self, yet the tone of his voice seems to soothe her some, if her eyes remain alert still, untrusting. Well, it must suffice for now. A hand of his already busying itself with one ear, tugging at the tip so he may peer inside it, check for any signs of infection. “Her ears seem fine. Her teeth too. I thought it could be toothache making her grouchy, but—” Here he brings two digits out of the fluffy thing’s mouth, having held it open for a brief check up—much to her dismay. And she’s still grumbling in complaint when he lets his fingers run through the fur on her back, takes another moment to ponder with himself before speaking. “Do you know if she had another trainer before?”
It's almost scary to Gongchan when the boy checks his pokémon's ears, opens her mouth and looks at her teeth. Even if he knew how to check for something like this, he isn't entirely sure he would have, at risk of getting bit or scratched. In truth, he doesn't think she ever would do such a thing on purpose, the little fox more cold and apathetic than aggressive, but he never would have risked it on his own. Yet unfortunately nothing comes from this quick examination anyway, and he isn't sure if he's relieved or not. It would be bad if she were sick, of course, but at least it could be fixed easily enough.
"I got her from Professor Jo," he says when asked. "So I don't think so, not besides him. She's pretty young though..." When he notices the Fennekin struggling a bit suddenly, he reaches out to take her back again, not because she likes him any better, really, but at least this way if she accidentally scratches or anything, it won't be someone else getting hurt. Once he holds her, tries to pet her like the daycare worker had done, she seems at least as content as she usually was with him. It's enough for now.
"Do you think this is just like... I don't know, when humans get the 'terrible twos' or something? She's just being a brat because she's a baby?" His last sentence is said as he looks down at her, though he doesn't sound stern at all. Rather, his tone goes up, talking to the little Fennekin in a baby voice instead. It seems to excite her rather than make her calm down, but she seems happy about it, at least. An improvement, at least for a second or two.
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Hakyeon grins at him then, Faust now nestled in the spot on the bench between them, nosing at the Pokemon nearly spilling out of Gongchan’s lap. He debates putting Beethoven down to hold the Zorua instead, but he knows the proud old fox would be miffed if he did that. He moves himself so that he’s cross legged on the bench now though, and scoots back so there’s enough room for both of them and the Ninetales still in his lap.
Hakyeon listens attentively, perhaps even too intently, to Gongchan’s story, beaming more broadly, and maybe more mischievously, when the story draws to a close. “Aren’t you a lucky guy, then?” he grins. “Not as innocent as you look either.” He pokes him in the arm, but there’s not any bite in his voice.
Faust looks like he’s ready to crawl into Gongchan’s lap with the other foxes, sniffing at them eagerly and feeling like he’s missing out on the attention. He yaps at the trainer and gives him a pouty look even though he knows there’s not room for him too. Hakyeon’s about to grab him by the scruff when the fox decides that he’s going to take matters into his own paws and leaps on top of the other three in front of him.
Gongchan lets out a small yell of his own in surprise, one that turns to laughter when the Zorua's surprise attack knocks his Eevee right off his lap, the Vulpix getting pushed into his stomach. Star scrambles to her feet and jumps back up on the bench, on the opposite side of him, officially filling every last spot on the bench with foxy fluff. Gongchan laughs and pets her for a second, making sure she's alright after the fall, but still Faust begs for attention from him as well. He's trapped, really, having only two hands to attend to the three needy pokémon begging for his attention.
"It's not what you think," he says finally, again having to backtrack to their conversation because of their pokémon interrupting it. "We didn't-- we only made out. We got interrupted, but I mean... I don't think we would have--" he pauses for a second, as if debating with himself. This gets him to laugh, and he finds he can't really come to a conclusion in the end. "Probably not...?" He glances down to the pokémon in his lap still, just to the side, when Sienna climbs over Faust to try and get to Hakyeon for the attention she thinks she deserves. "We should probably stop talking about this though," he says, not really embarrassed as much as just weirded out by this point. Yet still he feels the need to add: "It was nice though."
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Gongchan seems eager enough, his joking creasing Hakyeon’s forced smile into something more genuine. “I appreciate it,” he says. “I feel safer, at least,” he sighs, though it’s not unhappily. A little bit of a twinkle returns to his eyes.
"I might’ve possibly topped it, just a little," he teases, laughing along with him. "That depends, though, if you wanna share a little more," he adds, wiggling his eyebrows at the younger again. "You don’t have to tell me any names, but how do you even end up kissing a gym leader, of all people? I’m impressed, even with my long line of lovers," he jokes. (It’s really not that long, but his point still stands.) He also very much wants to know who it is that’s taken interest in his younger friend, but he respects their privacy, fair enough. “This stays here,” he says firmly, and the rest of their Pokemon bound up, Eevee and Vulpix and Bronzor now, the Zorua taking on the wild Steel type’s form now. He clangs and leaps up on top of Beethoven, changing midair back to his usual furry form.
Hakyeon gasps at the extra weight and makes a few griping noises that sound almost identical to the whines of his Ninetales. “Or we can get crushed by a couple furry butts,” he says accusingly at Faust, who only seems delighted by his human friend’s reaction.
Gongchan laughs at the wild Zorua, the scene it creates, up until he receives a similar treatment. His Eevee dashes up to him, not far behind Faust, jumping up onto Gongchan's lap, Vulpix only seconds behind. They crash into each other, falling hard on his legs (luckily just avoiding where it would hurt far worse) and stumbling onto the Ninetales just next to him. Their Bronzor friend simply watches from a few feet away, perplexed. The two of them quickly shift around, acting like nothing had happened.
Once all the pokémon have settled down, Sienna and Star both resting on his lap (though they hardly fit), Gongchan finally remembers what he was asked last. "Anyway... it's actually someone I've been a fan of for a while," he laughs. His head turns for another check to make sure no one is nearby listening, even though he still leaves names out of the story. The coast is clear, so he continues.
"I went for a walk past the gym one day hoping I could meet him... and he's kind of known for his flirting, so one thing led to another, and I kissed him, so he brought me inside, and..." He stops for a second, unsure what to say at this point, then letting his breath out all at once in an odd sort of laugh. "It was definitely not what I was expecting, that's for sure." His hands busy themselves then, one petting each of his little foxes, a small smile on his face when he looks down at the two of them, seeing how happy they look.
[ / ; new romantics ] — gcs + jjy
When the other failed to respond, Jinyoung couldn’t help the victorious smirk gracing his lips, even while in the middle of a passionate kiss. One thinly muscled arm wrapped around Gongchan’s neck, giving the physical encounter an air of possessiveness; his other hand went back and forth between resting against a cheek bone and caressing his neck. Overly eager wet muscle practically attacked at the inside of his momentary partner’s mouth, licking at the ticklish roof, the bottom row of teeth, and everything in-between.
Though he had never been with a male before, besides a couple of random make out sessions much like this one, the very forward male still knew what his basic instincts told him. The ones that informed him on how to drive the other crazy — crazy for him. Leg pushed in between Gongchan’s purposefully, allowing them to create more friction against each other. The grab to his behind caused fox-shaped eyes to jerk open and a whine to sound in a shared kiss. An airy chuckled escaped Jinyoung, both slightly shocked and aroused by such a bold move.
Immediately, he set in on the attack, in order to retaliate against this trainer, who had fired him up, since the moment they met. Disconnecting their lips, only to trail his tongue and teeth downwards to Gongchan’s luscious neck, the gym leader nibbled and sucked on the skin there, hoping it was as sensitive a spot for him, as it was for himself. Before he was entirely conscious of his actions, his hand slipped underneath the boy’s shirt, thumb pressing into lanky hip bone, and his crotch bucked upwards against his thigh, eliciting a lone whimper. It was almost humorous, due to the fact that surely neither of them expected such a thing to happen when they met.
Though Gongchan didn't think of this for a decent while, how they ended up like this so suddenly after meeting. He was far too focused on the lips on his neck, how their bodies fit together the way they did. The clothing in the way. He was anxious for more, yet at the same time a bit wary: this was a lot, so fast, but he didn't want it to stop, either. He would be lying if he said he had never though about this before, having been a fan of Jinyoung's for a while, but there was no instance in which he thought this would ever actually happen. Any of it. Maybe the flirting was a possibility, which Jinyoung was known for, but a genuine interest? Never. The kiss, going inside the gym, everything that was happening at that moment -- he couldn't believe any of it. And yet the blood rushing between his legs only made him crave the older boy even more, get more lost from reality.
So he tried to hush down the tiny beginnings of sounds that wanted to escape him, a bit embarrassed he was getting worked up so quickly. When Jinyoung's lips returned to his own, just for a moment, Gongchan took the opportunity to move his feet, not even breaking the string of kisses as he suddenly switching their positions, leaving Jinyoung to be the one pinned to the wall instead. With a smirk on his lips, a hand on the wall by the other boy's head, Gongchan leaned in to kiss him harder, slip his tongue into the mix, press their bodies together and take control of the situation.
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Hakyeon tries to keep himself from stiffening further, but Beethoven, reading the way Hakyeon’s limbs still over his fur, fixes a glare on Gongchan and growls in his throat threateningly.
"Ack, no, Beethoven, it’s fine, chill," he scolds him and the fox butts his head into Hakyeon’s stomach with a yapping noise. Hakyeon pulls the fox closer to him and offers Gongchan a weak smile.
"Yes." His cheeks are burning and he’s dying to just bury his face in the Ninetales fur, but he’s still proud of his identity, goddamn his nerves. "Usually a guy but sometimes not," he shrugs. "I don’t really ever express it though," he says, and the smile droops lower. "When I do, people think I’m joking or a freak if they realize I’m not," he says, but it comes out hoarsely. "I’ve got a few dance friends who know, but that’s it." He smiles mirthlessly. "It’s not exactly fitting for the son of a CEO and CEO in training himself to be a girl sometimes."
Once he's recovered from the growling Ninetales startling him, Gongchan listens to Hakyeon's explanation with a great deal of interest. This is all so unfamiliar to him, yet the person before him seems alright in explaining it all, like this is something he's had rehearsed, regardless of how often it actually gets put to use. So Gongchan nods a bit through the explanation, to show he's listening, and once Hakyeon goes quiet he finally speaks up again.
"That's got to be hard... but I mean, if you want to... express it around me, that's fine? However you would do that exactly...? But it doesn't bother me, at least." He gives a smile, trying to comfort him in any way he can, yet his words sound a bit stale to him, empty. He just isn't sure what can be said other than, "I might not fully understand what this all means yet, but I'll try my best to." It nearly sounds like a question when he says it, as if he's asking if this will be enough for now. And after a tiny gap of silence, he tacks on, mostly just thinking aloud: "You sure blew my confession out of the water though." When their eyes meet, he can't help but laugh.
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Hakyeon pats at the hair on either side of his face, a nervous habit of his. It’s too cold for him to sweat, thankfully, or he’d already be drenched by now.
"Sort of?" he says. "Not exactly," he amends. "Not really, actually." He tugs on his hair, crossing and uncrossing his legs. He’s one of the most powerful people he knows but it just takes a little bit of this type of conversation to get him completely worked up and set every one of his nerves on edge. "No one chooses their gender really. It just is what it is," he says, taking a deep breath, slowing down a little bit. "And you might be the only person to know your gender and sometimes it might even change. Like some people might be guys sometimes and girls some other times or have no gender at all…" he says, hinting at something he half hopes Gongchan catches on to. Over to the side, Beethoven senses his distress and saunters over, abandoning the kids to their shenanigans. They continue on without him, chasing a wild Bronzor around a bush as it clangs unhappily at them.
The Ninetales leaps up onto the bench, settling himself into Hakyeon’s lap between the two trainers. Hakyeon gives him a weak smile and continues, glad for the weight of the fox Pokemon to ground him. His hands sink into his fur and stroking Beethoven soothes his nerves just a little.
"It’s kinda like for those people… gender is fluid? Um. You call that genderfluid, actually," he says. "There’s other trans people who don’t have gender at all and they call themselves genderless or agender, usually, and then people who don’t fit into any boxes call themselves genderqueer sometimes? There’s as many genders and labels for ‘em as there are kinds of people," he says, gesturing with his hands to show the girth of what he means. Beethoven yaps warningly at him, and he pats the Ninetales’ head. "Maybe it’d be best if you asked me questions since it looks like you’re about to explode," he notes with a small chuckle, pulling one of Beethoven’s ears between his fingers and petting him sweetly. "I’m not sure how much of what I’m saying is understandable either," he laughs self-deprecatingly.
"Enough of it--" Gongchan starts, then correcting, "I mean, most of it. I think. It's just..." he pauses for a second, hands in his lap. Though it's tempting to pet the Ninetales who is so close to him, noticing how soft its fur looks, he decides against it in case this would startle the poor thing. His own pokémon don't seem to care about anything but playing with their Zorua fiend. "I don't know, it's kind of hard to understand without it being me, I think? Maybe if I woke up in a girl's body one day I'd understand," he laughs. "Like in the movies." He isn't quite sure if this is a time for joking, but the mood around the two of them has grown so tense, he makes any attempt he can to break it. Serious conversation is one thing, but this uneasiness, this thing hanging in the air...
"Can I ask you a question?" he spits out suddenly. He realizes that this itself is a question, and a stupid one. He's already asking plenty of them. Yet Gongchan looks around for just a second, finding still no one around them but pokémon (wild and otherwise), though his voice still hushes a bit when he asks, vaguely, "Are you... I mean, if you don't mind me asking--"
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Hakyeon wrings his hands a little bit, letting out a tiny wry chuckle at the younger’s honest question.
"Sure, it’s possible," he says, taking a breath to prepare himself for a discussion he’s never found easy. Gongchan’s sweet and Hakyeon decides against any of the offhand, shallow explanations he could give, wanting him to understand.
"Gender is a lot more complicated—and a lot simpler—than people like to believe," he says. "Like transgender people and intersex people," he offers, before going further to explain, unsure of how well Gongchan’s informed. "Trans people identify as a different gender than the one assigned to the stuff in their pants, and intersex people have junk that doesn’t fit what ‘normal’ junk’s supposedly supposed to look like…" he starts, though he’s not quite satisfied with that explanation. "In the first place, people are led to think that you’ve either got a penis or a vagina and certain characteristics that go with each, and that’s certainly untrue, like with intersex people. On top of that, people that do don’t always identify with the gender that goes along with it, in the case of people who are transgender," he continues to explain, gesturing with his hands for emphasis. "Though there are intersex people who are also transgender, but I’m pretty sure I’m probably just confusing you at this point," he laughs, shaking his head a little bit. "My point though is, sometimes trans people don’t identify as men or women either."
"Maybe it’s easier to say that like Pokemon, people aren’t always male or female? We call ‘em nonbinary people usually. I guess you could say that they’re kind of like legendaries," he grins, though he’s not really looking at Gongchan. "Or like, Carbinks or Rotoms or some other Pokemon like that. People have a little more variation when it comes to gender though," he adds thoughtfully. "Probably a lot more than you wanted to know, but I like you as a friend enough to at least make sure you understand a little bit," he says, a little more shyly. "I, um—" he starts, but he’s so flustered by now, afraid to continue, to out himself further, that he chokes on his own words.
All Gongchan can do at first is stare, trying to process all of this information. It's a lot to take in, to wrap his head around. Too much. The 'legendary' comparison helps a bit, one of the few points he can latch onto, but a good chunk of the rest is lost in how fast Hakyeon talks (is he nervous? why?), how much he tries to cover so quickly. Gongchan is nearly ready to brush it off with an 'alright, sorry I asked,' but there seems to be something behind it. For the person before him talks like he's quite invested in this, like this is something he's had to explain before. Gongchan won't pry, but he has an idea.
After a small moment of trying to register as much of this rapid-fire info as he can, he finally speaks up again. "Wow, I had no idea..." His eyes are a bit large, a bit surprised. "So... you can just kind of... choose what you want to be?" He's scratched the surface, but it still coming short on entirely understanding. Gongchan tries his best to tread lightly, however, though he still has many questions: it's just a matter of how to ask them.
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Hakyeon lets out a quiet sigh of relief when Gongchan seems to relax a little, accepts his own admission. “I just wanted you to know you were in like company,” he says, still a little flustered, but he’s happy and pleased Gongchan looks less like ice now and more like warmth, smile playing around the edges of his mouth.
He feels his cheeks burning at Gongchan’s teasing reply, though he’s grateful the blush won’t show so much with his darker skin.
"Hey back at you, you cheeky kid!" he admonishes, fanning at his face even though he’s still grinning widely. "Can’t help it if everyone wants a piece of the Cha," he smirks, adding, "Though that’s not quite what I meant," suggestively, waggling an eyebrow with the shift in tone.
"I’m not particularly picky too," he shrugs, feeling the need to go on. "Girls, guys, people who aren’t either, that’s all a-OK in my books. Probably attend and throw a couple parties too much for my own good too," he giggles nervously, the statement a little too true. "Dance is also a bit of a door opener. Or I guess, a closet door opener," he jokes, laughing at his own pun.
Gongchan laughs at this, already feeling this 'weight off his shoulders' sensation, somehow a bit happier, freer than before. The way the two of them are talking about this so openly, something he's really never had a chance to do before, is rather comforting. Maybe, he thinks, they can become better friends this way, too.
But what he comments on steps back just a bit in their conversation: "I've had a few girlfriends before too, I just... don't really think about it? I like who I like, I guess." He shrugs, but then moves on to another thing Hakyeon said, his brow furrowing just a bit in confusion as he asks in return, gears in his mind turning, "...but what do you mean 'people who aren't either'?" Gongchan adjusts how he sits just a bit, getting more comfortable. Their pokémon play still behind the two of them, a bit lost behind the trainers' conversation. "Is that really possible?"

Due to the boy’s abundant silence, the over-eager male couldn’t help but wonder if he had pushed things too far. It wouldn’t be the first time, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last. And while he wasn’t known for apologies, an ‘I’m sorry’ sat on the tip of his tongue, growing fat and threatening to burst out of him. But, finally Gongchan answered and he heaved a relieved sigh. As long as he didn’t end up pushing the other away with his odd, abrasive nature, then all was well. While his fan was undeniably strange and much more evil than his baby face showed, there was no denying the urge to get to know him better. Physically or otherwise, Jinyoung wasn’t too sure which.
A satisfied smirk overtook his features, as he watched the trainer put his Pokemon back in their Poke Balls. He joined in standing, head tilting to the side in slight perverse curiosity, attempting to size the younger up and decide what exactly to do with him. “Not yet, no. Would you like to be the first?” Jinyoung chirped deviously, not waiting for an answer, as he tugged Gongchan by his wrists into the decrepit building standing behind them. It was not the most ideal place to become intimate with another, but it was something the morbid gym leader had always wanted to do.
Immediately, as they walked in, the door was shut and Gongchan was pushed up against a wall. Without another word, Jinyoung pressed his lips to the other’s, instantly seeking out entrance with his tongue. The kiss was much rougher and desperate than the peck he had received a few moments prior, but he was determined to see the same flushed cheeks on the boy, who laughed at him. His hands ran up a thinly muscled front, and settled on a lean neck, thumb pressing at his pulse, to see how it raced. Teeth clamped down on bottom lip teasingly and he purred out, “I hope you feel special—”
Gongchan didn't respond to this at all, too lost in what was happening to even hear the words to begin with. Too overwhelmed. Jung Jinyoung had him pinned to the wall, his lips were on his, tongue was in his mouth-- he didn't even really notice what the inside of the gym looked like.
This all was so much to focus on that at first all Gongchan could do was freeze, feel his face grow just a light shade of red. He prayed the slightly dimmed lights inside, lack of windows, were enough to hide this, but knew they wouldn't be soon enough. After a second or two, thankfully, he managed to kiss the older boy back properly, lips moving with his and pressing in with just as much force. His lips parted when Jinyoung's tongue passed them again, his own circling it, playing with it inside his mouth, and his hands quickly settled on Jinyoung's waist, pulling him just a bit closer.
He all too quickly felt his entire body growing hotter, despite how cold the wall was on his back, how cool the air was in the gym, matching its eerie theme. He was getting worked up a bit too quickly, more than he would have liked, feeling a bit needier with each passing kiss. When one of his hands ran down Jinyoung's lower back, stopping just over the pocket of his jeans, he gave a light squeeze to get a reaction from him. Something. He knew what Jinyoung was trying to do, and this was a battle he would not easily lose.
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
"He?" Hakyeon asks, before his hand flies to his mouth. Gongchan looks like an ice sculpture from how still he’s gone, blood drained from his face, and Hakyeon quickly realizes that how delicate the conversation is now. He’s the last person in Korea, probably, to mind someone kisses another person of the same gender, but he knows (is hyper-aware, really) of how that’s really not the case for most people in their culture.
It’s very much now like they’re both walking on a frozen lake, and Gongchan’s standing on the thinnest part of the ice, waiting for Hakyeon to just put a little weight on the delicate surface and watch him fall in.
It’s his first instinct to grab Gongchan’s hands in his own reassuringly, but he chooses not to act on it, afraid he’ll drown the other if he moves too suddenly.
"It’s okay," he says gently instead. "I’m—" he starts, very nearly outing himself as well, but he stops himself and grits his teeth. One of the Pokemon stumbles over, a Vulpix (though as his image flickers, Hakyeon recognizes his own Zorua). He flashes them a concerned look, and Hakyeon gives him a sweet smile and waves at him. "We’re fine, just discussing important human things," he says, and Faust nods, scampering back to knock Beethoven the rest of the way to the ground, the other little ones going back to their playtime.
It looks like they’re the only two in the area, any other trainers nearby already wandered off into the distance and only their Pokemon and the Safari ones within hearing range. The gate is still pretty close though, and it makes Hakyeon nearly as nervous as Gongchan.
"Talk somewhere else?" he asks quietly, wrapping his long fingers around Gongchan’s wrist instead of waiting for an answer, afraid he’s not going to move unless Hakyeon makes him.
He pulls him to a bench a little further and makes him sit down. He takes a deep breath before he starts talking, but does his best to met Gongchan’s eyes.
"It’s okay," he repeats. "Me too." He shakes his head at his poor phrasing. "I mean, I’ve kissed a few guys. Well, more than that, but, uh," he blushes, a rare moment of embarrassment for him. "You’re safe, I mean."
Still Gongchan stays quiet for a moment, eyes having fallen to stare blankly at his knees. But when Hakyeon says this last set of words, 'you're safe,' it hits him. He looks up, meets his eyes again and nods, a corner of his lips pulling into a small smile. "That's... thank you." His smile widens just a bit, feeling more genuine now, grateful for getting most likely one of the best reactions he could have hoped for.
He's still a bit shaken up, on edge, but no longer as scared as he was just a few seconds ago. It might take a while for it to fully set in, but he knows that once he's calmed down this will easily be a huge weight off his shoulders. Not many people know. His family doesn't, his coworkers don't, a majority of his friends don't. Only the closest handful of his friends know (along with two guys he's had interest in in the past, one of which being the gym leader in question), and each time this circle expands it's terrifying. But luckily for him, everyone he's trusted so far has done well with the information. He never would have thought to trust Hakyeon with it, however, not for a long while still, yet the way he responded gives him a bit of hope.
"I appreciate the support," Gongchan says, but it seems a little flat of a response, a little too formal. "You didn't have to admit to it too, if you weren't okay with it... but it's nice to know." He's visibly calming down now, looking a little less stiff, a little less pale. "But hey," he adds, a smile returning, starting to look more like his usual playful self again already, "what do you mean 'more than a few?' Where are you meeting them all, huh? Am I just looking in the wrong places here?" He laughs, turning a little when he catches his Eevee in the corner of his eye, stopped for a second to watch them. How long she had been there, he isn't sure, but once she sees he's alright, she runs back off to play with the others again.
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Hakyeon purses his lips and smacks Gongchan’s shoulder. “You told me to make things up,” he scolds, but there’s not bite to the reprimand. His eyes widen at the last statement though.
"Slow down there. Makeouts in a gym? With a gym leader? You rascal," he gasps, pushing at Gongchan, actually steering the now shy Safari Zone worker toward a nearby bench.
Like a chiding mother he shakes his index finger at Gongchan as they take a seat. “Spill. Which gym? Which leader?” He can’t keep up the stern facade and beams instead. “Give me the juicy details,” he begs, making grabby hands like he can physically take them from Gongchan.
Gongchan sits down on the bench before he can answer, Hakyeon immediately finding his place next to him. But the words still get stuck in Gongchan's throat, suddenly unsure what he can even say. He might have gotten cocky in the moment, first mentioning this, but now he realizes he should have kept his mouth shut on this front. Should he lie? He would still have to give a name, and that could work out pretty poorly -- he can already picture the sitcom-like shenanigans, running into whomever he lied about and having to act like they knew each other. Intimately. So he deems this a terrible plan, opting instead to back out and avoid answering at all.
"I... I can't really say." But of course this isn't enough, Hakyeon would just bug him for more. "I mean, they have a reputation to uphold, and it could be a scandal and all that. Not that I don't trust you, but if he finds out I told anyone--" Gongchan freezes when he realizes what he's said.
Shit.
♚ an outing - Hakyeon and Gongchan
Hakyeon laughs a little, covering his mouth with a closed hand. “Been practicing a few new dances with Kaya, did boring office work, and made a fool of myself in public a few times, but nothing too eventful…” With a twinkle in his eye and his tone joking he adds offhandedly, “Became the leader of a crime syndicate, hooked up with a few idols at a party, had a nice chat with Arceus, you know, the usual.” He talks with his hands as much as his mouth, gesturing strongly with each statement. He smirks a little, the grin growing more genuine when he sees Beethoven off to the side getting tackled by the smaller Pokemon running around him, the Ninetales’ face twisted in both disdain and surrender as they pile on top of him. He laughs again and points at the fox, and Beethoven gives him a dirty look, turning away when Hakyeon matches it, unable to win against the best side-eyer in Korea.
Hakyeon looks back to Gongchan, his expression shifting back to something cheerful. “What about you? Anything interesting going on? Any wild encounters of any kind you’d like to share?” he asks, hands curled together excitedly.
"Don't think you can just change subjects and not tell me more about that Arceus thing," is what Gongchan says first, smiling a bit. "Or details on that party." He, too, watches their pokémon play around, eyes shifting between them and Hakyeon as he summarizes his own stories, starting them off with a light shrug. "I got a Fennekin who hates me, almost got fired for falling asleep on the job after an all-nighter playing video games, made out with a gym leader inside their gym..." When Gongchan pauses he looks upward to the sky, eyes narrowed and lips pressed together in thought. He could easily toss in a few lies of his own about capturing Mew, seeing Ho-oh in the sky, winning the lottery-- but he has a better idea, one that will make one of his points stick out a bit more when it's not lost in a jumble of truths and lies.
So when he looks back down to Hakyeon, he can barely hold down the smile that tries to force its way onto his lips. "I don't know what else, but I mean... all of mine are true." As soon as he utters the words he laughs, a loose fist rising to cover his mouth for a second (as Hakyeon had done just a moment ago, though in a new, more bashful context).
"That she does," Rin says before lurching forward as she starts to chase after her. Then she loses sight of the Skitty, and stops short, getting on her tiptoes to try and find a rustling patch of grass or wagging pink tail. She finds neither. "And now she’s lost. Just my luck." Slumping her shoulders, she walks over to stand beside the Safari Zone employee. "Really? I bet they’d have a ball together, then."
She blinks at the introduction, soon frantically backtracking in her mind to confirm that she had, in her rush, forgotten to allow themselves to be introduced properly. “Ah, I’m Oh Hyerin, but Rin is fine. Nice to meet you, Gongchan.” She smiles, bowing her head. “I might stay here rather than chase after her. While she can go on and on without losing much energy, I’m a much different story. Besides, we’ll only have a problem if she gets pissed off and starts battling Pokémon left and right. It takes a lot for her to get pissed off, so we’re probably fine.”
"I guess the rules are technically that you just can't bring any home for free -- battling is fine I think? Especially if you're not even involved," Gongchan laughs. He looks to one side to find a small pond there, rocks all around its edges large enough to sit on. So he heads over this way, gesturing for Rin to follow, and finds a spot to sit on one of the rocks near a group of Goldeen that immediately swim away when they spot him. He idly wishes he could do this more often, lounge around with the pokémon inside the Safari Zone. It's quite relaxing, and even better when it's on company time.
The Skitty the two of them watch has found a Natu to chase around now, jump and swat at, indeed provoking the little thing. As it struggles to fly away, Gongchan asks Rin, "Hopefully you didn't chase her too far? Were you in the area already?"
