"WELL- IT'S A BIT COMPLICATED-" Motley had never met another aasimar before. He would have lost his composure before he'd been changed, but now he was nervous for entirely different reasons. This aasimar could clearly tell something was wrong with him (could they?). He just didn't know if it was more humiliating to have them assume he'd fallen (hadn't he, in a way?)- or if the truth of his alteration was worse. Or maybe the question was entirely related to something else. He had a habit of getting vague when referring back to his time in Barovia. Had he said something odd without noticing? Or had he neglected to mention the mask's status as a sight aid by mistake?

He'd been referring to his mask, and the fact that he'd finally made it to a point where it was no longer his primary vessel for sight, but 'no longer needing it so much' could really be taken as either his slightly stolen valor (it wasn't stolen, he'd just lost it) or the fact that his sight aid was no longer the end all be all of his mobility. He was opting for the latter and praying Ilmater's mercy would extend to him in that moment. At the very least so he could stop panicking over potentially innocent questions and have a normal interaction for once. Especially with someone he'd have jumped at the change to talk to a year ago.

"Seeing without it is still a bit limited, I'm definitely better off with the mask- and I'm used to it, by now. But I'm not lost without it! Or, I'm not now, I guess," He said at last. Oh, he was a wreck, wasn't he. He had to get it together. By the Triad, this was getting sad. "So I guess, not that complicated, after all- sorry about that."

"SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN," Legion replied. "I will be on my most respectable behavior, promise, and I'll see if I can't be useful in a 'people will spill things in front of me because they think I'm just security' kind of way."

Crowds were not Legion's friend, but he was not to be the spectacle here, which did a bit to ease any anxieties brewing. He grinned back.

"Let's get going then- and yeah. it's relatable. I'm not gonna pry, but just know I'm not gonna be the one to judge you for shit that needs to be left behind."

"WELL," LEGION SAYS, taking a small step back. He went to raise his hands, but decided that displaying the viscera clinging to them was a bad plan. Gods knew his face was probably- not better. "I would, I'd love to, even, but I can't. 'This dimwit attacked me' is really all I've got."

The would-be monster hunter had gotten one solid swipe in with his little sword. It wasn't much, but Legion gestured at the wound anyway to prove his own innocence.

"I didn't even draw my weapon. That's a much more efficient way to kill people, trust me," Legion said. "If I'd been planning on killing him I'd have just used that."
