( ❣ )
❣ - REACTION TO 'BATH'
Steam swelled and rolled; the thick humidity clinging to his skin. It wasn’t often he had time to enjoy the warm depths of a bath. The tiled room small, grimy but at least bearable.
"How’re you suppose to wash your face like that?" She breathes. An Angel; Angel herself. He grunts in response, twisting a wash cloth between his large hands. Her point was noted - regarded, and finally…accepted. She was Angel, an Angel after all.
She moves forward, resting over the lip of the bath, and takes the cloth from his hands. Wringing it between her own delicate fingers, before reaching out to pad softly, hesitantly, at his cheek.
Silence fills the room before she requests the closure of his eyes and moves to stand. The ruffling of clothes and the shift of water cause his body to become tense
"Okay"
She sits across from him, chest covered with the wash cloth, knees bent. She tilts her head and looks away embarrassed, dainty fingers grazing the waters surface. He doesn’t quite know what to say, his own cheeks painting pink as he, in turn, averts his gaze.
Headcanon #3
Surprisingly enough, Angel is actually a fantastic cook. It's amazing how much you can learn and how many times you can practice a dish when you've got the whole ECHOnet at your fingertips and endless free time. Her speciality is in main meals but, coming in at a close second and third are baking and desserts.

"Daddy, can I see your face?"
"Ah… you might not like it, hun."
"Please Daddy? I promise I’ll be good."
With an uncomfortable look on his face, the man hesitantly removed the clips from the side of his mask and gingerly pulled it off, hissing with pain as the air hit his tender skin.
She didn’t scream. She didn’t run. She only stared at him with curiosity, then smiled and embraced him. “I think you’re handsome, Daddy,” she cooed, and kissed her stunned father on his scarred cheek.
If Angel had survived I’d like to think Gaige would’ve exposed her to punk rock.

She wakes to the sound of whirring machines and a heavily accented voice in the distance that, even though she can't see her surroundings, sends her mind into the darkest parts of her mind and has her wondering if everything that'd happened - her death, her rebirth - had all been a horrible dream. Panic floods through her when she tries to move her limbs, muscles flexing and relaxing with her demands but not once budging. When Angel finally finds the strength to open her eyes she's greeted by a dirty, mouldy ceiling, a busted lamp above her and the thick, suffocating smell of iron in the air.
The Siren groans and squeezes her eyes shut as she attempts to curl up on herself, the gesture slow and awkward from the stiffness in her body. "Easy there," the voice from beside her makes her tense painfully and mewl, arms wrapping tight around her head as if trying to block him out. "You had, 'er, quite the fall, lil lady -- hit yer head pretty hard. They brought you too me to 'ave a look'atcha. Said you've been sick too," Angel shook her head like a stubborn child until it triggered a fit of coughs, frail body shaking violently through the ordeal. It was true - ever since she'd left the containment of her Control Core she'd been violently ill but be damned if she let someone like him look at her.
When the coughing ceases, Angel opens her tear filled eyes and notices that the doctor's on the opposite side of the room rambling to himself, every now and then lifting some medical equipment to eye height before putting it down again. After staring for a long moment she makes her escape, awkwardly fumbling off the bed before dragging herself towards the door on unstable legs. There's a shout behind her as she falls out the entrance onto her hands and knees, the need to hide helping her close the distance between her and the vending machines so she could squeeze into the snug gap between the two.
Angel exhales a wheezy breath and curls herself into a small ball, tears of exhaustion and sickness running down her cheeks. It was a terrible hiding place since it was so close to where she was trying to avoid, but at least it'd be the last place people would think to look.
Rhys let out a sigh of defeat before whining, haunching his shoulders as he checked the computer in his hand.
"Look miss, I know your lying- I’m not stupid. You can trust me, I’m not here to hurt you…"
Rhys gazed at her for a moment before letting out a sigh of defeat.
"Look someone sent me here to make sure you were okay… And to be honest, he seemed really depressed about it… I ah, didn’t want to let him down… You must’ve been pretty special to him…"
Rhys furrowed his brows before sitting down. He crossed his arms over his chest as he let out a huff and turned his head to the side in a childish manner. When Jack had spoken of an ‘Angel’ Rhys had expected a weapon of some kind- not an actual person. He couldn’t help but wonder who she was to Jack, or why he was so sad about the matter. Nothing made sense.
"You know, when Jack asked me to make sure you were okay; I was sure as hell you would be some project of his or something! So silly! Um… How did you know him anyway?"
You could hear a pin drop in the room as Rhys spoke his name. The bartender and a few others deadly silent for a moment before beginning to work again.
Rhys gulped, pulling on his shirt collar.
All Angel could do was stare at him when he informed her he wouldn't hurt her, every so often allowing her gaze to wander to his mechanical arm before coming back to his face. He mustn't have been working there too long if she didn't recognise him - so just who was sending him after her? Who knew that she was still alive?
She sits up straighter when he joins her, pulling the cup of soup closer to her body as if protecting it from him. Angel could feel so many questions on the tip of her tongue but couldn't choose where to start, especially when he turned his head away from her like some bratty child. A smile tugged at her lips despite herself before hiding it behind her mug when he looked back, a small hum of content eliciting from the Siren until he started to speak again.
The mention of her father has her choking on her soup, cup quickly disposed of onto the table as the back of her hand is pressed to her lips. Angel stared at him wide eyed until he was done, the goosebumps that rippled across her arms alerting her to the fact they were being watched. Pursing her lips, Angel shook her head and huffed.
"Keep it down, please," she chastised, gaze roaming around the bar as everyone settled back into their business. Angel swallowed back the lump that'd formed in her throat and looked back at him, ocean blues both hurt and confused. "I know Joh--Jack is... gone, but don't go throwing his name around so easily," the ravenette frowned, shoulders slouching as she sunk into her chair. "The people here are still angry about all that happened," Angel told him with a small quick gesture towards the people in the bar.
"Before I answer any of your questions..." Angel bit her lip. "I want to know who you are. I don't remember your face," she breathes with a cock of her head, voice remaining hushed in order to keep the attention away from them.

Rhys let out a sigh, departing from a hyperion train as he heaved his luggage onto the platform of Lynchwood station. Jack had been dead for over a year now, but the AI that was left of him had given him clear instructions to do something for him; the only reason he was here.
[ “Can you do me a favor, Rhys?”
"Um, sure, sir."
"Can you look after Angel while I’m gone…" ]
Rhys remembered the way the blue hologram that was Jack had said those words- he was so pained; hurt. It was so unlike him. Rhys even considered not doing what he had been told just because of the strange way the AI was acting. But he gave into guilt anyway.
He stopped in front of bar, stepping inside slowly as he looked around; almost empty it seemed. He spotted what seemed to be a woman in the corner of the bar; covered by a tattered cape. He scanned her with his eyes and could see- it was the person he was looking for. His GPS tracker was correct.
She was a young, frail woman, with dark hair and eyes like sapphires. The freckles on her cheeks looked like tiny stars- she was very pretty.
Rhys, now flustered, walked up to her and tried to keep his cool.
"Oh, um…Hello..You’re Angel right?"
Lynchwood was the last place Angel had imagined herself visiting but, so far, she'd discovered it wasn't as bad as it seemed once you got past the brutes... That, and it also had exceptionally good soup.
It'd been a long time since Angel had ventured out on her own, the sickness she'd fallen into whilst her body tried to adapt to the air and lifestyle of Pandora having rendered her weak and immobile for months on end. The moment she'd felt well enough Angel conjured up what little strength she had and travelled to Lynchwood in hopes that Nisha was still alive.
As much as the woman closer in age to her than her father's had annoyed her, she'd been nothing but tolerable - for lack of better word - of her whenever they spoke. Unfortunately when she arrived there was no sign of the woman so instead Angel tracked down the cleanest looking place and went to hide inside.
What Angel hadn't been expecting was to be approached only moments after she'd arrived; the smooth voice breaking through her thoughts as she stared into the hot mug of soup she'd purchased. Sighing softly to herself, the Siren gave him a sidewards glance and stiffened immediately as her gaze rested 'pon the all too familiar writing printed on his vest.
Hyperion.
The ravenette pursed her lips and gave a shake of her head, attention falling back on her meal. "Sorry but I think you have the wrong person," she replied quietly, slender digits wrapping around her steaming mug as she brought it to her lips as if trying to tell him the conversation was over.
