honestly one of my favorite things about fanfic is when you can see the canon influences come out in really subtle ways. like a canon line thats mentioned once as a throwaway is suddenly the entire premise for a fic or it influences the characterization or something. its just so cool to see how people weave their ideas around a source material, especially if its not a detail i'd thought about before

#this is why i like media that doesn't go as deep? i mean they still have depth but aren't really explored in the story #pokemon (villains). ghosts cbs. throwaway lines from stardew valley. all viva la dirt league shows. pure peak #also special mention to it chapter two where Eddie went “i fucking knew it!” to Richie not writing his own material. the IMPLICATIONS #he watched richie's comedy specials during the 27 years despite having no memory. that's PEAK longing and it's just one comedic scene
