Some women will never want children in their life in any meaningful capacity. They don't want to give birth. They don't want to adopt. They don't want to be the fun auntie. They don't want to be a godmother. They don't want to work in a field with children. They will never change a child's diaper and don't believe their lack of childcare skills is a problem that needs fixing, because childcare is not a crucial part of the human experience, with billions of people on the planet. They go about their day while only seeing kids out at the grocery store or at the park, and nothing is missing from their lives.
The refusal to accept this is driving a global right-wing backlash movement.
You know why, though. It's because deep down the right knows (read: fears) that people who can give birth can also not give birth—and therefore ultimately decide if our species survives. Maybe that's why the subjugation of women has persisted for so long. Men know women are the judges. She can decide with her body if he should continue.
sorry i act weird when i’m uncomfortable and also when i’m comfortable
just because someone can articulate their point better doesn’t make them right, it makes them articulated.
and you aren’t stupid for having trouble articulating yourself.
"You will often be subjected to uncomfortable situations in public and you should learn to navigate that" and "if you play your music out loud in a public hike then the other hikers should be allowed to hunt you for sport" are two sentiments that can and should co-exist
this is going to be difficult -> i am capable of doing difficult things -> i have done everything prior to this moment -> this difficulty will soon be proof of capability
this difficulty will soon be proof of capability.
beautiful day to think about what you had and can no longer have
He can’t be stopped
@markscherz any approximations on what lil guy he's attempting to make here?
This is Agalychnis callidryas, the red-eyed tree frog.
Double Income No Kids used to be seen as a kind of lavish lifestyle, now it’s like…a requirement to have any remote chance at financial stability
This post is getting notes again so I see we’re all handling the cost of living crisis well 🙃
Anyone who cleans public restrooms should automatically make $100/hr
I recently found my “gold” hammer after misplacing it. It’s my favorite tool ever because it looks like a regular hammer trying to be fancy,
but then you twist both halves and unscrew it to find a flat-head screwdriver in the middle.
BUT, if you twist the very end and unscrew that
you find a phillips screwdriver.
BUT DON’T THINK THAT’S ALL THERE IS! THERE’S MORE!! unscrew the very end again to find a smaller flat-head screwdriver!
BUT THAT’S STILL NOT THE END!!
unscrew the end of this screwdriver to find a final, teeny tiny, flat-head screwdriver
look at how cute it is!
it’s like a matryoshka doll of tools.
I have one of these and I keep it in my IT toolkit because that teeny little screwdriver is the right side for laptop casings, but because it lives inside a large object it’s harder to misplace than a standard tiny screwdriver. Also because the look on a client’s face when you bring out a brass hammer to fix their laptop is absolutely wild.
something to consider

God was not upset at Adam and Eve for consuming the fruit of knowledge, he was upset because it hadn't ripened yet. The plan was always to feed them the gift of knowledge, but the serpent tricked them into eating it too early, causing humans to be unable to understand the entirety of a subject.
