Something is terribly wrong. Something is terribly wrong. Something is terribly wrong. Something is terribly wrong.
everything about eleven’s character is misogynistic. she barely escaped her abusers and, within a week, they put her into a relationship when she didn’t even know how to form a sentence or understand what privacy, friends, or a promise were. they never explored her personal interests. she never had the chance to live a normal life or to have a moment where she knew everything was going to end. she talks about feeling like she doesn’t belong anywhere, and in reality, she’s right, she doesn’t belong anywhere. she didn’t even get the chance to see her mother one last time. they gave her a female friendship that helped develop her character beyond the men in her life, and in the last season they don’t even seem close anymore. they had to remove max from her life so mike could be the center and so she could say that he’s the one who understands her the most. she was born out of the “born sexy yesterday” trope, she’s mike’s manic pixie dream girl, and to top it all off, she died as one of the most well known misogynistic tropes, the woman in the refrigerator.
they turned her death into a man’s story. her father, who spent every season crying over his daughter’s death, got over it in a matter of months. her friends don’t even mention her. the duffers really wanted to make it seem like mike is the only one who cares, because this is the story of a straight white man. she was only there to be the magical girl who changes his boring life and takes him on an adventure, only to die afterward, because she isn’t a person, she’s a symbol of the male protagonist’s childhood. even her own creators talk about her as if she were a dog, an alien pet of their self insert character.
the same misogynistic story as always.
"screw conformity" yeah and have the bleakest heterosexual couple have the bleakest love story of all time ever and use your only gay main character's feelings to further that bullshit I HAVE TO LAUGH i wish i could spit in the duffer brothers' faces
The Mike Wheeler character assassination will be studied for years to come
I’m going to #kms what was that
So like. Elmax reunion basically nonexistent. Disney channel coming out scene. El and Hopper having the same arguments they’ve had every season. Apparently Jancy breakup? El won’t stop mewing. Mike got replaced with a cardboard cutout.
Me to the duffers if Mike isn’t dealing with internalized homophobia and is actually just a shit boyfriend and a shit best friend:
Max while comatose for some reason I guess
So basically all I’ve gathered over the past ten years is that the Duffer brothers HATE Will
Vickie: Who is that? Robin: Shit.
Stranger Things, Ch 1: The Crawl (S05E01) / Ch 3: The Turnbow Trap (S05E03)
Fuck you have to be happy about son
ROBIN AND WILL BONDING??? We are being FED omfg
Mike and Nancy in the hospital together they’re so siblings ugh
Robin running a radio show. I repeat. ROBIN RUNNING ARADIO SHO
Things I am not emotionally prepared to see in the post-rescue timeline (but are inevitable):
•Shauna getting pregnant with Callie and being haunted by constant flashbacks/hallucinations of her pregnancy with Wilderness Baby. Giving birth to Callie but feeling a cold, hollow disconnection because she’s terrified to love another child.
•Nat in a string of relationships/hookups with toxic men who treat her like shit because that’s what she’s been conditioned to believe she deserves. Watching her relapse after being sober in the wilderness. Enduring drug overdoses, failed rehab attempts, and nights in jail. Watching her live a lonely, nomadic life with no home.
•Travis returning home and having to lie to his mother about how his brother and father died, swallowing the knowledge that she believes the wrong son survived. Having to walk past Javi’s room everyday and see all of his pictures and belongings still strewn all over the house.
•Taissa and Van breaking up, with Van privately wondering if staying in the wilderness like Tai wanted would have meant they’d still be together. Van having to watch Tai move on publicly and act like she’s unaffected by it all.
•Lottie slipping into catatonia and being shuffled through psych wards for most of her adult life, which is exactly what she feared would happen and why she never wanted to leave the wilderness.
•Misty losing contact with the other survivors and returning to being the desperately lonely social outcast. Filling her time hanging pictures of her and the team on her walls and keeping tabs on the other YJs to maintain the feeling of belonging she once had with them.
•Nat and Travis locked in toxic cycles, pulling each other back into relapse, unable to stay apart even as they both know they’re poison together, being both each other’s refuge and ruin. Seeing the how their suicide pact comes to be.
•Shauna losing all of her potential when she marries Jeff and assumes the facade of a quiet, docile housewife.
•The survivors returning home and having to face the grieving, questioning families of the people they killed and ate.
•Media scrutiny, invasive questions, and the survivors seeing their trauma turned into tabloid headlines.
•Cutting contact with one another to avoid the pain of shared memories, leaving each survivor isolated and deprived of the rare bond with people who actually understand what they endured.
•All of them wishing they could go back.
your edible is never going to kick in because you're a bad person
