hey i just wanted to ask you whether you got an answer to your question you posted today? because i live in Berlin (too) and i'm in the same situation as you (not pagan or wiccan or anything like that but i'm very interested in knowing more about it) - oh and i hope you'll enjoy your time here!
Please, contact me over email or something, so I can let u know when i get there :)No, I still haven't got an answer but i hope I'll get one soon ^^ But also I will try to find it on my own when i get there, then i'll probably write a post about it.
I need your help my friends!
Soon, I will move to Germany. Currenty I live in Croatia, in really, reeeeally small town and now I will live in Berlin for a while. My question is - where I can find pagan related groups there ( in Berlin )? I still don't know german language so it's hard for me to simply google it :D So if u know any groups, shops, bookstores - anything pagan/spiritual/witchy related, please let me know.
I am not pagan or wiccan or anything like it but I would like to meet some pagans/wiccans/witches/treehugers/demons/angels/mythology/deities/nondeitic religion/ or just people interested in occultism.
“Why are we embarrassed by silence? What comfort do we find in all the noise?”
— Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie (via astraeia)
Because then we can hear ourselves. Our biggest fears and mistakes, our mind go wild, digging up all the bad things we done, not just the bad ones, the good ones too. But that mixture of memories and emotions, we just can't handle them. That's why we can't stand silence. Silence eat us.

Feeling emotionally or physically overwhelmed in crowds
Feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders
Having random mood swing (angry, sad, scared, etc) that have nothing to do with your life
Have a hard time falling asleep before midnight or procrastinate going to bed
Have physical symptoms that related to hearing (ringing, popping, itching in the ear canal)
Feel emotionally uncomfortable when having sex (anxious, no sex drive, angry)

Mythology from Asturias (north of Spain)
I thought this may be useful or inspiring for some people (especially Dark Fantasy writers). There are many more, but these are the most common creatures:
-Xana: They are nymphs of nordic features (normally as tall, slender naked women with long golden hair). They live near rivers or lakes and are usually found sweing with golden thread or combing their hair with combs also made of gold. With their treasures, they lure men to them, eventually turning them into their slaves. The children of the Xanas are called xaninos and depicted as ugly and hairy with sharp teeth. As the Xanas can’t breastfeed them they usually change them for human babies while their mothers are washing in the river.
-Cuélebre: They are enormous snakes who keep treasures or act as wardens for the Xanas. As they are immortal, with the passing of the years, their scales become thick as stone and membranous wings grow from their back, practically becoming dragons. They say that the only way to kill one, is to feed them hot coals or a piece of bread full of needles. When they are really old, they bring their treasures to the bottom of the sea and rest there.
-El Nuberu: He’s the shepherd of the storms and the clouds. He’s usually represented as a man with a thick white beard wearing goatskin clothes and a hat. He can destroy the harvests of those who anger him but he can also be beneficial. To stop him from bringing the rain to a village, people used to bury knifes pointing to the sky, in order to burst his clouds.
-Trasgo : He’s a small goblin or pixie, dressed in red. He has a hole in his left hand. He lives in houses and tends to prank the inhabitants of the home. If he’s treated good and feed, he can help cleaning the house, the clothes and the dishes. One of the many ways to get rid of him is to ask him to bring water or grains with his left hand or to bring water in a basket, as these tasks are impossible for him, he will become upset and leave.
-Guaxa: She’s a terrible old woman with just one shapt tooth. At night she enters homes where children live and slowly sucks their bloodfrom their arteries. She will repeat this each night util they are dead.
-Güestia or Santa Compaña: It’s a large procession of spirits, heralds of death. They wear white hooded robes and carry bones who produce fire as candles. They usually say “Walk in the day, as the night belongs to me” as a litany. Seeing them means that your future death is near. The leader of the procession is a mortal man or woman, condemned to his task. He usually searchs for other mortals to pas shis curse to, to avoid becoming one of the spirts. If they arrive to your home, you must draw a pentacle on the floor and stay inside it, even if they call you with the voice of your loved ones.
-Ayalgues: They are fairy-like small women with bbutterfly or dragonfly wings. They are said to be proncesses cursed to custody treasures. They usually lead men to these treasures to be finally free. They are usually warded by cuélebres.
-Llavanderes: They are old women who wash clothes at night in the rivers. If you see them, they will nicely invite you to wash with them. But, if you refuse or look directly at their faces, they will drown you. They can command the rivers to extinguish forest fires.
-Espumeros: They are childlike pixies who live in seafoam. They dress with algae and seashells that are given to them by the mermaids. The dark haired ones have shining eyes and guide the ships at night. The blond ones are messengers and they carry messages from the sailors to their families.
-Moros or Mouros: while their name means “moor” in spanish, they have nothing to do with muslims. They are a race of human-like creatures who live underground in stone palaces. They work the metal and jewelery and are incredibly rich. The men are usually dark skinned and the women are red-haired and possess magical powers. They love eating, drinking wine and dancing at night.
-Ventolinos: They are beautiful pixies who live in the air and in the moonlight. They carry the sighs of lovers and the last words of a father to his son if they are apart. They also sing lullabies to babies and songs for the Xanas to dance.
-Pataricu: They are giants who live in the legendary islands of Eonavia and Eonaviega. The only have one eye and a very developed sense of smell, which helps them detect shipwrecks and find food.
-Pesadiellu: He’s the personification of nightmares and is usually represented as a devil with a huge hand on his back. He lays this hand over the had of people to give them nightmares. He also appears to travellers, exerting pressure on their bodies and making them faint.

Purifying Salt Mixes
I use salt to purify pretty much everything. I have three different “blends” of salt at the moment:
Natron - used in my Kemetic practice, and to purify the tools and things on/for Bast’s shrine.
Floor mix - this is what I use when purifying my general sacred space, especially when casting Circle, and was designed to be sprinkled on the floor, and hoovered up after the ritual. This was made with fine salt, basil, rosemary, parsley, chamomile and has a large chunk of amethyst that’s kept in the jar.
Crystal/Tools mix - This is the one I use for purifying my tarot decks, as well as the obvious things in the title of it. This is made of chunky sea salt (partially coloured either light blue or purple, if that works for you), lemon oil, rosemary/thyme/parsley, light blue or purple glitter (if the colouring didn’t work… coughmecough) and 7 small amethyst chips mixed in. This mix is designed to sit in a bowl, purify your tools, then go back in its jar. I’m guessing this has a shelf life that depends on how much you use it, and how much cleansing it has to do for each tool.
neuromorphogenesis:
Strange Sleep Disorder Makes People See ‘Demons’
When filmmaker Carla MacKinnon started waking up several times a week unable to move, with the sense that a disturbing presence was in the room with her, she didn’t call up her local ghost hunter. She got researching.
Now, that research is becoming a short film and multiplatform art project exploring the strange and spooky phenomenon of sleep paralysis. The film, supported by the Wellcome Trust and set to screen at the Royal College of Arts in London, will debut in May.
Sleep paralysis happens when people become conscious while their muscles remain in the ultra-relaxed state that prevents them from acting out their dreams. The experience can be quite terrifying, with many people hallucinating a malevolent presence nearby, or even an attacker suffocating them. Surveys put the number of sleep paralysis sufferers between about 5 percent and 60 percent of the population.
“I was getting quite a lot of sleep paralysis over the summer, quite frequently, and I became quite interested in what was happening, what medically or scientifically, it was all about,” MacKinnon said.
Her questions led her to talk with psychologists and scientists, as well as to people who experience the phenomenon. Myths and legends about sleep paralysis persist all over the globe, from the incubus and succubus (male and female demons, respectively) of European tales to a pink dolphin-turned-nighttime seducer in Brazil. Some of the stories MacKinnon uncovered reveal why these myths are so chilling.
Sleep stories
One man told her about his frequent sleep paralysis episodes, during which he’d experience extremely realistic hallucinations of a young child, skipping around the bed and singing nursery rhymes. Sometimes, the child would sit on his pillow and talk to him. One night, the tot asked the man a personal question. When he refused to answer, the child transformed into a “horrendous demon,” MacKinnon said.
For another man, who had the sleep disorder narcolepsy (which can make sleep paralysis more common), his dream world clashed with the real world in a horrifying way. His sleep paralysis episodes typically included hallucinations that someone else was in his house or his room — he’d hear voices or banging around. One night, he awoke in a paralyzed state and saw a figure in his room as usual.
“He suddenly realizes something is different,” MacKinnon said. “He suddenly realizes that he is in sleep paralysis, and his eyes are open, but the person who is in the room is in his room in real life.”
The figure was no dream demon, but an actual burglar.
Myths and science of sleep paralysis
Sleep paralysis experiences are almost certainly behind the myths of the incubus and succubus, demons thought have sex with unsuspecting humans in their sleep. In many cases, MacKinnon said, the science of sleep paralysis explains these myths. The feeling of suffocating or someone pushing down on the chest that often occurs during sleep paralysis may be a result of the automatic breathing pattern people fall into during sleep. When they become conscious while still in this breathing pattern, people may try to bring their breathing under voluntary control, leading to the feeling of suffocating.
Add to that the hallucinations that seem to seep in from the dream world, and it’s no surprise that interpretations lend themselves to demons, ghosts or even alien abduction, MacKinnon said.
What’s more, MacKinnon said, sleep paralysis is more likely when your sleep is disrupted in some way — perhaps because you’ve been traveling, you’re too hot or too cold, or you’re sleeping in an unfamiliar or spooky place. Those tendencies may make it more likely that a person will experience sleep paralysis when already vulnerable to thoughts of ghosts and ghouls.
“It’s interesting seeing how these scientific narratives and the more psychoanalytical or psychological narratives can support each other rather than conflict,” MacKinnon said.
Since working on the project, MacKinnon has been able to bring her own sleep paralysis episodes under control — or at least learned to calm herself during them. The trick, she said, is to use episodes like a form of research, by paying attention to details like how her hands feel and what position she’s in. This sort of mindfulness tends to make scary hallucinations blink away, she said.
“Rationalizing it is incredibly counterintuitive,” she said. “It took me a really long time to stop believing that it was real, because it feels so incredibly real.”

Spontaneous fasting
Ok, I realized that for the last three days I haven't eat anything normal. I feel like my body wants to fast :O And I can't get enough of sleep. I feel weird and calmed for the last three days. I am spontaneously going throught somekind of cleansing time probably. I have no explanation of my behaviour but I am letting myself to do what she needs to do.
Also I stumbled upon lot of interesting blogs, and I am happy to have new people on my dashboard and investigate different paths and beliefs system ^^
Since I don't have a certain "path" I would follow, I was thinking and wondering what topics interest me so I will make my interest list, just so I can direct myself somewhere :)

…okay
So i asked something simple, how will my exam be like tomorrow, and I got that calming picture of the beach, but the sea was little disturbed and there was lot of rocks which I would intepret like this : Well the exam at first glance will look pretty easy. U will be calmed and unworried. Then u will sit calmly into your seat, look at the test and then the reality would hit u and then u will see that it wasn't so easy as it looked at the first look. But u won't loose your willpower and u will struggle and fighting with all that tasks u don't really know how to solve but in the end... U'll get your results that depends of amount of time u spent by the book.
OMG I am awesome at intepreting things :D
Storm Witch's Guide to Trancing
originally posted by brynja-storm:
I’ve gotten this question a couple of times. “Hey Brynja, I want to try trance work, but I don’t know where to start!”
Well dear reader, let’s start with the basics.
1. What is a trance?
A trance is an altered state of mind that generally leaves one more receptive to psychic/spiritual/astral experiences.
Now, you’re probably think to yourself “well, that’s all mighty grand and all, but how the hell do I get there?” Keep your pants on darling, that’s the next thing on the list.
2. Various Methods of Trancing.
The best advice I can give you is this: find what works for you. Not everyone dances to the beat of the same drum, so not every method is going to work for you. Experiment and practice. That being said, let’s cover some trancing methods, shall we?
repetitive rhythm such as drums or bells.
repetitive motion
music
meditation
dancing
fasting
alcohol
drugs*
herbs*
This is not an exhaustive list. I am not a trance guru, so I can’t tell you every way to induce a trance. Also, I am not promoting or condoning any illegal behavior, merely providing resources.
Okay, so now you have a feel of how to get yourself there. Now, I’m sure you want to know how to come out of it.
I come out of trances very easily. A sudden noise breaks my concentration and I’m done. However, not everyone is like that. If you are using music, meditation, dancing or repetitive noise or rhythm, set an alarm or a disruption to break the cycle. The change should jerk your brain back to this plane. You can also try working yourself out of it gently.
3. Aftercare.
Sometimes trances leave people exhausted and feeling really icky. That’s normal, but you need to make sure you take care of yourself. Have water and a snack handy. Preferably something with carbs, that will ground you fairly quickly. A bath or shower can also help rejuvenate you after trancework.
With that basic knowledge under your belt, you’re about ready to get to work. Any questions ladies and gentlemen?
**If you are going to use either of these, DO YOUR RESEARCH. For the love of all that’s holy, don’t go trying random drugs and herbs out willy-nilly. Make sure that brain is still in working order before you jump off the deep end.
