Y'all can talk for 93 straight hours about how they’re “just adopted” but they are LITERALLY SIBLINGS. No matter which way you slice it they were raised together, are siblings, and consider each other as such. Additionally, Allison has huge bisexual energy and even if they won’t let her have a girlfriend, she at least deserves a better man than Luther (and, again, someone who isn’t her brother).
Could have been cute if Leonard wasn’t a murderer who hated her family and weaponized Vanya against them, and if she wasn’t a huge and obvious lesbian. Their meet-cute had potential if anything Leonard said had been true. Vanya had so little exposure to love that Leonard’s manipulation felt like affection.
The constantly-fighting-but-have-obvious-history-and-chemistry trope would have been fun to explore if it was like. Actually allowed to be explored. The sexual tension between the hardass cop and dauntless vigilante may be overused, but is still fun nonetheless. The ups-and-downs of their relationship and how they deal with it would definitely have been interesting if Patch hadn’t died.
A sixty-year-old in the body of a 14-year old, in love with a literal mannequin. A little weird? Yes. But heartwarming regardless? Absolutely. Five genuinely cares about her and is super protective of Dolores, and wackiness is just part of the equation of this show. Obviously this is semi-joking, but Dolores was all Five had for literal decades and a definite one-sided connection undoubtedly exists/existed.
Everyone say thank you to Gerard Way for gay rights! Hopefully there’s some way that their relationship can be further developed in a later season (fingers crossed for renewal!). Klaus knew Dave for only about a year, but in that time he became the most important person to him, to the point where Dave gave Klaus a reason to get sober. Klaus had the hardest time coping with his powers, but all he really needed was someone who loved him genuinely (and not because of said powers). Also the potential of more 70s-aesthetic Klaus is reason enough to bring Dave back.
Who among us hasn’t dreamed of quitting our job to go with the unexpected love of our life to live in the middle of nowhere and be just the two of us and some birds? Hazel and Agnes were both unsatisfied with their normal routine, found each other by chance, and decided, “fuck it, this person is absolutely worth it,” and I think that’s beautiful. And if one of them just happens to have been a former assassin, what about it?
