Googled something about quick hydration and it suggested big jug of water, couple tbsp pickle juice, dash of lime juice.

Pleased to report that after a day of this i am not longer craving caper brine and my mouth is not dry as usual. There's some good suggestions in the notes too that I want to try.

-ancient roman posca: water, red or white wine vinegar, honey, salt, herbs (coriander, mint, thyme)

-switchel: water, ginger, vinegar, sweetener, lemon, salt

-ayran: yogurt, water, salt, mint

-Agua pepino: water, cucumbers, lime, sugar, optional mint.

In the original stream, Vox Machina fails in stopping Vecna's ritual.

No. I don't mean they get tricked, or that they did what Vecna had planned.

I mean they arrive. They try to stop it. They fight Vecna.

And they get crushed.

Mechanically, it was a winnable fight according to Matt. but regardless, the execution was Vox Machina at their most powerful getting their asses handed to them by the strongest opponent they ever faced. so much so that they are forced to retreat with their barely alive companions and a dead Vax.

And I get it they want to keep it fresh and give a new spin but also remain true to things. and that a cunning enemy can be better than a powerful one.

But there was something so haunting of a vox machina who did their best, only for it to not leave even a scratch

And I have thoughts.

I liked a good deal of yet, again many of the changes came across not as additive but over all reductive.

Like what do you mean Scanlan wasn’t there to see Vax die?

What do you mean Pike so readily attacked and betrayed her friends?

It’s an odd time when Grog Strongjaw is the most sensible person in the room!

What do you mean they took nearly ALL the fire and justification out of the Bard’s Lament?!

And then you have Gideon, who I like, I do indeed really like how Andy Serkis portrays him.

*BUT* I personally don’t like the continued hammering of the anti-god narrative.

It lacks nuance in a way that annoys the hell out of me

I’m hoping season 5 shows the Primes in a better light… because the whole last arc of C1 was the Vox working alongside the Primes to stop him!

Yet in so far the show has only really felt like a retreading of C3 where we’re *told* why the gods ain’t shit, from the LEAST trust worthy people but the heroes just fuckin buy in anyway.

And for those who haven’t seen Campaign 1/2 your also just meant to take that at face value.

When those who *have* watched them know that’s not accurate.

It’s all very contrived.

I’m sorry she just… comes off as a lot dumber that she did in the campaign… and I take umbrage with that. She’s meant to be wise, but she seems to be severely lacking.

I’m not sure if I’m alone in this, and I’ll probably catch some flack but I needed to get this out.

Now I know for those of you have been here long enough, know me to be the glass half full type of guy, but the glass isn’t even half full to begin with here…

It has me worry not just for next season, but M9 as well which I enjoyed WAY more, and how the gods will be depicted there. I loved Melora, and right now it seems like they may have removed Kord entirely from Yasha’s story.

It’s gonna be real fuckin annoying if the specter of C3 continues to alter the stories I love for the *worse*.

You guys I'm so excited for the Edimburgh live show in a month!! I've never been to a live show so I don't really know what to expect but I can't wait! I'm a little bummed that the Happy Fun Ball one with Essek will be in Berlin, but still... it's gonna be amazing!

Listen, it pains me to bring up that crap that is Harry Potter but... I need to make a clear example here: so you are watching an on screen adaptation of HP and it's accurate enough, some necessary changes, but the spirit is there ... Then Ron dies. Hermione becomes mad with grief, fights harry and decides to help Voldemort. I'm not saying that it's uninteresting, damn actually it might be a good and compelling plot to explore... But ... It's not HP. Do you get what I mean?

Thank you for this because, admittedly, I'm not a big Keyleth fan, but I always appreciated her as a character, I could see why she could be appealing to someone else. Just not my personal taste. And I felt there was something wrong or missing in this animated keyleth. And with your comment I think it clicked: Keyleth plot and conflict was mostly her learning to be the Tempest, embrace her power and leadership role. But there was little to nothing about that in the series. It all revolved around her relationship with Vax. Not even that much about her dread of being the last one alive of Vox Machina in the end, having to lose ALL of her friends, not just Vax. Again, I know that all of this was approved by the cast ... But it's so strange? I don't know what to think.

Papercraft commission of Jester, Caleb, Nott, and Essek (and Frumpkin)! I've been moseying my way through Critical Role and having a lot of fun listening, and was thus very excited for my first time making art of any of the Mighty Nein! (I haven't reached Essek yet but I'm really looking forward to him :D) Plus I always have enormous fun with multi-figure compositions, so this one was extra delightful to make!

In Ep8, I noticed that after the Epic Bard Battle™️, no one bothered to heal Scanlan, like, at all?

Pike deadass went up to him, confessed her feelings but didn’t actually bother to heal the burn wounds and the literal burst eardrum. Go heal him if he matters that much to you 😭

Idk, maybe I’m being too harsh but they just kinda rocked up, Pike confessed her feelings, and then buggered off with Mythcarver. It felt so nasty that they straight up didn’t bother to check up on the guy who just saved their asses from the Evil Australian Bard. Especially Pike, go heal your supposed love interest, actually show that you care 🫩

We all know how that moment when Scanlan decides to use Wish to stop Vecna instead of saving Vax is one of the highest moments in the campaign.

We don't have "Wish" in the series, but I feel like this Flower is being presented as a miracle, Deus ex Machina sort of thing that can make one impossible happen for the gang.

What I'm saying is that if they turn the wish thing in a Vaxleth thing I WILL BE MAD. sorry.

Just finished episode 9 of tlovm.

I'm not sure what to think about this drastic narrative decision they made. I guess it makes sense outside the context of the campaign and in the context of the animated series; the stakes are higher now for sure and I think this "version" of the story needed higher stakes at this point. So yes, I get it. But I can't help thinking that actually they just didn't really know what to do with Grog as a character and they thought killing him would be a "better use" for him. And I'm not sure I'm into that. Also this makes it feel like Grog was just functional to Pike's new storyline, which is fair because Pike had no "Storyline" for out-of-game reasons, so they had to come up with something ... Bu is it worth it to get rid of Grog to give Pike purpose?

And of course I need to talk about my boy Vax because I'm really confused on what they they are trying to do here, can't wait for them to get to the point (I'm surely missing). Because a Goddess wouldn't cripple her champion right? She would want him strong to fight her NUMBER ONE ENEMY, right? Why curse him? Yeah, campaign Vax had the blight but it wasn't painful or debilitating, just a reminder of his limited time, his pact. And Kiki is looking for a cure ... My problem is that I can't make sense of it, but maybe it will make sense in the end... Like I'm still missing context and information.
