It occurred to me that Fitzwilliam "in vain I have struggled" Darcy spent some time-- probably days--in whatever baroque-ass rooms he stays at in Rosings Park preplanning the exact wording of his proposals to Lizzy.
The absolute beauty of knowing that he probably wrote it out and rehearsed and the end result was... that.
"I will tell her that her parents suck and her family sucks and she personally kind of sucks and then I'll ask her to marry me. My plan is flawless."

A new Vox Machina one-shot on the 26th October!
Can't wait to see my beloved Vaxleth and what their relationship is like after reuniting💕
Edit: Just realised there's a different one on the 3rd of December about Vox Machina too. It's Grog-focused but all of VM appear. So 2 one-shots featuring Vaxleth🤞

Nick Robles’ horny Nightcrawler art…
He made him furry! Like visibly so. Most artists leave that part out completely.
I love animation history and one of the things that always baffled me was how did animators draw the cars in 101 Dalmatians before the advent of computer graphics?
Any rigid solid object is extremely challenging for 2D artists to animate because if one stray line isn’t kept perfectly in check, the object will seem to wobble and shift unnaturally.
Even as early as the mid 80’s Disney was using a technique where they would animate a 3D object and then apply a 2D filter to it. This practice could be applied to any solid object a character interacts with: from lanterns a character is holding, to a book (like in Atlantis), or in the most extreme cases Cybernetic parts (like in Treasure Planet).
But 101 Dalmatians was made WAY before the advent of this technology. So how did they do the Cruella car chase sequence at the end of the film?
The answer is so simple I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me sooner:
They just BUILT the models and painted them white with black outlines 🤣
That was the trick. They’re not actually 2D animated, they’re stop motion. They were physical models painted white and filmed on a white background. The black outlines become the lineart lines and they just xeroxed the frame onto an animation cel and painted it like any other 2D animated frame.
That’s how they did it! Isn’t that amazing? It’s such a simple low tech solution but it looks so cool in the final product.

I want to learn more exclamations that aren’t strictly just religious stuff. “Jesus Christ” this, “oh my god” that, nah I want something fresh.
What are some of y’all’s favorite exclamations that aren’t about god?
first submission and we're already off to a fantastic start. absolutely love this one thank you
ok its time for the challenge round now we want nominations that arent about sex either actually
had a friend who used to make new ones up on the spot. The only one that stuck with me was 'good golly jelly beans'. If something catastrophic happens I go for 'that's not ideal.'
i yelled fuck my ass at a slow pedestrian earlier this week bc what i normally yell got all tangled up
Unfortunately I don't believe this translates very well to English, but in Italian, when something goes wrong and we don't want to say rude words or bring God into it we could say:
"e che cavolo!"
Which is something like "what cabbage!". It's very hard to translate.
Personally I use a more rare, possibly regional, exclamation:
"Mannaggia i pesci/pescetti!"
Which is, loosely "Damn does fishes/little fishes". "Mannaggia" in general is a way to say "too bad" or "Oh no!". "Mannaggia" Is also not considered a rude word, actually it's used mostly with kids and most adults stop using it at some points and start using regular curse words.
I burned my thumb on the heater today at work. I'm all alone at my ticket office station, no one else in the building with me. I can't leave the desk because of the money. One might say it's a series of unfortunate events.
I need to cool down the burn though. I have a thermic water bottle with cold water inside but the level is too low I can't submerge my thumb in it. So I see the glass that's being used as a pen holder. I empty it and pour the cold water in and submerge my thumb. It's feeling a lot better now.
Thanks Violet Baudelaire for teaching me to invent solutions where it looks like there's none.
