My InvisoBang Artwork!
Yes, I am late to this. Blame my workload.
Anywayyy, I was an artist on Invisobang for the story Cradle-to-Cradle by WillaKK. I was one of the artists alongside tinyspectre who made an absolutely gorgeous piece.
Now that all my art is published in the fanfic, I'd like to share them on my tumblr and any thoughts I had on it.
One of the first pieces I did for chapter 3. It's an interaction between Danny and an OC named Andy. For this piece, I wanted the hand (Andy) to contrast, foreboding as it comes from the darkness before resting itself on Danny's shoulder in comfort. The blue of the hand's background is also meant to be a lot calmer than Danny's drippy red background.
My second piece from chapter 9. I'll be honest, I am not as happy with this piece. I went for a more shaded and detailed look. The palette is an offshoot of the first one with more colors. I wanted a piece where both characters (Danny and another OC) are talking to one another in a gazebo. I had a tough time picturing the background, which is why it is left in a blue gradient. There's a lot I could've done better.
The very last piece I did was for chapter 11. I went back to using the original palette which I think helped me get into the groove of things.. I liked this much better since I returned to my normal shading style. I also like the background I did, though I wish I included more galaxy designs. I spent a lot of time making Valerie's suit make sense from behind as I didn't have a lot of references.
All in all, I had a fun time during Invisobang! I cranked out 2 pieces I'm relatively proud of and I got to experiment with different techniques.
