stop reconnecting with toxic people from your past because you’re lonely. focus on getting better and attracting better.

My memory is like a pomegranate. Shall I open it over you and let it scatter, seed by seed: red pearls befitting a farewell that asks nothing of me except forgetfulness?

Blogs only opening in sidebar?
Is this some kind of new ‘feature’ Tumblr rolled out? Because I can’t access several other blogs and they keep redirecting me to the sidebar on my dashboard and it’s making me a cranky gossa…
-Catalan Mod, Cranky Stallion
I don’t think so? Do you mean the blog opens up on the side or it literally redirects you to the sidebar with your blog activity and such?
Here’s a few things to try:
clear your cache and cookies
close browser then reopen and try again (i know it sounds lame, but sometimes it works)
turn off your tumblr extensions one by one (if you have them), then try to do what you wanted to do after you turn off each one. If it stops, then you know which extension might have been the root of the problem.
Other than that, I haven’t a clue.

Already tried them all, no avail. It redirects me to the sidebar, even when opening in a new tab. I’ve seen this trending with a few blogs this past week and a half and every situation I’ve tried comes to no avail. Even trying Firefox in safe mode just redirects me to the sidebar with these blogs.
-Catalan Mod
Okay. Is it like this?
Because if so, here’s the easy way to do it. Usually by clicking the icon or the link it should open in a new window. At least, that’s how I have my browser set. (All links open in new tabs for me.) If not, then try right clicking and open in new tab or window. If that doesn’t work, then I’m all out of ideas.
Pardon the Spongebob example. It was the only benign thing I could find on my dash.
-Southern Mod, Temporary Tech Support
Oddly enough, Tumblr doesn’t do this for me anymore, unless it’s an XKit extension that’s preventing it from doing so.
After WEEKS of not being able to access my archive page, or open my blog in anything other than the sidebar, I have finally sorted it out, thanks to this advice! The problem was that in my Privacy settings I had selected not to allow logged out users to see my content. In doing so it also prevented logged IN users seeing my blog properly. Simply click to allow logged out users to see and the problem is fixed!
This is so stupid. So if I don’t want people not logged in to not view my blog, I’m preventing my own self, who is logged in from viewing my blog separately from my dashboard? Here’s for people not in the know.
I just learned about the “Husband Stitch” a few days ago and i’m still fucking mortified. Women’s bodies do not exist for the pleasure of their boyfriends or husbands.
Doctors who perform this procedure without the consent of the pregnant person are evil misogynists, undeserving of the privilege of working with pregnant women and other people.
Oh my god, nooooo.
If this is done incorrectly (and yes, I know someone this was done incorrectly to) it makes sex really uncomfortable, like realllly uncomfortable, and can require follow-up surgery to fix. The person I know who this was done to ended up with the, uh, outside getting the ‘husband stitch’ but the inside… not? So she ended up with a little ‘lip’ of tissue that would get seriously irritated during sex, and over a decade later had to have another doctor go back in and snip that ‘extra stitch’ open.
Yes, it was that bad.
I would recommend reading this article and then reading Carmen Maria Machado’s The Husband Stich.
An excerpt from the above article:
I was first introduced to the husband stitch in 2014, when a friend in medical school told me about a birth her classmate observed. After the baby was delivered, the doctor said to the woman’s husband, “Don’t worry, I’ll sew her up nice and tight for you,” and the two men laughed while the woman lay between them, covered in her own and her baby’s blood and feces. The story terrified me, the laughter in particular, signaling some understanding of wrongdoing, some sheepishness in doing it anyway. The helplessness of the woman, her body being altered without her consent by two people she has to trust: her partner, her doctor.
So many people don’t even know what this is. The Wikipedia article on the husband stitch was published this month.
Just adding my voice that this is indeed real and it was done to me. I haven’t enjoyed sex since I had my son and honestly I’m concerned about having a second child because I was so “small” the first time around I ended up with 3rd degree tearing.
Yes I have that same lip and the only reason I never went back to get it fixed is the conception/birth was so traumatic I couldn’t bring myself to be touched like that by doctors for years.
Just, be aware and let someone advocate for you when you’re in labor. Ask your OBGYN their thoughts on this and choose carefully.
Bitch wha?!!!??

There’s nothing in life quite like autumn. Misty mornings and rainy afternoons. The crisp cool feeling that hangs in the air. A sense of warmth that comes from within. It’s nothing less than magical, really.
