While shooting this short documentary for the #WastedTalent album I realized that when you come from public housing your perspective is different. When you see rats, roaches, pissy staircases, alcohol, and drugs people conceptualize it as being the undisputed norm. When you go to public school and you have to be searched by security every morning, that will institutionalize a child like a prison would. When Gun shots are flying in your neighborhood windows that becomes all the motivation you should ever need to get out of that living Situation. Those should be the pillars of what drives you to rise up from the trenches and move up. Everyone is talented no matter where you come from. So for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working diligently on this #WastedTalent project for Jim Jones Album with @gettivisions In his upcoming album Wasted Talent, Jim Jones speaks the truth and paints a vivid picture of the value in life for his listeners. Now, he wants to transform that message into a visual. Jones is looking for individuals who feel as if they may have ‘wasted’ their big opportunity in life. Whether you went to prison, sacrificed your dreams for someone else, or made a huge mistake that changed your life forever - we want to hear about it. I will dive into my life story in a way that captures the loss of my mother, Divulge in my perspective of what “wasted talent” means to me. I really want my story to be shared around be the world.
