As part of our pretty birds for pretty boys initiative, we at the herps and birds team (me) dedicate this incredible and highly favored bird to @wertfi-penguin.

Red-crested Turaco (Tauraco erythrolophus), family Musophagidae, order Musophagiformes, endemic to western Angola

Considered to have a loud monkey-like call.

Frugivorous (fruit eating).

Capable of eating fruits that are toxic to humans and other mammals.

Usually seen in pairs of flocks of up to 20.

Mainly arboreal.

Both parents care for the eggs and chicks.

The national bird of Angola.

Turacos are also called "loeries" in parts of Africa.

The order Musophagiformes are the Turacos, Plantain-eaters, and Go-away Birds. (Mousebirds are closely related).
