Look, Tobias Forge might not have the conventional "pretty", silky singing voice that a lot of singers have but I still love it to pieces because apart from being able to carry a tune he really just does not give a fuck and full on goes balls to the wall while singin and wails his heart out and the passion he has for what he does really comes across and just lights up my heart.

Sometimes I see pictures of III with a headset thingy in his ear and it looks similar to my hearing aid so like... consider hard of hearing III with hearing aids... yeah man I can rock to that

That’s funny, cause the first time I saw his ear protector I thought it was an aid too! 

Made me think of some ideas of what if he did have one! I hope you enjoy!

Papa III With Hearing Loss + Hearing Aids 

~Was not born with hearing loss. Papa was a young man during the 80′s when music was REALLY embracing rock and new genres. He used to go to a lot of clubs and concerts when he wasn’t in Seminary or studying. Unfortunately, he stood by a malfunctioning speaker that took out a lot of his hearing when it literally went off with a bang. 

~His left ear is worse than his right ear. It’s better to talk to him on his right side so he doesn’t accidentally ignore you. 

~He has a special set of hearing aids and cried when he first got them. Papa was afraid he was never going to hear music again and was so grateful. 

~Papa didn’t have to do so, but he learned how to do ASL. His personal experience and bonding with other hard of hearing members of his Clergy made him want to be more accommodating, as others were to him. Before he was Papa he used to sign a lot of the sermons his brothers gave.

~ Papa also got REALLY good at reading lips. 

~Papa forgets to wear his hearing aids at home a lot, because the lack of sound generally doesn’t bother him. The only time he REALLY wants to hear is if it’s music related or he misses the sound of someone’s voice- which is very important to him. Usually his mind is too preoccupied to really notice if there is sound or not. And as I said, SUPER good at reading lips so he doesn’t struggle to understand people. 

~Papa I was one of the people to help him learn ASL when he first lost his hearing.
