I’m proud to be exhibiting one of my recent works from a limited edition of mixed media prints on black velvet, “Jack Johnson”. The exhibit, Zeitgeist: The Art Scene of Teenage Basquiat at the HOWL! Gallery in NYC. The show looks and feels like many we all took part in back in the days. Finally got to meet and talk with @AnthonyBourdain for his #CNN show #PartsUnknown. He knew all about my cultural history and we have friends in common. He talked about copping heroin in alphabet city when he was an addict and he remembered the names of brands of dope sold on the street back then. We ate at one of my lower east side faves, “Castillo” on Rivington off of Essex, one of the last classic latin spots remaining. The downtown scene then and now is the topic and it will air next season. (at New York, New York)

One of the Greatest rappers died on this day, 🙏🏾March 9th over 2 decades ago, The Notorious B.I.G. His life and legacy live on and for sure, he’ll never be forgotten. Here’s some of the interview I did with him back in the mid 90’s as he was on the rise to the top of the charts, his 1st time on national television doing my show, YO! MTV Raps where heads from hood to hood got to see and hear one of the realest speak his mind. I’ll cherish the fond memories of chillin puffing blunts with B.I.G. as he’d pick my brain about my film #WildStyle and what rappers I thought were the best. (at New York, New York)

I got on stage to talk about how I was instrumental in getting her signed to Tommy Boy records and directed her 1st two music videos, “Dance For Me” & “Ladies First”, which also featured @darealmonielove who was there and in the photo. So proud of all Latifah has accomplished and amazed at my ability to pick #WINNERS‼️ (at Miami Beach, Florida)

I was in #Ghana West Africa last week for the 1st time and met filmmaker and local impresario @iammusala. Feeling the vibe I Instantly decided to let him capture the moment. And indeed he did as we stumbled onto one of many places in Ghana captured #Africans were held to be shipped to the Americas and sold into #Slavery. #NeverAgain and you ALL need to visit the motherland instead of just Mexico, Rio, the Caribbean etc to see where all life on 🌍 earth begins.
