The next time you start feeling blue Portland, OR-based artist Brooke Barker is here to provide a little helpful perspective with her ongoing series of Sad Animal Facts. Each day she posts a new cute-but-sad-but-still-cute illustration of an animal along with a fact about their life. Read a few of them and suddenly it’s clear we humans aren’t alone in our suffering because animals have it rough too. Jellyfish are literally heartless, butterflies taste everything they step on, pigs can’t look up to see the sky, and poor squirrels will never know the satisfaction of a good burp:
For many more adorable but sobering insights into the animal kingdom, follow Barker’s Sad Animal Facts right here on Tumblr at sadanimalfacts or on Instagram.
