What?!
Dahlia knew that sometimes Sigurd but picking a fight with a dragon?! Her sword was blasted from her hand and she was thankful to still have a hand. Though the relief was short lived as the dragon looking creature had wings and quickly caught up. It let out a beam that broke the ground around her and she fell, crying out as her ankle twisted. “Sigurd run!” she shouted not wanting him to get hurt because she couldn’t get away. He ran to her, frantically pulling at her sleeve growling slightly. The dragon spun around and got ready to attack with its tail. Dahlia tried to cover Sigurd from the attack but he jumped away. “SIGURD!” she shrieked afraid that it would be the end of her companion.
A bright light blinded her and her heart caught in her throat. Once the light faded their was another creature with.. ribbons? It took care of the dragon like it didn’t even effect it. The dragon fell unconscious and the other creature trotted up to her. “Sigurd?” she murmured as it nudged her face gently with his. Dahlia couldn’t help it, the tears sprang forth and she ended up holding him sobbing, terrified of losing him. For once he didn’t try to get away, only wrapping one of the ribbons around her arm.

x ♫ - AL NIENTE; Wait, who did this Eevee think it was to ‘contribute’ to their disastrous situation?! It decided to follow along with what Leah had said to simply prove a point and see if it may have potentially saved them from the incoming danger but the audacity of this other Eevee! If it were not for the fact that it decided to escape along with her, it had half the mind to…! Nevertheless, these were thoughts that it would address when they were a safe distance away, but it was ready to… well, it was not quite sure why it was so annoyed in the first place, but it would be ready to do something. Something along the lines of annoyed huffs and a show of displeasure. For now, it would accept their common goal of trying to get themselves ( and their humans ) away from danger.
“ Eevee, there’s a..! ” Dahlia’s words were very much heard, but adrenaline kept Leah’s attention in search of a place of escape rather than addressing said words with what would most likely be an inordinate amount of apologies. Eevee brought its gaze over to Leah momentarily, before moving it to what she appeared to be looking at– a shack of sorts, that appeared to be in a rather dilapidated state but no less, was somewhere they could take refuge. It was about to perform yet another tackle to throw the door open when a gust of wind pushed it ajar, making it not necessary to potentially rip their only separation between their pursuers and themselves when they made it into the shack. Cue a loud slam when both parties rushed into the shack, followed by the instantaneous action of herself and Eevee pushing against the door, bracing for impact.
And the impact came. Determined to give them a taste of their own medicine, the door shook with each angry peck made by the individuals of the flock, to an extent she was afraid it may even give way. She was relieved that all of them were now out of immediate danger, but the aggressive shaking of the door was a clear indication that they were yet to be completely out of it. It was rather hard to think of a solution when it took everything out of herself and Eevee to keep said door shut, let alone if she were to let go of it for a moment– But it was a risk she was willing to take when Eevee gave her a nod, leaving her to be all that kept the door shut while it attempted to convince the other Eevee to help push a bookshelf over to take Leah’s place.
Dahlia was relieved to see that the girl and the other creature both managed to escape the flock as well. She was even more relieved when she noticed that they had spotted shelter. “Sigurd!” she called out getting his attention. He nodded before changing course and the unlucky group managed to run in.
The girl and her creature barricaded the door with their bodies while Dahlia stumbled to a stop. Hearing the birds trying to ram the door down was enough for her to finally drop her bag and get into a battle stance. A shield would have been preferable in these conditions since that would at least cover her from the rain of poop that might occur if the birds came in. Birds typically didn’t do well with confined spaces and although this shack provided them shelter it would be their doom if the monsters managed to break in.
Sigurd stared at the door ready to fight the first thing that came. His eyes narrowed at the other creature as it motioned for him to push the bookcase. Even if they were the same species, how dare it order him around! It was a good idea though and Sigurd tried to play it off as if he thought of it himself. Trotting to the bookcase he pushed it with all his strength, ears twitching at the horrible screeching noise. Once it was in front of the door he moved away, giving the other creature a disapproving stare before trotting back to Dahlia.
Now that they weren’t in immediate danger Dahlia glanced around the little shack they ended up in and sighed heavily. “Kind of a dump but conveniently located,” she murmured to herself studying it. “Sorry for dragging you into our mess, this guy just loves to pick fights for no reason,” Dahlia apologized to the other girl feeling like it was the right thing to do. Even though she and her creature tried to fight off the flock, they probably just wanted a leisurely stroll as well.

“...then the three creatures were resurrected and the Phoenix departed looking for a pure heart..” Sigurd had no clue how long Dahlia had been going on about this tower but he made little noises at the appropriate times so she didn’t just ramble to the air. It wasn’t often she talked this much, in fact most of the time was spent with them arguing like she could understand what he was saying. When she bestowed Sigurd his name he got the whole story about the legendary dragon slayer and felt slightly inspired. He too wanted to defeat a fearsome creature much larger than him. It would be the ultimate victory.
His eyes scanned the area, ears twitching slightly looking for anything that would try to pick a fight with them. Sigurd always thought that it was better to have the first strike despite how much Dahlia yelled at him for picking a fight. His thoughts were disrupted as Dahlia suddenly stopped and he ran into the back of her leg. Peaking around he noticed that they really were going to a burnt, crispy looking, tower, one that could crumble at any moment. Staring between the tower and her he couldn’t believe that she yelled at him all the time for nearly killing them when she was willingly walking into that thing. “Eevee eev!” he cried out hoping his astonishment came across as he sat down. His tail thumped against the ground in annoyance as she turned to look at him, already knowing that they would be the ones to somehow destroy the rest of the tower.
Dahlia couldn’t imagine anything more exciting than a place full of history. Even if a phoenix never lived in this tower, or the three unfortunate creatures that perished, a fire did destroy it. Most myths came from very exaggerated truths and the fact that she was actually here, a place from one of her stories, was enough to make her excited. Her excitement was cut of by Sigurd sitting down looking like he was protesting.
“Come on Sigurd, you usually like danger.” “Eev!” “Well if you’re going to be like that just stay, I’ll go in by myself,” she replied taking out her sabre. It wouldn’t help her if the tower decided to collapse but it looked structurally sound from here. Moving forward she heard an irritated huff before Sigurd joined her side. Walking in her eyes widened and a small smile started to form. It was so exciting to explore for once, and she could hardly contain herself. Sigurd kept a wary out for any creatures that took refuge in the wreck or falling debris. He had a feeling they would fight something by the end of the night.

x ♫ - AL NIENTE; Her head hurt. A result of attempting to organize her thoughts regarding her current whereabouts, but more so, desperately attempting to recall any sort of memory at all. Fragmented pieces of knowledge that could only have come from said memories surfaced ever so often– Leah knew that she was in a place called ‘Hoenn’. But not her Hoenn. What was meant by ‘her Hoenn’ was a complete mystery to her as well, and racking her brain in hopes of some sort of answer only helped worsen the headache. Which was certainly, anything but helpful. For now, she remembered these: ‘Pokemon’ was what the creature that followed her was. And… the ‘Pokemon’ before her was called ‘Eevee’. “ …Eevee. ” The name was spoken tentatively and the ‘Pokemon’– or rather, Eevee’s ears twitched in response as it stared back at her and tilted its head to a side. While it was wary and quiet in nature, it was rather comforting that at the very least, Eevee appeared to have placed some semblance of trust in her.
Alas, her exploration of what little knowledge she seemed to mysteriously have of this world would have to be put to an abrupt halt, as a cacophony of noises some distance away caught her and Eevee’s attention. There was a clear silhouette of a flock, one that seemed rather agitated at that… which upon closer inspection, appeared to be chasing a pair much like herself. A person and another Eevee? Though perhaps, she ought to be paying more attention to the fact that she would end up being a part of the approaching chaos if she did not act soon. A low growl emerged from Eevee as it readied itself for potential confrontation, having heard the loud scream that came from the person being chased– yet ready to flee if the situation asked of it. All the while Leah was quite simply… calm. Or rather, dazed?
It appeared that being in a daze was going to be norm for her, at least for now. To which, Eevee took the liberty to break her out of said daze, by aggressively tackling her before running off. What semblance of calmness she had fell apart in an instant from the rude awakening, panic finally settling in upon noticing the flock that was uncomfortably near them now. But much to the Pokemon’s dismay, Leah decided to instead not follow suit in its plan to escape but instead, say mind baffling words that would cause it to question her logic reasoning during such circumstances. Words that would appear even more ridiculous to anyone unfamiliar of the moves Pokemon were able to perform. ( which with where she was, was everyone, but who was she to know? )
“ Sand Attack. ”
A command to… attack? For Eevee? The composer was given a look from it, which was what she could only assume was one of either confusion or disbelief, only for her to seem just as confused. Why was she so calm? Why did she command Eevee to– Why had she given Eevee a command at all? Yet another flurry of thoughts threatened to consume her, but the need to escape this precarious situation finally overtook her body, and she ran over to Eevee with the intention of fleeing together. Only to find it digging its heels into the sand before kicking out its hind legs, causing quite an amount of sand to be hurled at the flock, stalling the pursuit but for a brief moment. At least, the pursuit of what she seemed to have identified as Pokemon, the more hardy looking, aggressive birds appeared unfazed by it, perhaps even angrier than before. Oh well, at least she could say that she tried..?
Dahlia thought the girl would have seen the flock and immediately ran from the impending doom. What she didn’t expect was to see that she also had a creature that looked a lot like Sigurd except... brown? That wasn’t important, what was important was that for some ungodly reason the creature threw sand at the flock of angry birds. Sigurd struggled in her grasp crying out, desperately wanting to join the fight against the angry squawking poop machines. He managed to wiggle free and she nearly tripped over him as he lunged at the flock. To her horror he also thought it was a good idea to kick even more sand at the already sandy, pissed off bird monsters.
“Why must everyone always fight first?! Running away is a perfectly acceptable response in these situations you know!” she shouted to everyone in general before continuing her run. It was rich coming from her considering that she tried to shoo the birds with her sword earlier. Either way she didn’t want to get attacked nor pooped on so she chose to retreat.
A flash of silver signified that Sigurd had decided to retreat for once in his life as well and she was too afraid to look to see if the girl and her creature also decided to retreat of the birds got them. There was no way she was turning around since it would only slow her down. She tried to listen to see if there were running footsteps, which was hard over her own and her duffle bag being thrown around on her back. So much for that relaxing stroll.
ANGRY BIRDS | Leah & Dahlia
@musicographus
It was a beautiful day and Dahlia couldn’t believe it took her this long to visit Hoenn. It was a nice change of pace from Kalos and she found the sea air refreshing. It was a rare moment of peace, one Dahlia knew would end soon. The creature in front of her was sniffing at the ear and suddenly his ears picked up. His tail swished back and forth and to her horror he took off.
“Sigurd please,” she called out but he was already gone, down the road in a flash of silver. Sighing heavily Dahlia tried to catch up to him before he nearly got both of them killed. Again. He stopped short of a seagull, his tail in the air as he wiggled slightly waiting to pounce. “Sigurd!” “Eevee eev!” he snapped back and she crossed her arms over her chest. “Why must we do this everywhere we go, I’d like to have a nice long stroll for once,” she sighed out. It would be nice to actually explore a place without him trying to attack everything that moved.
Sigurd did a mighty battle cry as he lunged at the poor seagull that was just minding it’s own business and it took off. “There are you happy now?” she asked as he pranced around in a circle like he had just won a grand fight. It was ridiculous. There was a terrible squawk and Dahlia turned around seeing two more birds. Sigurd got into pounce mode again and she rolled her eyes.
“Go on shoo! If you know what’s good for you get out of here!” she cried out waving her sword at them in a threatening manner. Not only did she think Sigurd was being ridiculous but she hated seagulls. They often dive bombed people for food, were generally loud and worst of all full of poop. She didn’t need any of that in her life. The birds departed but then she heard more squawking and another strange noise coming from behind. Turning around she did her own version of a battle cry expecting to scare away more of the birds. Instead what she saw was much worse. The seagulls had friends, monster friends.They were giant, pissed off and Dahlia wasn’t sure if she was ready to find out how bad monster poop was.
“Eevee!” Sigurd shouted jumping in front of her looking like he was stupid enough to take on the entire flock. Sad thing was Dahlia knew that’s exactly what he was doing. Dahlia grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and ignored his cries as she took off running, pulling him close to her chest. She had foolishly hoped that if they left the area, the angry, loud flock would leave them be. She was very, very wrong.
“Now look what you’ve done!” she shouted over the pissed off birds as Sigurd struggled in her grasp. Dahlia wasn’t afraid to admit that she was absolutely terrified. Not of getting hurt but by the amount of poop that might rain down upon her if the birds flew over her. It was enough to make her almost consider dumping her duffel bag. To her horror another girl was up ahead, blissfully unaware of the chaos that Dahlia was about to bring into her life.
“RUN!” she screamed over the very pissed off birds not wanting the girl to have the same horrible fate. Dahlia wouldn’t even wish that fate on her worst enemy.
{ Oleum: If one song were to describe your life, what song would it be? }
“I never really got to listen to music with lyrics. My parents thought that most of it was too uncivilized. Unless it was attached to some pretentious artist,” Dahlia mused. She didn’t want to dwell on the pang in her chest as she thought about how separated from the actual world she had been. “I was always fond of Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. I don’t know if that would exactly describe my life though...”
Acetaldehyde
Acetaldehyde: What did you used to have that you are happier without?
“My parents,” Dahlia answered immediately before scoffing bitterly. “I know that answer is rather... grim. But I really am happier without them controlling my life.” They never really loved her anyway, she knew that, and they proved it constantly when they were around. It was almost ironic that the one thing that caused the world such chaos was the one thing that truly freed her.
Ethylamine!
Ethylamine: What sound do you love?
“What sound do I love?” she mumbled repeating the question. She had never really thought about it before. “I suppose I love the sound of the wind rustling through the leaves, it was nice ambient noise while reading.” It was almost associated with the sound of freedom to her. Hiding away in the trees reading while her father shouted in the background. It was almost bittersweet thinking about it.
