Color Blocking Fashion Trend

We often hear this fashion trend nowadays... So what does color blocking mean? 

Color blocking - is combining loud and bright colors for more dynamic and confident look...

But if you're not ready to mix or combine colors Black and White offers a modern look all you need to do is to add BOLD colorful accessories! (Shoes, handbags, bracelets, and necklaces take part in this trend and are an amazing way to maximize your look! ) 

Here's a little tip to help you in color blocking...1. is to choose 3 colors for an ideal combination (use the color wheel below)

Most popular theory in color combination is the rule of two thirds.

How to achieve this?

Start by making and equilateral triangle (triangle with 3 equal sides) on the color wheel

from there PICK two of the three colors that the triangle touches...

these colors will almost harmonize together beautifully.

Here are few color blocking samples:

Cobalt blue, Yellow, Orange

Chocolate Brown, Pink, Peach

Purple, Bright Blue, Teal

Deep Blue, Bright Pink, White

Coral, Gray, Ivory

My Kikay Kit

What's in my Kikay kit? 

Every girl has her own kikay kit in her bag... though i am not a make up person... i also have a couple of favorite stuff in my kit.  I may be blessed with a flawless skin... (i thank my parents for that! )  ... but since i am in front of the computer for more that 8 hours a day... i've learned that i need to at least apply moisturizer or foundation with SPF to protect my skin... to counter wrinkles... 

It really depends on my mood... but i love both of them... 

Maybelline Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation in #14 Sand - water based formula, easy to apply and very handy; 

Precious Minerals BB Cream - Sheer Flawless from Etude house (SPF 30++)  - I love using this especially at night... it makes my skin glow... 

I am using Shu uemura before... i love the coverage... but i started developing rashes after a few minutes of applying it, so i discontinued using the product.  And i switched to L'oreal True Match minerals SPF 19 in Golden Beige ( i think this was already discontinued... or the packaging was changed...to a compact) and now i am using Clinique's superbalanced powder SPF 15 in Deep 63 - a minerals powder that balances combination skin. 

No blush - on for me... except for special occasions..  I have a Bronzer at home from Shu Uemura... (luckily, i don't get allergic reactions from this...)

The only lipstick that i use... Clinique's lipstick in Creamy Nude... lipsticks make my lips chap... this is the only product that doesn't chap m

y lips... so i love this!  

I don't usually put on lipstick everyday... i found this product in  my recent trip in Sydney - Lucas Papaw Ointment... it moisturizes my lips... great product! Its made from Papaya... lots of uses also - (A local topical application for boils, burns, chaffings, cuts, cracked skin, gravel rash, splinters, open wounds, insect bites & nappy rash. The ointment relieves and cleanses.)

Finally for my eyes... i use Glimmerstick from Avon in Black... its easy to apply,  Long extreme Mascarra from Maybelline and L'oreal Frosty snow eye shadow
