Fennec Foxes are highly social creatures with a rigid social hierarchy. When a pack of Fennec Foxes rest, they form what is often called a “Fennec Stack” with the alpha fox on the highest part of stack and the fox with the lowest social standing at the bottom of the stack. Female Fennec Foxes are not part of this social hierarchy and can rest however they please.
