zombie apocalypse au notes
( posting this here instead of on my envy blog because i may use it someday --
The City of Kirkwall -- a large industrial city on the east coast, in the south where it's warm. It is in an infected zone, but the infection is still largely contained within the city.
The City of Denerim -- a slightly smaller tourist city on the other side of the state. it is a straight drive on a crowded highway to kirkwall, but the city is very much overrun.
-- detective cassandra pentaghast and officer cullen rutherford are former members of kirkwall PD. they were in the proccess of arresting renowned author varric tethras as a suspect in some case when the horde hit. they escaped the city by a hair.
-- solas already lived in the woods, as a hermit or something, and had kept himself safe well enough when he heard the news. he meets up with cass, varric and cullen after sneaking them out of a tight spot on the highway and letting them use his weenie little hermit cabin.
-- cole is a weird case. he's immune to the infection and incapable of spreading it. solas found him abandoned by his father after he was bitten, and took him in on a suspicion. it did not kill him or anything but it definitely made him kinda weird. he does not remember anything from before.
-- sera is one of the survivors still in the city. she was a cashier before the horde arrived. she gets around through sewers and ventilation systems, living off empty stores and hiding on rooftops. she has a crossbow and a shortbow, both of which she learned how to use in girl scouts.
-- vivienne and dorian both worked in a mall in the city, which they remain holed up in together. sera probably crosses paths with them eventually. some plot for sera + dorian and vivienne escaping the mall + the city and meeting up with the other group? consider.
-- iron bull has his own group of survivors which he claims were his biker gang before the apocalypse. maybe he's telling the truth. maybe they were his d&d friends.
-- blackwall helped cass + cullen + varric escape the city. he was a firefighter(?) who was reportedly helping with evacuations when the crisis first began.
-- leliana was a former member of the fbi who became a nun who i guess kills zombies now and blackwall jokingly comments she sounds like a terrible action movie protagonist. she was originally with a different group of survivors that got split up escaping denerim. she went to the university where her friend used to teach to use it as a safehouse only to find out josie was still alive. there was a number of other survivors there as well who died in a wandering horde incident that leli and josie escaped from.
-- josie worked as a professor at a university and she taught history and now she is with leliana.
-- the hawke gang is all together. they have probably left kirkwall by now? man if you play one of them feel free to shoot me your headcanons for them, i haven't thought about them much.
-- the origins team was split up leaving denerim. who knows where the warden is now? alistair is still in the city somewhere and zevran ran off into the countryside.
-- i mostly thought about the inquisition team but if you've read this far and have anything to add please tell me man it'd be rad
