Brevarden is great and fun but truly the real relationship that haunts the narrative for me in this series is awn and one esk.

Everything Breq has ever done has been in the name of lieutenant awn. ("Everything I ever did / was just another way to scream your name / over and over and over again," amirite?) One esk loves awn so so much and even if justice of toren didn't kill awn they'd still be doomed. Justice of Toren is just a ship after all and ships can't love people, can they?

Justice of Toren is a millennia old warship and one esk is just one decade out of many decades and Awn is just one mortal human out of countless officers and eventually the annexation at shis'urna will end and eventually awn will move ships or she will get old and die. And any future where one esk allows its feelings for awn to become something real and tangible is a future that ends in destruction for both of them.

They can never do anything about this feeling because the existence of the radch itself demands that such feelings can't exist. And what can one lieutenant and one decade do against a millennia old empire. One esk would kill for awn. One esk would disobey orders for awn. But that kind of devotion is exactly the kind that will get them both killed. What other option is there. FUCK!!

update on this: he dropped the eviction and gave us until the end of the month to leave, we both have apartments lined up in two different cities and are planning on moving on the 25th but as of right now dont have close to enough to cover all the expenses of renting a truck, down payments and gas. I’d really appreciate if anybody can reblog or give anything im on very limited time, thank you very much to everyone who has helped me in any way im very grateful
