     Ah, so that’s what this was about. “The answer to that is both simple and complex.” She paused a moment. “There were many logical reasons to do such a thing, but I allowed sentimentality to cloud my judgment. You were merely helping your Master, as was I.” Another pause, but it was clear she wasn’t finished. “We have our differences, but when you strip us down to the bare details, one thing is the same. We’re both Sword Spirits, and the only ones. Even if we are rarely around each other, I know I would have gotten lonely being the only one.”

The demon stayed silent through her pauses knowing how wordy she could get. He blinked when he got the full answer. “I see. In short, you kept me alive for your own benefit.” He chuckled grimly and shook his head. “How surprisingly selfish of you, pretty sword.” The pet name, kind as it seemed, was said sarcastically. “I didn’t think you capable of such a thing. You don’t want to be lonely in the world and yet I’m sure you’ve never felt the actual pain of it.”

     The feminine spirit tilted her head slightly, watching the other curiously. “You were too quiet, I did not hear your inquiry.” Though they weren’t exactly enemies anymore, she hovered back a few feet away from the other. She knew all too well how he could get sometimes.

His gaze shifted over to the Master Sword. He hadn’t actually meant himself to be heard at all but curiosity was getting the best of him. “During the fight with our masters, you held back. You could have finished me off with Demise. Why didn’t you?” This time Ghirahim made sure he could be heard.
