She said what she said, and meant what she meant. But she didn't say what she meant, nor meant what she said.
A: B, you've been marked by death. There's nothing we can do to stop it. You're going to die.
B: No.
A: I'm sorry?
B: No
A: You...
A: YOU CAN'T JUST SAY NO TO DEATH DUMBASS
B: WATCH ME BITCH
A: Well things could always be worse.
B: We are locked in a dungeon, with no way out, with just our execution to look forward to. Plus no one is coming to rescue us due to your genius idea that we shouldn't tell anyone. How could this be worse?
A: You could be stuck here with C instead of me.
B:...
B: True.
A: What's so great about you?
B: I'm a literal God. You are a puny mortal. I could crush you with my pinkie finger. I could go on.
A: Just sounds like you're an arrogant asshole to me. Why don't you come here and I'll show you what a puny mortal can do.
B: *internally* They are so adorable. I must protect.
B: *externally* I have neither the time nor the desire.
A: Tell me a lie.
B: It's the end of the world. Wouldn't you prefer a truth for once?
A: Tell me a lie and I'll tell you a secret.
B: You're ridiculous.
A: No, that's true. I want a lie.
B: I never loved you.
A: That's a good one. I wish I could hate you.
B: You can't truly hate what you love, and can't truly hate what you love.
A: Wise words. It's nearly here.
B: It's been fun hero. Stay badass.
A: 'Till the next fight, villain.
A: Do you regret falling in love with her?
B: Absolutely. She hurt me more than any human being should be capable of and then some.
A: So why do you still mourn for the end of your relationship?
B: Because there is a large difference between "I regret it" and "I wish it had never happened".
A: If you die here I will never forgive you.
B: Well in that case let me magically sew this massive hole in my side up. Oh look at that! It's gone!
A: At least one comfort is even certain death can't stop you being an asshole.
B: I thought you just told me not to die.
C: You know B will kill you when she realises you stole her leather jacket. She almost ripped a dudes arm off yesterday for bumping into her and getting dust on it.
A: You're all so dramatic. B's a sweetheart; wouldn't hurt a fly.
C: Riiigght...
B: Which one of you motherfuckers do I have to kill for stealing my leather.... A?
A: I'm sorry. I just wanted to try it on. I can give it back
C: *muttered* Told you so.
B: That is not the issue here! The issue is how you make a leather jacket with spikes look cute!
C: WHAT!?!?
Hey. I love your writing. I was wondering if you could do something about a girl who is terrified of her power but has to use it to save her family. Thank you.
//Thank you so much!!! My first ask, I'm so happy!!! Ahhh!!!//
Why did it always come down to this? She had been so careful, not let anyone but her family see what she was truly capable of. Yet here she was. Stuck on a battlefield with her family's lives in the balance and all eyes on her. The offer was a tempting one, choose one to die and everyone else lived - plus she got to keep her secret! It should have been an easy choice, end the war right there and then. But she couldn't lose her family. So she did what she always knew it would come down to. She released her power.
She tryed to be carful but it burnt through her enemies, leaving nothing but hollow corpses with black eyes behind. The shadows curled around her as the blackness started to fill her eyes and her veins, burning her inside out. Her family called to her but all she could hear was the bodies falling of all the people who had dared hurt her family. And it felt good.
A sharp pain in her neck suddenly brought her back to the present, and she looked up at the enemy. The drugs worked quickly through her system and she only had one thought as her eyes slipped closed. She had been so careful, and it wasn't enough.
There is something everyone seems to forget in this world of angels and demons. Where almost every creature that walks this earth has unstoppable power. Where humans are seen as small breakable ornaments to be kept safe, but not mourned over if broken. Every angel looks at humans as less than them because if they can't fight the demons, then what hope will a human have to even look upon one? Yet they forget. They forget that humans are not as breakable just because they don't have powers. They forget that human can put themselves back together again when broken. They forget just how dangerous humans are. They forget that demons were once humans too.
Books set you up for disappointment. All the stories of teenage heroes going on great adventures and having fun. How friendships last forever. But real life isn't like that at all. You go to school and learn how to pass exams then fail them anyway. And people will betray each other without a second thought just to get a bit more cash. So stop reading right now. This is the story of what happened when we tried to be superheroes. And let me tell you, it wasn't like they made it out to be. It was just like life. A horrible disappointment that causes more pain than joy and leaves you with scars that won't heal.
She begged for help, but never for herself. She fought for change, but didn't believe in it. She flung herself off cliffs, but not so that she would finally know peace. She's the hero history refuses to tell you about because no one ever truly understood why she did what she did. So they wrote her out of the story, just to ensure there remained a clear line between good and bad. Let me tell you the story of the morally grey lady with bright blue hair.
Amelia raised her hand, ready to unleash all her power to crush the pathetic man in front of her, but never managed to complete the action. Her sister had grabbed her hand with a strength that shouldn't be possible and held it still. She silenced Amelia with a look and gave a terrifying grin that no one had seen before. She claimed it would be stupid to do something so obvious with witnesses all around her and promised she would make the old man pay. And looking down at the broken man in front of me it's clear she did. The man confesses all of his crimes in between his pleas for death.
And yet no one can prove it was her that did it. But I'm sure that her grin will be replaying in everyone's nightmares for a long time.
KFire raced through the building, engulfing everything in its way. Our entire lives burned in front of me and there was nothing they could do to stop it. It was almost beautiful; the way the flames danced high in the black sky. The only thing ruining it was their screams from inside the house, begging for someone to rescue them as they choked on the smoke and felt their skin blistering from the heat.
I turned to the man and accepted the deal. After all, selling my family to a demon so that you live isn't the worst thing I ever did. They were just waiting for a chance to kill me anyway.
Please don't turn away from me. I love you. Is it because of my scars? I got them so that no one would suspect. So that we could be together.
The reflection stared back at them, even as their back was turned. They could feel the glass eyes boring into their back, yet they could never prove it. Their friends all thought they were going mad, one had even offered to pay for the therapy and drugs. But it had to be real, they didn't have enough of an imagination to think this up. Their reflection lived, and wanted to kill them.
"I used to think I wanted to be you. But then I realised I was awesome." The young woman held a smirk on her face that looked even deadlier than the sharp knife dangling from her fingers. The hero stared at her, wondering how they got into this position.
"You still have a chance. Give up your boss and you can become like us." The hero begs, never reaching for their weapons. They believed that this would work, after all it always had before.
"Aren't you listening? I don't want to be like you." And with that she threw the knife at the hero. As they crumpled to the floor she approached and uttered the last words the hero would ever hear. "Who would want to turn into someone worse than themselves. I'm awesome."
People tell me it will get better with time. They tell me the pain will dull with each passing day. And that may be true for them but not for me. Because I don't die, I have to watch the people I love taken from me whilst I stay here. The pain for the first death I saw may have passed but I can't tell. Because an even greater pain fills me now as I stare at a broken and bloodied body. My great great granddaughter was too young to have gone this way, barely in her twenties. Yet there her body lies in front of me. And I'm sick of it! Sick of the pain that I go through almost everyday. So I'm going to stop. Stop caring. Stop loving. Stop feeling. Because all it leads to is pain.
