Everything had to be perfect. If nobody would help him Terrence would do it. Heâd gotten good at being dishonest. It just helped his game. Oh yes, getting John out of prison was a game to him. It was his fault. That the dishonesty he spread like carbon dioxide truly began.
nahbreckner :
Jonah kept his head down - focusing on picking up his feet and putting one in front of another, his hands deep in his pocket, his hair falling down in front of his eyes. The words he said hit too close too home - it made his heart pang and his throat dry. âIt just seems like everyone I love disappears,â He whispered, licking his lips before taking a deep breath. âI canât keep doing this. I canât keepâŚlosing. I just want to know what it feels like to be happy again andâŚit always gets taken awayâŚhow do IâŚnot blame myself?â
Shaking his head slightly he looks at Jonah. âI just know what happens if you continue.â There were multiple students that reminded him of himself when he was younger. Taemin because of their habits, Cay for their anger at the world... and it would appear that Jonah was falling into the category rather swiftly. âYou have to change your outlook on life.â He states simply. âConvince yourself everything will be alright. And youâll start to think it as time passes.â It was something he always thought was stupid when heâd been told to do it.
nahbreckner :
Jonah heard the words âgo aheadâ and nearly got up to run back in. Terrence was a somewhat authority figure and he just desperately wanted to help find her or at least cling onto the camera that had some of her final moments. His laughs were off-puttingâŚwho could laugh in a situation like this? âI justâŚâ Words werenât forming correctly - he didnât know what he wanted to do or say. âThis is so fucking horrible. Who could do something like this to anyone, nevertheless Maisie?â Literal sunshine encapsulated in a human being. He felt it was something to do with him. Heâd touched her and tainted her. Everything and everyone he loved had to die or disappear. âI justâŚwant this all to be over.â His body was shaking and he feared he was going to throw up. ââŚcan you help me to the dorms?â
âThere are people that do fucked up things every day.â Shaking his head he sighs. âYour past can fuck you up pretty bad, and maybe thatâs what happened here.â Motioning for him to follow he starts walking. âThatâs what Iâm here for. Making sure you get to your dorm safely.â Pushing his hands into his pockets as he walks he sighs. âYou blame yourself. Thatâs why you want the camera right? Because you think this is all your fault.â Side glancing at him he shakes his head again. âThinking like that... isnât helpful. Youâll start wondering why everything you care about falls apart. Youâll think that thereâs nothing good left in you. Youâll want to be another person entirely. And eventually, youâll isolate yourself from everyone and everything in order to keep them safe.â Believe me... I know. He wants to add but the words donât come out.

laurent-vasiliyev :
Startled, Laurent raised his gaze off the floor and up to meet the face of the person whoâd cornered him. He mustâve looked insanely guilty slinking away through the crowd like that, hands fisted in the depths of of the pockets of his jacket. He hadnât bothered getting dressed up nicely, his excursion to the ball hadnât been a date; itâs been a mission.Â
With fate and fortune on his side Laurent didnât have to come up with a reason of why exactly he looked like heâd just seen a ghost. Students and staff alike rushed around him in one big frenzied panic. The sound of approaching sirens flared in the distance, a loud noise above the mixture of screams and sobs.Â
âWhat the fuck do you expect?â He shot out, squaring up his shoulders to hide a body flinch after someone bumped into him on their way to the dorms. âSome kid just died, and another one went missing. Are you disappointed weâre not all celebrating?â
Nodding his head Terri lets out a sigh. âStupid word choice.â Watching people move past he glances back to Laurent. âYou look sick, you shouldnât be moving through a crowded area.â Motioning for Laurent to follow him he shakes his head. âI expected the security to make sure the people who looked sick to go ahead of everyone else so they could lay down.â With another sigh, he shakes his head. âYou should have been celebrating. But then this all happened.â
He wasnât sure if he was frustrated because the school couldnât get enough security to ensure the safety of an event. Or the fact that he hadnât realized that something would happen yet again. Pushing his hands into his pockets he shakes his head.
"Look I can bring you the staff lounge? Let you calm down a bit before sending you to your dorm.." He comments looking at Laurent. âOr you know you could just go through the crowd to your dorm.â
septic-muse :
What the fuck kind of question is,
âAm I
happy?â
nahbreckner :
âI donât care about being safe if sheâs not safe,â Jonah said, crossing his arms. âIâm not leaving. IâŚI had a camera. I dropped it in the gym and I need to find it. I need to see if thereâs anything thereâŚwhat ifâŚwhat if I captured something?â He pleaded, tears filling his eyes. There was a slim chance the camera survived the drop and the trampling of students and an even slimmer chance that any clues were captured, but he was desperate. âI need to find herâŚI need herâŚâ
âGo ahead,â Terrence states scoffing. Shrugging lazily he lets out a laugh. âBut if you try Iâll call the authorities and inform them I saw a suspicious person approaching the scene of the crime.â With the shake of his head, he laughs more. âGoing back is useless. You could wind up dead or missing, and how will you help her then? What you need to do is go back to your dorm. Your camera is evidence, going back is not only reckless but itâs tampering with evidence.â Shrugging he looks at the boy. âThe choice is yours.â
Well... Shit.
emeryxnewman :
It was as if everything had begun to fall apart, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. Halloween had been one thingâthey were drugged and tied up. This time she had been there, watching it happen, and not doing anything to stop it. But how could she? Sheâd been in her office, keeping a close eye on the monitors, when the security cameras in the gym began to shut off one by one. That was all it had taken for her to book it towards the gym, making various calls on private channels to various other guards. Sheâd just barely made it in time for the power to go out. And then when the lights flickered back on and the body dropped⌠her heart sank.
A huge part of being the head of security meant concealing emotion. Orders were immediately sent out on the headset as she rushed to the stage. It was all sort of a blur after that. The police were called, arrangements were made. Sheâd been on the phone with the Headmistress, negotiating for counselors to be made available as soon as possible. Shock blankets and hot chocolate were to be distributed immediately to the students. Everyone needed to remain accounted for, and she was responsible for making sure they were. Cautionary tape was set around the stage, and sheâd had to pull Eddie away from his brotherâŚwhich had just about broken her heart. But it needed to be done.
Once the students had cleared out from the gym, sheâd spent a solid two hours conversing with the police and paramedics. A call had to be made to Gunnerâs parents, and there was no doubt in her mind that she would be held accountable for his death. The press had already gone wild with Halloween, and there was no doubt in her mind that they would have even more fun tearing her apart after this disaster. Sheâd thought sheâd gone through hell with her addiction, but this was an entirely new type of Hell, and sheâd dove in head first only to be eaten up by the flames. Thankfully the police on site also managed to remain level headed, and the fact that no blame was being placed on her was a blessing. After all, she was placing enough blame on herself as it was.
And then there was Maisie. She knew Jonah, Harlow, and everyone else attached to the girl would be out of their minds with worry. They had every right to be. But with everything going on with the dead body, the blonde girl had been put to the back of her mind until sheâd taken a much needed step away from the body. Scoping out the stage and the backstage area, everything was spotless. Frighteningly spotless. Which meant that whoever had taken Maisie had done a good job at cleaning up after themselves. And that caused her heart to ache even more. She didnât know Gunner too well, but she knew the Anderson sisters. She knew that they didnât deserve this, not after all the hard work they had done.
Sleep wasnât even an option at this point. Breaking away from the gym, she quickly made her way to the building of her office, stopping only in the staff kitchen to make a quick pot of coffee for herself before grabbing her thermos and walking down the hall towards her office. The sound of Terrenceâs voice caused her to pause in her tracks, a sigh of irritation stuck in her throat as she slowly turned around to face him. There was no doubt a look of pure, unguarded exhaustion on her face, but she was quick to pull herself together as he advanced. âAlright, come with me,â she paused before continuing, âwe can take a look at the footage together. I need to make a list of names to get in contact with, but you can work on the tapes. Whoever took Gunner had to have been hiding him on campus at some point. If we can find any trace, any at all, of where he might have been kept, thatâs a start.â There had to be fingerprints left somewhere.
âWell. Weâre getting things done. So letâs hope you donât need sleep.â Terri states folding his arms.  âYouâre probably going to need more security walking around the school. Just in case someone is going out for a little cleanup. Maisie still needs to be located, and Iâm assuming that whatever triggered the blackout was completely planned.â Clasping his hands together he continues speaking. âMaybe last time something didnât go as planned because I donât see that blog keeping it quiet.â Looking to the floor as he walks he sighs. âConsidering the last time those gifts had been sent out, they were nervous. So this... they wanted everything to go according to plan.âÂ
Tapping his finger on his chin the male sighs again. Shaking his head he crosses his arms once more. âTo cause the outage, would someone have needed a key to get to the place? Wherever they caused it from? Or is it somewhere anyone can access?â Glancing at Emery he furrows his brows. âBecause I doubt whoever they got to do their biding wore gloves.â Looking ahead of them he shrugs his shoulders lazily. âMight be worth taking a detour to find.â Terri suggests pushing his hands into his pockets.
Sure he was still upset about everything that happened. But if he remembered anything from when he was growing up,, it was to keep your cards hidden. If you set the deck out for everyone to see, it would only make it easier to use your emotions against you.
Well... Shit.
To say Terrence was anything but egotistical would be a joke. Itâs no wonder whoever is hiding behind the gossip blog has a strong dislike for the man. After all, he tore down peopleâs disguises crept under their masks to learn their secrets. Learned how to use the secrets for his own personal gain. And if he had to do it again to save something he truly cared for? Heâd do it again in a heartbeat. Heâd long since accepted that the place for him was not going to be where everyone else would go. Heâd be a speck of dirt in his next life if you believe in reincarnation. His soul had been damned the day his father had been dragged from their house all those years ago on Christmas day. What sealed his soul to this fact, however, had been when his mother took her things and left in the middle of the night leaving him with a failure.
But with his ego comes a surprising amount of patience. Patience that gets chipped away slowly. Worn down as the time passes, and eventually, the cracks begin to form. Spreading around like webs into the shattering patience. In those moments Terrence is known to lose his cool. Whether it be a quick burst of anger directed at someone for something annoying theyâd continue to do. Or someoneâs own inadequacy. If there was one thing Terrence hated more than anything. It was failure. Perhaps that was why as the days turned to months and barely anything had surfaced about the investigation into the missing students he began to feel agitated. Why on Halloween heâd been quick to anger, and why heâd been provoking the person behind the mask. Whose distaste for him was just.
When this anger was directed at someone, however, there was little to nothing, save Terrence himself, that could stop the anger. The only time he remembers having been this angry was when heâd painstakingly wasted seven years of his life on someone who left immediately. No thank you, no time spent together, not even a question if he wanted to go with. The anger was directed at the person he had to grow up without, the person he gave everything up to get back all those years ago. So, after heâd brought his group to their respective locations he set out to find the person his anger had been directed at currently.
With brisk steps and his brows furrowed, he projects his voice down the hall at the woman. âEmery. We need to talk about what the hell just happened. Because quite frankly thisâŚâ Eyes landing on her face his words stop immediately. His pace gradually slowing down he sighs, eyes downcast. Continuing with his normal tone after taking a moment to compose himself he looks back up. âThis is going to be hell to go through alone. And um⌠Iâd uh⌠like to help. With the uh⌠investigation...?â His voice comes out unsure as his hostile expression settles into perplexity. It was obvious sheâd been having a rough night.
@emeryxnewman
Terrence could still remember the days heâd hole himself in his room. He remembered when heâd stand that everything would go white, and a pain would shoot throughout his side. Painfully reminding him of the neglect heâd put on himself. Sadly, some things never change.

laurent-vasiliyev :
The lights go back on the second Laurent reaches the bathroom, stumbling into the nearest cubicle to lock himself in. The distant sound of screaming students mixes in with the wretched noise of him throwing up, red hands smearing thick, foreign blood everywhere he goes.
Vivid pictures heâd rather forget flash in front of his eyes; The body bag, the rope, the piece of paper with instructions scribbled across it. Heâd been standing at the very back of the stage beside the fire exit, trembling hands ready to untie the knot, and subsequently release hell. But he hadnât been thinking straight, how could he have been? Eâs threats, real and alive and dangerously close to destroying his life should he refuse to comply, were more than even he could stomach. Not even the Devil would forgive him for the sins heâd committed to save himself.
Leaving the cubicle he goes over to one of the sinks, feverishly starting to scrub the blood off his hands. The water runs read against the white porcelain basin, washing away all evidence of his crimes. The musicâs gone out and he can still hear people screaming, countless footsteps moving in all directions as the crowd disperses in a panicked frenzy.Â
He leaves the bathroom after washing away most of the traces, inconspicuously trying to slide back into the hall to join the rush of people trying to get back to their dorms.Â
The only reason Terri found himself moving from one building to the other was to try to figure out what happened. Heâd made his way into the gym as the lights turned back on. Though he would never admit that heâd rushed from one building to the other. So when he heard the comment about directing the students back to their dorms heâd started immediately.
Briefly catching a glimpse of what had been on the stage he wondered just who had gotten themselves tangled in Eâs game yet again. It confused him... the last time heâd heard gifts had been sent out. But everything was radio silent this time. As if the person had been too involved in everything going according to plan. With a sigh, he motions for the crowd to keep moving. Eyes flicking to each face for a moment. Raising his voice above the crowd he narrows his brows. âAlright! Thatâs enough. Shut up youâre only panicking yourselves more.â Scanning the crowd he rests a hand on his hip pinching the bridge of his nose with the other.
Dropping the hand he continues moving along with the students. The dance shouldnât have happened. Not after the events that took place during Halloween. It was too risky. And now one of the girls was missing. This entire situation was going to be a pr nightmare for the preparatory academy.
Eye falling on someoneâs face he lifts a brow briskly closing the distance between them. âHey kid.. you donât look so good.â
As much as Terrence wanted to try to calm everyone down and maintain his image he knew that was likely impossible in the current situation. With a dejected sigh, he tried to keep his voice as monotonous as possible but couldnât stop the soft tones that had managed to slip out as he spoke. âAlright, come on. Double time. Letâs get moving.â Walking backward and motioning for the group of students to follow he continues speaking. âThis is a nightmare... itâs terrible I know. But you have to get back to your dorms. Itâs safe there.â That was a lie... and he knew it. Nowhere in this school was safe. That he was certain of. âLook tomorrow after the questioning if you guys need someone to talk to. Come by the IT room or whatever... itâs better than talking to a counselor thatâll try convincing you this happened for a reason.â He briefly wonders how many times in his life he had heard the words âAnd how did that make you feel Terrence?â Shaking his head he lets out a sigh. âIâm not going to tell you itâs going to be okay. Because... Iâm not sure it will be. And thatâs something you donât just lightly promise after what just happened.â

jameshanlon :
James knew better than to do what he was doing, but he couldnât help himself. Trying to find out who E was had become almost a compulsion since Halloween. He considered himself lucky to have not been involved in the awful events of that night, though he wasnât sure why he had managed to escape the same torture his classmates had endured. DId that mean E was someone who knew him? Or did it mean there was something else, something equally terrible coming his way? Frustrated, he looked back at his computer screen, the FAKE ESCAPES homescreen shining brightly back at him. âWho are you,â he muttered under his breath, scanning the page again to see if there was anything that might identify E. Of course, he found nothing. Itâs not like he expected to. If it were as easy as looking at the website, E wouldâve been found out way earlier. Maybe what he needed to do was publically draw attention to himself â make it clear that he, if no one else, was planning to find out who they were and put them on blast for all the terrible things theyâd done to innocent people. Maybe he could trick E into interacting with him⌠get whoever it was to reveal more of themselves. âIâll make sure everyone knows who you are, you sick bastard,â he muttered under his breath, scrolling absently without noticing that someone had come up behind him until it was too late. âWait, sorry, I wasnât⌠I mean, not you.â
âIâm quivering in my boots and Iâm sure E is too,â Terri comments looking down at the boy. Letting a sigh out he shakes his head. âDo... do you even know the first thing about.. any of this?â Arching a brow he rests a hand on his hip, using the other to motion at the screen. âWhat happened was just a small taste test. A little peek into the chaos they have planned. Thatâs how people like this operate, it was to show what theyâre capable of.â Bringing a hand to pinch at his brows Terri pinches at the bridge of his nose. He knew that leaving the IT room more than heâd used to would start to get suspicious after a while, he needed to shut himself back up in the room. Stop wandering around the halls looking for any piece of the puzzle he might be able to find. âHow exactly do you plan to make sure everyone knows who they are? Because Iâm sure theyâre on the edge of their seat right now. Iâm sure theyâre interest is piqued now.â Letting a laugh out he shakes his head again. âCome on be serious now, what do you expect to accomplish against them? Iâm pretty sure if you donât have anything planned they know that already. But hey, who knows. Maybe youâre a dark horse. Maybe E should be scared. Maybe after this conversation, E will send one of us a message or make a post on the blog. Though, I highly doubt either possibility. I mean... Youâd have to have something major planned to piss off E and catch their attention.â
The Devilâs Tune
harlowxanderson :
âExactly..â Harlow bit her lip. E wasnât kidding when they said they knew everything about everyone. They knew how to attack people in just the right way. Listening to him speak, Harlow couldnât help but frown in thought as she wracked her brains for the answers to the questions he spoke aloud. âThey would be super paranoid.. I mean.. I went crazy worrying about Maisie. I was on my way back to the dorm to check up on her and make sure she was still okay when someone hit me from behind. Next thing I know I woke up strapped to the front seat of a car that was surrounded by fire..â she said, her voice lowering again. Her eyes were slightly glazed over as she had spoken, but as she realised she had talked out loud in what clearly wasnât a private place she blinked and glanced around again before looking up at Terri. âSorry- I uh. I actually have a free period right now. Could we talk now? But maybe not so.. in the open?âÂ
âSo they did trick everyone into walking right into their trap....â Letting a small sigh escape. Terri stares at the people moving behind her. âThatâs rather...intense.â He comments before glancing back to her. With a small nod and a gentle smile, Terri begins talking. âWe could definitely talk now. In fact, Iâd recommend not leaving this conversation on the shelf after starting it so... openly.â Resting his hands on his hips he looks down the hall. Was there anyone he could see staring directly? Glancing down the other side of the hall he looks back to Harlow. âClever girl.â Chuckling he nods again commenting. âAnywhere in mind, or would you prefer I direct us to a private location to speak?â He inquires removing his hands from his hips and clasping them together. Looking down into her eyes he offers a quick smile. It felt almost natural to do at this point. âEither way as long as itâs somewhere without prying ears. Iâm sure they donât mean to eavesdrop. Itâs just...interesting to them.â
tae-min-hyeung :
âYou mean, like bullied? There have been countless victims of Poppy. And Gunner was a player. As for Eve⌠she seemed pretty surface level. Just went along with everything.â Taemin said, âI know know the extent of any of their bullying. Poppy is the most I know, she had me dig up info on people⌠so, she was intense, and get why she was taken. As for which victim is guilty⌠well, there are a lot of suspects.â Taemin rested his chin on his knee as he spoke. He let out a soft chuckle, âMr. Clarke is supposed to be intense, but if he and Gunner werenât close, and always at odds, perhaps he is guilty of something. Emery is head of security, and Mr. Clarke is a part time guard. Maybe she would protect him?â He suggested. It wasnât impossible, the issue was that Taemin didnât know much about either of them to make too deep of assumptions. He couldnât have too many possibilities. He already didnât know enough. âLike⌠a calling call?â Taemin felt himself grin, wide and excited, âI love it. We should do it in front of the student body, though. Cause a ruckus. E isnât the only one who can cause chaos.
âOf the sorts yes.â Fingers dancing across the keys he shrugs a shoulder. âMaybe they had gotten bullied, rejected by one of them, maybe their heart was shattered by a trick performed by them. Maybe they were jealous.â Rubbing at the bridge of his nose he sighs. âEvery theory at this point is plausible until more information is discovered. Everything is so...scattered. What we need to do is connect the lines.â Turning his chair to face the boy once more when he mentions helping the blonde Terri looks at him. âI see...â Nodding slowly he leans back in the chair. âFrom what I understand the two are.. close. Which is understandable since they both work in security. Maybe itâs time for me to go bother Ms. Newman sometime soon.â Snapping a finger he points at the younger boy. âExactly, like a calling card. Good comparison.â Drumming his fingers on the arm of his chair he looks at the ceiling. âI agree. It should be done so that everyone can see it. So that E will definitely see it, and not just hear about it. Something impactful.â Cracking his knuckles Terri lets out a sigh. âThis needs thorough planning. Nobody else can know. Not even if you really trust them. The most they get to know is that you came here. It keeps them safe from this. Oh, and if you tell anyone I said that I will make your life a living hell.â
