About

Branwen is a Raven Shapeshifter and Former Companion of the Mórrígan, Irish Goddesses of War and Fate. She was not born a human but rather a Raven and given a human form by the Mórrígan (like the raven from Maleficent) After serving her goddess for centuries, she grew tired of the violence and bloodshed. Branwen lost favor with the Mórrígan when she asked to be released and allowed to live a simple life.

Damon held out the opened bottle at that point, offering her a drink that he wasn't sure she could tolerate. "And what wisdom were you looking for? Surely not just a drink".

Branwen took the glass from him and brought it to her lips, taking a small sip and finding she didn’t mind the taste. “Wisdom?” She asked and shook her head with a small smile. “Perhaps I was simply looking for company.”

Branwen hadn’t expected him to reach over and she tensed briefly before relaxing. “I have tried reaching out to her before. I’ve never received a reply. Gods can unfortunately hold grudges for a long long time.”

He looked at her as if to assess for deception, but found none. "A raven. Weren't you free to fly anywhere? Go where your heart desired? Why become human?". Being human was messy with contradictions in itself.

Branwen was quiet for a moment, thinking over his question and how to answer it. It wasn’t like she was completely bound to the Morrigan, she didn’t depend on her for her powers. “I suppose I just didn’t want to be alone. I was the Morrigan’s companion, her friend. I loved her.”

"Were there others like you? Others that didn't choose to be like you?" His questions came from curiosity than anything else.

Branwen nodded her head. “Yes. There were a couple. But I was her favorite.” She said with a sigh and blinked her eyes to force back tears.

“Oh thank you.” Branwen said with a slight smile as she took the long black feather from him. She had just begun her yearly molt in her raven form and one of her feathers must have stuck to her clothes when she had shifted.

Open rp Hydra AU! (Very simply put Hydra convinced Bucky that Steve left him for dead and he ends up joining them ‘willingly’, this still takes years of brainwashing. Other than that it’s pretty similar to canon)

Bucky had finally been given some free time since waking up. He did his missions. He did them well, like he always did. So now he’s causing a bit of trouble around New York. He’s bored, what can he say?

And maybe he’s trying to draw a certain someone out. A certain someone who he believed had been living in hiding for decades until he suddenly appeared fighting against the alien attack. Or maybe he’ll catch a Hydra traitor. Who knows.

Bucky’s currently perched on the edge of a building, looking out over the skyline. He adjusts his mask as he hears someone approaching him. “You have to be quieter than that to get the jump on me…”

The raven landed a few feet away from him, just out of his peripheral vision. At his words, the bird rolled her eyes. If that was even something a raven was capable of doing. She knew that he had heard her. Not much could slip past him.

Letting out a caw, the raven moved closer. Her talons made a slight click clack sound with each small hop. Before she settled next to him though, there was a flutter of feathers as she shifted forms. Her wings became arms, her beak a nose, and her black feathers became long dark hair that settled on her shoulders.

“I wasn’t trying to be quiet. Neither was I trying to sneak up on you.” Branwen replied as she sat next to him, her legs dangling over the edge of the building. “I’ve learned I’m not capable of doing that awhile ago.”

"Nice to meet you Branwen, I'm Damon". He gave a slight nod as he looked away and listened. "What led you to serving her?". Perhaps it was a sensitive question, but it also answered who her character was. Was it out of revenge? A need to belong? For someone she knew?

“Nice to meet you too Damon.” Branwen smiled and nodded her head in return. She took a moment to think of the best way to explain her relationship with the Morrigan. It wasn’t complicated but at the same time it was. She had a feeling he wouldn’t think she was crazy though. “Would you believe me if I said that I hatched from an egg?” She said with a grin, figuring the best way to begin was with a little humor.
