It’s defined me, dear. Before I had my powers I was merely a thug with aspirations. Now I can recruit an army with but a word and be praised as king. Those who stand in my way kneel at my demand. What’s not to like?
what do you have against president osborn?
What do I have against President Osborn? I do enjoy being on his side and the power that position gives me, but I do suppose I have my qualms. I would say the issue I have with him is that he wants absolute control which very much interferes with my endgame.

“Try it again, you’ll find that it tastes better.” He replied with a momentary flash of green in his eyes that Steve should forget any second now. Should his hypnosis have worked it should taste like a slightly above average cup of coffee.

“Long gone.” Mesmero responded, leg crossed over leg as he sipped his tea. “It would be a shame if someone were to tell him who exactly misappropriated his items... Wouldn’t it?”
“I have terrible taste in men. That’s well known. I’m not sure why it’s still making the news. Yes, I married Ronan. There’s more pressing topics.”
“Oh I’d like to dwell on that a bit longer.”
“Pretty sure we’ve done this song and dance before, but sure. Let’s do it again. The last thing I want is to sponsor someone but do we have any choice if the alternative is that they sit in jail?”
“Always have a choice. It’s just not often that we get good ones.”
“So we’re just publicly outing people in the news, locking others up and writing articles with quotes that are lies? How is this okay? And no – I don’t want to comment on Peter. I’ll stand by him no matter what Jameson or my dad says.”
“We’ve been doing this since the neanderthals, dear. Not that it makes things better, but this is the world.”
“We did what was best for our kids. That’s all there is to it. Sponsoring them will protect them.”

At this point, Groot was happy enough that he all he was doing was smiling– he didn’t say another word.
rocket scoffed, almost smiling himself. “he ain’t used to bein’ able to have conversations with people so– sorry he’s actin’ like a big dummy right now. you’re on his good list now.”
“Well I’m honored to be on his good list.” He said without a hint of sarcasm for once. It was so rare that he was able to make a connection with people as himself. His mutation made him strive to be anyone but him. It was a nice change of pace.

Getting fired for attacking a student, an open addiction to killing… Some lighter hair and a new body didn’t remove the smudges from her psyche. “I’d say that I hope you surprise me, but I’ve always hated them.”
“I’m full of surprises and I don’t aim to disappoint.” He replied with some annoyance from her tone in his voice.
