“If you are willing to look at another person’s behavior toward you as a reflection of the state of their relationship with themselves rather than a statement about your value as a person, then you will, over a period of time cease to react at all.”
— Yogi Bhajan
Manipulative people have mastered the art of making you believe you are the problem for reacting to what they did to you.
Now the main focus is no longer on what they did but on how emotional and responsive you are to what happened. They will use this as an excuse to not take accountability for their actions but to push you away and leave you to deal with the pain.
Relationships, friendships, family, anyone. Stay away from people who make you feel like you are a burden when you indeed, did nothing wrong.
