the idea of Mary clocking the mix tape for what it is (a romantic gift) and assuming that Dean and Cas are an item is soo delicious

she tells Cas and he gets all confused and flustered about it cause in his mind - it was just a friendly gift, so any romantic implications simply fly over his head (our poor oblivious angel) and now Dean has to face the music (they get together)

anyways, I'm thinking about writing a fic like that - would anybody be interested??

Sam, done with his brother's bullshit: That's not how friends act.

Dean: So what? You wanna tell me I'm a shitty friend? Is that what it is?

Sam, on the verge of pulling his hair out: No. All I'm saying is that friends don't usually come up to each other to hug from behind.

Dean: *shrugs in silence*

Sam: Friends don't end up asleep and cuddled up on the couch after movie nights.

Dean: *shrugs again* It's comfy, Sam!

Sam: And friends don't leave lingering touches! They don't caress each other's faces or- or-

Dean: It was a crisis! Cas was hurt-

Sam, completely exasperated: Friends understand the concept of personal space and don't look at each other's lips, Dean.

Dean stays silent, seemingly pensive.

Sam: Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

Dean, nodding with full confidence: You're right Sammy, we're more than just friends. We are the best of best friends!!!

Sam: *facepalms cause this idiot is hopeless* I need a break from you guys..

As much as I love trope of people being surprised Dean and Cas are married because they don't wear rings, realistically speaking I think we all should agree that once they've got those rings they don't take them off like Ever. And they're on the most visible place too. Actually I think they would shove their hands to everybody's faces bragging what an awesome husband they've got

this but when they think they could lose their rings (Cas gardening, Dean working on cars maybe) they opt to wear them as necklaces instead of taking them off like regular people do cause they could never fully take them off

Can we stop for a moment and imagine this:

Dean, Sam and Cas travel to L.A because they catch wind of some supernaturally-sus death. There, at the crime scene they are met with Chloe and Lucifer (yes, from Lucifer - idk how since the Lucifer in SPN is totally different but yeah)

And Lucifer uses his powers to get Dean reveal his deepest desire. To the shock of Cas - being oblivious as heck - and the annoyance of Sam - being fed up with the unresolved tension - Dean spills the beans about getting together with Cas in every way possible. About having dates and holding hands and retiring from hunting and living in a house together etc etc

Or, alternatively, he literally goes on a tangent about how he would strip Cas naked and let himself get fucked on the hood of Baby.

It would be even funnier if, after the fact, Dean is surprised at himself cause poor guy was stuck so deep in denial he haven't even realized that this would be his deepest desire.

Demon-Dean: Nothing, just realizing how old-me really sucked. I mean, you're obviously hot and if not for my human ass being emotionally constipated, I'd hit it years ago.

Cas: *looking wide-eyed* O-okay..

Demon-Dean: Actually *winks* wanna do it now, Angel? What'd ya say, huh? You digging a bit of forbidden love, don't you?

Cas: *left promptly speechless and flustered*

Sam, in the background: *making dying noises before fleeing the scene traumatized for life*

i can’t get over how romantic season 8 of supernatural is. what do you mean it starts with dean thinking he is hallucinating cas, when in actuality it’s cas, in brief moments of respite of being brainwashed, just. visiting dean. wanting to be near him. and dean knowing in his deepest guts that something is wrong, but praying to cas regardless. changed his entire memory because he couldn’t cope with cas willingly not coming with him. and somewhere in the middle a mind controlled cas beats the hell out of dean and he breaks fully free after dean tells cas he needs him (he loves him). and it ends with them meeting at a bar where a cupid shoots their love arrow at two butch, manly men.
