Strange Eden Information Doc link!

These past few days I've been writing an information doc for Strange Eden, compiling all the information we can get from official sources (with footnotes!) and I wanna share it with fans who might be confused on what's going on in the story or just wants to review details.

One detail about Senri that I found to be very funny is that it's canon that he keeps drawing fortune slips until he gets the best one.

And that makes me think about the fact that his earring is a good luck knot and the pin(?) in his breast pocket also seems to be in the form of a good luck knot.

So now I wonder, is Senri superstitious? I feel like that would be a fun headcanon. Picturing Senri as the type to clap twice when he feels uneasy or have an omamori on his bag while travelling. It feels surprisingly fitting to me!

I'm tried of seeing people in the tkdb fandom complain about how some stuff are "never explained".

Like, is the story done yet? No? It's on going, you say? Alright, so have you thought that maybe, MAYBE, the writers are setting things up and are going to explain it later???

It's like they don't even notice that this is a pattern in the writing too. The writers constantly add small mysteries and let some stew for longer while revealing the answer for some of them earlier. They're creating intrigue.

And if you want an example of this I will happily point you towards Haru's reaction to learning that a general student had gotten their hands on mermaid flesh. He said "A mermaid... You don't mean..." to which Hyde says "Nope, he's fine." IN EPISODE 7. And guess who's heavily implied to be a mermaid now? Shion Genkai. A thing that was foreshadowed in episode 7, first got HINTED (not even properly revealed, hinted) towards in episode 2 of season 2 (which is episode 26 in total). But sure, complain about how the writers "never gave an answer to this".

Ok so I finallt watched michitaka and rins episodes ( im so late but ive had homework and my job to do so ive been so freaking BUSY HELP ME- ) and i thought it was interesting that senri is michitaka’s younger brother which implies that senri was born after a human to human parents. i would think this implies that maybe instead of being born as an echo u instead become one somehow ? or maybe senri was just a weird fluke idk it seems possible

this also implies that echoes stop aging at one point because if senri was born after michitaka then it means they would both need to grow up and if senri was born an echo then he would need to grow up, but rin who is said to be an old echo looks to be physically around michitaka’s age and is just fading away instead of cracking down like a human

maybe you get turned into an echo at some point which elongates your life from that point on and then you slowly become less and less human ? im kinda just speculating now lol

I've thought for a long time that they turn into an Echo instead of being born one, since in the official introduction for Echoes it says that Echoes are "born and sustained by the consumption of an object’s "information "" so not necessarily born as Echoes, if that makes sense?

For Senri's case I definitely think he transformed into an Echo during the time he was apart from Kosei. (Maybe even the fact that Kosei has a constitution for attracting Legacies had something to do with the fact that they were able to reunite? 👀)

But when it comes to Echoes physical age, we don't really have much information to go off of! It's interesting, like you said, I wonder if Echoes stop aging (sort of like vampires) or there aging slows down? Maybe they even like, age normally if they turn as children but after hitting a certain age they either stop aging/the aging slows down. Because biologically speaking, there isn't really an advantage for creatures to stay as children, so I think it would be cool for a creature that ages children normally but as adult the aging slows down to keep the body as physically fit for as long as possible.

But if we got with the stop aging idea, maybe that's why Mayoru looks so young? Because he turned into an Echo as a kid?

I do wonder if the display of knowledge Senri had in episode 14 is foreshadowing to his Echo reveal. Kinda like how Feiran became suspicious of Yao because he just knew so much, I wonder if Kosei will question Senri on how he seems to know so much about all this and Senri will just look at him with a pained expression and try to change the topic because he knows Kosei is scared of Echoes and the realisation will just hit Kosei and then they can't go back to how it was before and-

I'm like vibrating at a frequency that is unknown to the human mind just THINKING about this.

Desperately need the reveal scene where Senri finally admits to being an Echo to Kosei. The angst will be delicious and I will cry AND I NEED IT SO BADLY...

I can imagine like a bajillion different ways it can go and now I wanna write fan fics for all the different scenarios.

Can't wait for my friends who knows nothing about Strange Eden to read my string of post and wonder wtf I am talking about.

They'll just watch me spout nonsense and Legacies and Echoes and wonder what I could possibly be referring to.

This COULD be me being delusional and insane, but I feel like for each passing Echo/human pair we get introduced to, the Echo is further removed from the human world. Because in the 4gamer interview with the Strange Eden team they talk about how Rin is the most removed from the human world but Senri is obviously the most integrated into the human world despite being an Echo. And Luka feels kinda well integrated, doesn't he? But I could definitely see people argue that Oujin is more removed than Yao, so I could be off the mark with this one.

(Side note: I don't think Mayoru should count into this because one, he's not a part of a Echo/human pair. But also Mayoru feels like he's a part off and frequently walks between the two worlds. He's said to mingle with humans often but he also works for an underground organisation that was created by and for Echoes, soooo... he also kinda acted as a diplomat in a way in the main story).

I really loved episode 14, mostly because I'm such a Shikyoku and Kosenri fan but also because I thought it was so interesting to observe them both.

It felt like Senri was more open about what he knows during episode 14, at least compared to the Shikyo episodes. Kosei asks Senri what they should do with the Legacy, Senri points out that the Legacy has a core, Senri seems to know that it's dangerous for Mayoru to give Michitaka Legacy fragments. And sure he could have gotten educated on this stuff off screen but this feels like an awful lot of knowledge and familiarity from a guy who supposedly first found out about all this when Mayoru showed up.

And Kosei was just so terrified throughout the whole episode. Maybe it's me misremembering, but I felt like Kosei was in general a lot calmer during his first mission (obviously not during the attacks and when he got separated from Senri, but I hope you get my point). His behaviour really drives home the fact Kosei has been dragged into this world against his will but he can't leave and he's scared. I honestly can't imagine how difficult it must have been for him to live his life while surrounded by Legacies that can literally reshape the reality he thought he knew.

I already talked about this during the speculation section of the Strange Eden Information doc but I wonder if the reason why Senri was able to sense that him and Kosei weren't alone in the aquarium way before Kosei did, is because Echoes can sense each other's presence? Because the way Oujin talked about it in Episode 9, Echoes should be able to sense other Echoes presence. Maybe the writers added this detail as a callback.

Furthermore, maybe the reason why Senri felt Rin's vibe was "off" is also due to this ability, because that was actually Rin's clone.

However, Senri did mistake Rin's presence for a Legacy. But maybe it's hard to differentiate between an Echo's and a Legacy's presence? I wouldn't be surprised if Echoes can sense Legacy presences too.

When Senri finally reveals his Echo form to Kosei and he thinks Kosei will be terrified so he tries to leave but Kosei reaches out to him because that's Senri and he has always been important to him, Echo or not.
