At this point, I don't understand how every single character can be moving forward EXCEPT for the main one!?

So I usually don’t buy into idea that Supercorp is queerbaiting. Personally, I think the vast majority of the scenes people point to are just fans seeing what they want to see – and it’s very easy to do in a show as cheesy as Supergirl, where everyone melodramatically proclaims their feelings in very heartfelt scenes. I’ve never felt that the writers were intentionally leading viewers on about their relationship possibly turning romantic. Anyone who chose to read more into that was mostly doing it to themselves.

That being said. When Kara was talking to Cat about struggling to truly be herself, and said “I’m just feeling–” and Cat interrupted with “bi-furcated?” with just a little too much emphasis on the “bi”, I literally had to pause the episode, I was laughing so hard. There is no way that one wasn’t intentional.

first they phased out the 22 episode season then they phased out the 13 episode season and now they’re phasing out the 10 episode season like can you guys go watch fucking movies or something and stop trying to “tighten” television

We need to go back to more episodes because shows can’t be action or drama all the time, there needs to be breathing room for both the audience and the characters. There need to be good filler episodes where the characters get to just have fun and develop outside of the main story. Side quests and downtime are important to storytelling. We need to see the characters be regular people with regular problems in between the big stuff.

Ok, I'm gonna say it - I think the Taylor Swift line in Ginny & Georgia is being taken out of context. It wasn't a joke and it wasn't regarded as a nice or good thing to say. It was a dumb teenager being dumb...

Anyone else not a big fan of how the biphobia storyline was handled on Grownish last night? Idk...something was just off...

I didn’t like that almost all of the characters were so quick to be jerks about the whole thing. I get that the show frames them as in the wrong for it, but having so many of them agree on the homophobia makes it seem like it’s just an easy mistake or something.

I also didn’t like that it was exclusively the black characters who said the homophobic/biphobic stuff. There is a problem of toxic masculinity in the black community, but the show really played it too lighthearted and funny, like we were supposed to be laughing in agreement and we’re supposed to be learning the lesson with the characters. Basically, they played it like they expected the audience to also have reservations about guys kissing guys casually and they thought we’d work through those feelings together. They did a similar thing with the storyline where Nomi didn’t want to date a bi man despite being bi herself.

And! I don’t like that they act like it’s a universal turnoff for women when men are bisexual.
