Once again, my post is so adults know who to avoid as they are a minor and have made multiple attempts at harassing me and others. I just finished telling a buddy about this, but I noticed something VERY interesting with Vincent when looking into his CGs. We can very clearly see that with his full moon form and his normal form, his scars travel over, like as shown here with his chest scars and others. //Also shime-strade cameo

You can see that Lycan-Vincent very obviously has a huge scar going over his left eye, the eye that Vincent covers in every CG with his hair.

My theory? Vincent either has his hair positioned very conveniently there, or he is purposefully trying to hide a scar there. If this is right, and there is a scar, it's also extremely likely that Vincent only has one eye because in the Lycan form, we only see one eye. Maybe this is a design aspect that Electric overlooked, but I doubt it because I feel like in his normal sprites, you can faintly see it hidden under the hair.

Additionally, if any of the shit I'm spouting is true, it's also very likely that he lost his eye and gained the scar either during or after the military. You can see he clearly has no scar in this old picture of him, and Vincent is also young, like probably late 20s early 30s if i had to guess, so maybe his critical wound led to his early discharge.

Even if this isn't true, I think it's very fun to think about and for now until it's either proven or disproven, which maybe it has been, it's a headcanon for me that he only has one eye and lost his eye during the military.

Edit: @ makaramiracles also informed me of ANOTHER piece of evidence, which is that in his original design Vincent wore an eye patch over said eye. This is also enforced by a death ending you can get in Lawrence's route involving Vincent drawn by Gatobob in which he wears an eye patch.

Bit of a spoiler but no one can seem to find the game, but I've posted about it on my blog. It comes with a lot of information but I can explain how he got those scars and the eye thing!

Vincent is actually Akira. In the military he had come in contact with a pack of werewolves that attacked him and his comrades. Akira gets into a fight with the leader, Olivia I think, and during said fight she ripped out his eye, chewed it up and then vomited it into his mouth.

Puke never really explained how it worked, but by ingesting her DNA his naga DNA was written over with werewolf DNA. He passed out after the battle, having taken a lot of damage, got his dog tag switched to ensure his survival ( As humans and magical creatures like him were fighting together but people like him weren't prioritized. Think of it similarly to racism towards blacks and how we didn't get to use the same water supply and all that as the white people ).

He woke up with no memory of who he was previously, and believed himself to be Vincent Metzger, while the real Vincent is dead , and got his southern twang from the doctor that helped rehabilitate him.

So yeah! You're correct, he lost his eye during the military, and it can only be assumed he was discharged after the incident! You were almost on the dot! Puke deleted everything, so I'm not sure if you can find the game again ^_^;;

If I grew up in an environment where the media I consumed as a child frequently showed healthy queer relationships, POC, better representations of disabilities, more body diversity, etc., I would have been so much happier. I would have felt so much better about myself.

My brain wasn’t fully developed. My personality was still forming. If I had exposure to media and art that was more inclusive and diverse, there’s a huge chance that I would be okay. Especially since as a child, I coped with a lot of my stress and pain by immersing myself in books or television.

I don’t understand why people don’t think fiction and media can impact reality. It’s been proven time and time again that underrepresented or negatively portrayed identities in media can lead to negative psychological outcomes. Literally, just look it up and you will see several scholarly articles and studies. Last year I took a course for my psychology major that was entirely dedicated to cultural psychology and how representation can impact cognitive development in children and adolescents.

I just don't get it. I don't understand why people are arguing something that is so easily proven wrong. I legitimately do not know what the points are that people are arguing, but it doesn't make sense.

When people say that fiction and media don't affect reality, normally we're talking about how problematic fiction, or fiction in general, doesn't affect reality on a 1:1 ratio.

Of course lack of representation is going to affect the people who watch something. When you continuously notice that people like you are either not important, pushed to the side, used for diversity, and the whole nine yards, that affects you because your brain pretty much comes to the conclusion that they don't deem you or people like you important.

Now while the fiction affected you, it didn't on a 1:1 ratio. The media didn't outright say it or maybe it even tried to hide it, but it still very much so made it's point clear.

Or more like it, the creator's point.

But in fandom, we're talking about problematic fiction. Such as, a lot of anti's will claim that because the fiction they indulged in when they were still forming and growing as a person made them think a certain way and put them in certain situations with adults that it's the fiction that did that to them and the fiction should be held accountable as should the creator of said fiction.

Now while the fiction did influence their opinions, the fiction nor the creator is at fault.

The parent's are at fault, because how neglectful must they be that instead of learning from the people around them the minor had to learn how to form an opinion based on things that don't exist? As well as not teaching their children how to safely navigate the dangers of the internet?

The person who used it to manipulate and groom that person is at fault, because they are disgusting human beings.

The fiction that was used is not at fault, because rather it existed or not, that predators would have used something else.

The author is also not at fault because all they did was explore a concept in fiction and chances are they properly tagged it too. Try as they might, controlling how that fiction is used is nearly impossible.

I like to use Ghostface as an example when I talk about this stuff.

Billy and Stu loved horror movies so much that they decided to become murders. Now the movies they watched were just people exploring a concept through fiction, but it was Billy and Stu who decided to try and recreate those fictional scenarios in real life, or as real as it could be for a horror movie 😅

Anti's will take that approach with shipping and fandom all in all. It's very black and white for them.

I don't have any pictures because I deleted the game but what had actually happened was that apparently there was a war going on involving magical people like Akira and Sano. I can't remember who it was against, but humans and magical creatures were forced to fight together.

Akira volunteers so that Sano can stay safe at home, despite Sano's disagreement ( And Puke mentioning after the game was over and done with that even if neither of them knew it, Sano would have been kept the sidelines and safe because he's a medic ). One person from each demon family had to go join the fight, think back to hownit was in Mulan and there ya have it. Oliva does show up and starts attacking people along with her pack.

She and Akira face off, and she gets the upper hand. She takes out his eye, chews it up, and then vomits it back into his mouth. Kinda like a swapping of DNA, his starts to change from Naga to Werewolf. He passes out after the battle.

Now mind you, people like Akira weren't seen as on the same level as humans, humans were pretty racist in that aspect, so while he's passed out ( and this part it kinda fuzzy in my memory ) his dog tag is switched with Vincent Metzger, and ready dead solider. If this had not been done, they would not have bothered to save Akira. Because that was the only ID on him, that's who he became.

He even gained his accent from his doctor when he woke up because he had to be taught a lot of basic functions all over again. I only found one screenshot online, I had one of the full panel that Puke had posted but I don't know where I put it but I did save their character designs when Puke first posted about the game, of course changes were made though lol

In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, someone posted a video talking about how they remember seeing NSFW work out in the open at a convention with a lot of kids at it and a bunch of people came forward and said that they had terrible experiences at a con due to this kinda stuff.

Then a bunch of self identified pro-shippers came out of the woodworks and posted videos stating that they couldn’t wait till cons reopen so they could put art in the front of their stall with themes of In*est, s*xualised minor characters, etc. With the intention of triggering minors and adults. (Here is one of the videos below)

Y’all talk about keeping your shit in adult spaces but then intentionally pull it out in cons that don’t have an 18+ restriction. Understand if you’re in an artists alley with a 18+ restriction or at an 18+ con then fine, you do what you want. However, if you go to a welcome con and intentionally put smut at the front of your stall where minors can see it, you’re disgusting.

Proshippers main ideology is that anyone can indulge in whatever fiction they’d like so long as no real person is being hurt, AND that people who don’t want to see it have every right not to, that if it even makes them a tiny bit uncomfortable that it’s reason enough to not engage or entertain.

Either way, neither party needs to justify why they do or do not indulge in something.

We believe that tagging is important, and that we keep adult things in adult spaces.

These are some of the most important things to us.

The people you see are not proship, and instead are idiots who think this is a funny joke. In all honesty, I don’t feel they’re serious, they just think this is funny or makes them edgy.

Most cons that allow minors (at least in the US, idk about cons in other countries) have something like this in their in their artist alley agreement, and if they don’t then they’re probably super sketchy and I wouldn’t recommend going to them.

If kids are afraid of going to cons then instead of feeding into their fears and telling them that the big scary proshippers are going to shove nsfw in their face you should be telling them that if they see something like that at a con they need to immediately contact the con staff. Or that they can look up the artist alley rules beforehand to make sure they don’t allow that kind of stuff. You know… Tell them how to be safe instead of trying to make them paranoid, that seems like pretty basic common sense. Trying to fearmonger and get people (especially people with PTSD) into a state of hypervigilence is a super shitty thing to do and can duck people up.

I’ve been to big popular cons and tiny lesser known cons alike as a kid over the years. (I cannot say what cons because it will reveal where I live) all of which had artist alley terms like the ones you mentioned. At almost every. Single. CON without fail I was exposed to sexual content out in the open in a vendors alley. I even have a piece of NSFW merch I was ALLOWED TO BUY because the seller didn’t bother checking my ID. (If you’re wondering, it’s a Yaoi Bookmark, it was on the table In full view and the characters on it were having s*x). Most kids DO know to report things like that and I highly encourage my followers and those reading to do this post to do so. The sad thing is, nothing ever gets done about it. Con security sucks and the usual response equates to “if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen” which is bullshit. My own father (A law enforcement officer), the man who took me to my first BIG family friendly con, Walked into the artists alley walked around for about 30 minutes and then dragged my ass RIGHT back out because of what he saw. These “safe” places aren’t actually safe places for kids and I have every right to warn others about that. This is disgusting and these proshippers are disgusting for doing it. End of story.

Do not pretend you give a shit about survivors. Do not patronize me and act like you want or know what's good for us or what would've prevented our abuse. If you don't give abusers tools and you don't leave tools for abuse out in the open, abusers will have less and less tools to abuse people. I really doubt I would've been abused if I knew I couldn't give consent and that it was inappropriate for someone seven years my senior to be attracted to me when I was twelve.
