I began watching Anthony Bourdain so long ago that I don’t really remember how long. All I remember is randomly flipping channels and stopping on a man floating down a river in Vietnam. I stopped and I watched. This guy. Something about him made me stop, watch, and listen. He was amazing. He had me hooked ever since. Anthony Bourdain took food and made us all aware that it’s more than just a basic necessity for survival. It has a heart, it has a soul, it has a story. There is history, culture, tradition, and depth behind food. No matter what country he was in, he told his stories with so much intelligence, humor, empathy, and respect. He was no food snob. A humble platter of sizzling sisig in the Philippines got as much love as anything a three-star Michelin restaurant could serve up. As early as I can remember, food has always been a passion of mine. Anthony Bourdain made me love it even more, which I never thought was possible. He made me much more curious about seeing and tasting everything in this world. Thank you for that, Mr. Bourdain. You will be deeply missed. I hope you find your peace. #ripanthonybourdain #anthonybourdain
