This is my first and last post in 7 years or so on this blog, as it has little to do with the person I am now, both in terms of aesthetic and general attitude towards life.

That being said, tumblr was, is, and will remain my preferred social media, so despite the many ways it's been butchered throughout the years, I will stay until it's completely unusable.

what’s with the donut?

good question! it’s a speck of dust which has worked its way into cassini’s narrow-angle lens! it’s a donut-shape instead of a dot because it’s out of focus. you can see some fainter dust donuts all over the image when you start to look, and some black specks toward bottom left of the top gif.

also, notice that the dust specks aren’t moving on the lens - they only jitter about here because i’ve aligned the images to keep saturn’s rings fixed. thank you for the question! regards, b.
