i owe you all an update: the muse for Kamui is dead right now, which is why I've been avoiding the blog aside from days of scrolling (among other less happy things). hopefully it'll come back sometime, but for now I suppose the blog will be on a hiatus until further notice! if you need to get a hold of me, you can send messages to this blog or my main, and i will check this blog periodically to see how you kids are all doing

The queen was pleasantly surprised when the youngling placed their petite hands upon her ones that were far larger in comparison. The stressed smile upon her lips sweetened into a more tiny and amiable one. The prince’s character was such a harsh contrast to most Nohrians.

“My dear sweet, Kamui,” an exhale escaped the prison of the equestrian’s mouth. With a gentle shake, she slid her hand free from the restraint and drew it forward to caress her nephew’s cheek. “You are far too kind for this world. You do not need to protect me though, I should be the one protecting you.”

It sank the mage’s heart to know she would only be using Kamui in the future so that Hydra would be slayed and her kingdom saved. Of course he would say that he did not mind, but it was truly selfish and something that the dynast should refrain from doing. Then again, Hydra’s lust for destruction knew no end and he would just end up destructing Nohr and Hoshido.

“Besides, you should be happy you do not have to fight. The things one observes upon the battlefield are images you can never erase from your mind.”

The innocent intentions and adamantness of the prince's words stood firm, even through the reply Shenmei gave. He was determined to make her the happiest, safest mother he could, and that was that. It was simple. He knew not of the bloodiness of battle, the decisions that would tear him apart later, the feeling of having to rip one's heart from its home for the sake of peace. He knew not of the evil in the world they lived in.

Kamui's expression did not change. He was unfazed by her words, drowning them in his purity.

"We can protect each other! I'll be strong for you, mother, no matter what happens! If I have to fight to protect those I love...I'll do it!"

Surprise came over the white blood’s face as he turned to face the one who called his name. “A-ah, Oboro, what brings you here? The celebration–oh, right. Aha…in truth, I’d forgotten…”

Kamui rubbed his neck sheepishly, after a few moments clearing his throat and clasping his hands in front of him. “But, er, I’m not busy. I was just walking through the courtyards and thinking about things. What kind of designs do you have here?”

Showing his interest, the prince glanced over, trying to catch a glimpse of the pages his little brother’s retainer held. Had she truly drawn up designs for the outfits for this celebration? Would she be making them too, for Takumi? She was always busy…but that was a bit much.

   “ You’re not busy? Good! Because I’ve got some kimono designs I’d like to show you… “ Oboro picked the top paper up, showing some messily, but crafty all the same, kimono designs. She tried her hardest to work a lot of the details into the picture – but alas, it wasn’t a big canvas to work with. The lancer wasn’t into sketching often, either, so there was no investment in anything better.

  “ Y’see… my proposition is…. “ She paused, replacing the one she showed Kamui with another one before continuing on. “ – That I wanted to create the clothes for everybody to wear. B-but of course, that’s up to you Kamui-sama. After all, my designing has got a lot of work to do; and you’ve probably got designers ready to go for these things! “

   Honestly, Oboro hadn’t even spoken to Takumi or Hinata of this yet. But the celebration was soon…and it seemed Kamui made the rules now. Oh, how she hoped he’d be on board with her plan.

Ah. These were messy, but they weren't bad, not at all. Kamui looked them over, studying the details carefully, absentmindedly bringing his finger to his chin as he thought. He hadn't even bothered to see if anyone had started working on designs for the celebration...

"These look wonderful, Oboro," he mused, smiling at her. "You seem to have put a lot of work into them. I'd love to see them made, so how would you feel if I put you in charge of the kimonos? I would ask others if they were able to help make them, of course, and give you the proper funds..."

In truth, he was almost as eager as she was to see these brought to life. Kamui smiled reassuringly after he spoke, trying to wash away any doubts or uncertainties that his response had left.

It was better someone had come to him about this, because he knew he wasn't likely to have gone to ask. Not with the dreams that had been plaguing him. He hoped his smile showed his appreciation for her offer, too.

I think you RP your muse wonderfully. It really feels like it's Kamui. He's somewhat timid, tries to be kind to others, and he's a total sweetheart. All while being torn apart from the inside, from the terrible decision of choosing a side. I'm bad at words, but I love the way you RP your muse.

The touch, so soft, of Harold’s fingers over his cheek, onto his lips, it made his heart skip a beat, made his body melt that much more against the other’s. His words, spoken so valiantly and purely, reminded Kamui of the knights in the stories he read. Those knights who protected their lovers with all of their strength, fought for them and them alone. Those knights he looked up to, the knights he yearned to be, just and chivalrous, bringers of peace and order. Those knights, knights like Harold, that he’d fallen in love with.

The prince’s lips pressed a kiss to the fingertips that rested there, eyes closing only for that moment, allowing his other senses to take in the feelings around. The warmth, the beating of Harold’s kind and gentle heart, the strength of his body and the wornness of his battle-scarred skin, hands so accustomed to helping when not holding axes and swords and shields. Holding weapons to defend. Protect.

“I know it,” he whispered, eyes opening again, taking in the light that was Harold. His lips thinned into a smile, loving, devoted, pure. “Forevermore and onward, we will be together. Though, it’s ironic.”

Kamui snaked his arms further around Harold’s torso, linking his fingers together.

“…the knight fell in love with the dragon. It’s unlike any tale I’ve read. In every story, the dragon dies from the knight’s sword. I suppose the fate that tied our lives together had different plans, and I’m grateful for it. There is no better man to be able to call my knight and my love.”

“Haha, yes, I recall now.. I was told many of those tales as a child, I always wanted to be that knight, slaying the dragon and saving the day… but it seems the only dragon I’ve slain is his heart and claimed it as my own,” He murmurs, hand pressing lightly against Kamui’s chest and feeling the rapidly beating muscle beneath.The feeling alone made his heart flutter in excitement, this closeness… things he had only dreamed about.

“I would not have it any other way,” Soft blue eyes practically smiled down at the prince as he tipped the others head up gently to kiss him fully on the lips, hands moving up his love’s side before resting on his shoulders and moving up to hold onto his cheeks, not once wanting to pull back quite yet.

Kamui melted against Harold, captured by the pure azureness of his eyes and pulled in by his kiss. He shuddered at the feeling of hands on his side, a slight gasp against the other's lips, the tightening of his fingers together. Everything here, now, felt so right.

After a few moments absorbed by the kiss, the prince pulled away, just enough so that he could look into Harold's eyes but still feel his breath on his lips. He smiled. His sadder thoughts were held back deep in his mind. He didn't want to think about them now.

"I couldn't ask for a better knight to hold my heart captive."

Someday he would have to tell. Selfishly, now, he only wanted to relish in this love, this affection he'd yearned for. It would break his heart later, but...in this moment, all was right.

— { ╰☆╮} Hinoka let out a low chuckle - even though the kitten had caused her brother pain, it was still amusing that such a tiny animal could put up such a fight. In a way it reminded her of Sakura - aside from the fact that the little princess didn’t act on her anger like that; she just looked it when she yelled at her retainers for fighting.

“She’s quite the handful, isn’t she?” the princess mused with a smile. “Why don’t we call her Nayami? It’s a word for trouble, if I remember correctly.” The princess pat the kitten’s head once more. “How’s that for a name? We can always go with something else besides Nayami. It’s just a suggestion, and you did find her after all.”

Kamui nodded, Hinoka's smile infectious, and his laugh came more readily. 'Trouble' certainly was a good name for this small little thing, and he couldn't help but reach to pet the purring kitten himself.

"Nayami is a perfect name, I wouldn't have been able to choose anything better. Besides...I'm...uhm...giving her to you. She seems to like you more anyway. I-if you're ok with that, of course..."

He could feel that he was blushing just a little bit, out of embarrassment for fumbling so much over his words. He'd even thought this whole gifting process through on his way over...

Kamui felt a gasp, toes curling, hands holding tightly to the fabric of Lazward's sleeve, pulling, the cloth held firmly in his fists. The other's shoulders seemed like a lifeline to the prince's control, rooting him here.

And then he shifted from kisses, continued with this new thing, and Kamui all but melted, a hand wandering from its place to tangle in the back of Lazward's hair. it pulled him, involuntarily, closer. He did not want his brother's retainer to escape him.

"L-Lazward--" he breathed, and he didn't remember when his eyes had closed. He couldn't remember much, his focus on this warm, tingling feeling in his belly and this wonderful sensation on his skin. He did know, however, that he was eternally grateful to his past self for deciding to change from his armor to more casual wear before Lazward had been invited to his room.
