Why did you even ask me to rp? Why even ask me back? Just to anger/upset me?
Not cool... I am beyond angry right now.

There was a sudden rush of awkward energy as Marcus settled into drawing, it began slowly eating at Bella’s core as she tried to force herself to relax and focus on the TV show she was currently watching. Usually, the silence that fell between them was comfortable… but this was different. This felt heavy, laden with unspoken questions or confrontations.
Bella didn’t like it.
“Can we agree that I will answer any questions you have as long as those answers don’t go further than you and I?” She offered quietly, after nearly a half hour of grueling silence. Honestly, she thought she’d have more control than that… her weakness was clearly what Marcus thought of her. She valued his opinion of her over anything else it seemed. Dangerous territory, all things considered.
Marcus really wasn’t fishing for anything as he was thinking it was moot point. For some reason however his very presence seemed to just make Bella seem worried what he was thinking. Though he wasn’t thinking much
“Bella, truth be told. I am not thinking much, we all have pasts were not proud of. Even I have one that I’d rather not speak of but I would if you asked me, only because its you” his words trying to explain to her without saying it that he trusted her and trusted Bennett “I want to believe you are an angel but evidence shows you must be something else. They pack up and then leave and you are able to destroy them” he spoke before going further
“I’d rather see you the way I do when I draw you, though nothing you say will change that idea. I feel like I know you more as a person then whatever lurks inside...” he finally said before growing quiet and seeming to look through his bible before pulling out a small paper with a beautiful drawing of herself looking quite angelic with his bluebirds seemingly around her before he moved to slide it towards her
Ooc: I guess everyone is gone?
Its been weeks since I got replies. Really no point to come back.... If everyone else left without warning/stopped rping
Ooc: Wow...
Tumblr has been dead for days...
Glad everyone is busy in a few days...
I know I ain't... And probably never will be...
Just me and the rabbit... Yep
She waited for a beat, letting the man pass by her, putting some distance between them before she actually got up and moved to quietly follow him down the hallway and into the bathroom. Leaning against the doorframe she watched with curious eyes as Marcus inspected his wounds. Yeah, Hell help her, she was fond of him.
“Those are riddled with chemicals” She scoffed, nose curled as his fingers wrapped around the bottle of Tylenol in the medicine cabinet. “Disgusting”. Quietly she shifted so she was beside him, leaning with her back against the sink counter. Gently her fingers swiped across his brow, eyes slightly shimmering as she put some effort into healing his wounds and soothing his headache. “The boy should be fine, by the way. He’ll probably sleep for a while, while his body heals….” Bella took a step away after a lingering moment, suddenly realizing just how close she was to him as she registered the soothing warmth & comfort that radiated from his body.
“You should sleep too… or at least let me make the coffee this time? Your pots always taste like pond water.”
Bella took no time in returning to the hotel, transporting herself there in the blink of an eye. Several hours later found Bella fresh from a hot shower. She was wearing freshly cleaned PJs, a thin strapped lace cream colored camisole and a pair of lavender colored cotton shorts. She’d ordered pizza to be delivered, and she’d just settled down in her bed with a slice as a movie began on the TV.
Shortly after she’d settled in, her ears picked up the sound of the old truck’s engine, and the sound of its door closing. While the sound would normal be a relief, confirmation that Marcus was safely returning, tonight it made her anxious. Marcus had had time to think over the events he’d witnessed, and Bella was suddenly concerned about the questions Marcus would surely have for her.
“How’s the boy?” She questioned casually as the hotel room door opened, her eyes not bothering to lift from the open pizza box in front of her. She’d eaten more slices than usual…. smiting always made her ravenous, but she’d had the forethought to indulge in the pizza shops BOGO. Leaving an entire pizza for Marcus should he want it.
As Marcus came in the door, he placed his bag down and could smell the pizza before she mentioned it “I am actually hungry for once” he spoke softly as he went to sit down and grab a slice.
“The boy is in a very scary place. I had to call in a favour from a friend who came to get him and bring him straight to the Vatican to remain in the nun’s care for awhile as he had a flight back soon to see the Pope” he spoke of that matter
Marcus didn't seem to speak of anything else. He just had his bible in hand and his bits of paper and a pen with him. As he found it therapeutic to draw what he had seen during the exorcism
fatherxmarcusxkeane:
Marcus stared at him as he was leaving and couldn’t even understand where this attitude was coming from except for the fact he hadn’t just given in to his urges.
He let Tj go and opted to just take their food to go. As he would just bring him back to the hotel and go from there as he had been nothing but good to the man to have him treat him like anything less.
Soon Marcus came out with the food and quietly got into the truck to drive back to the hotel and let Tj get his stuff. Maybe time apart would be fore the best as 4 months hadn’t changed anything between them except the kiss they shared.
The ride back to the motel was quiet. Too quiet. T.J. was looking out the window because he didn’t want to see Marcus, not even out of the corner of his eye. He was pissed but T.J. wasn’t one to argue with guys he liked. He took whatever was said and then dealt with his emotions the only way he knew how.
As soon as Marcus parked the car, T.J. was out and walking to their room. He opened the door and grabbed his bags, tossing them on the bed and stuffing his things inside. Dirty, clean, shoes, it didn’t matter. He was just headed back home anyway.
“I was going to do laundry today so you’re going to have to do that.” He tosses his backpack onto his back but before grabbing his gym bag, he grabs his phone to call an uber to take him to the nearest airport.
“You know, the collar doesn’t fit you anyway.”
Marcus could care less about laundry and the trivial things in life. All he wanted was to be left alone right now. He just sort of walked away to the furthest side of the room as Tj gathered his things to go.
As he made the remark about his collar, he wasn’t even bothered by it as he had carried it with him as a reminder but barely wore it when he worked. He was if anything God’s warrior and not the church’s.
Marcus finally moved but only to start making the crappy motel coffee as he needed a cup quite badly right now

As Tj sat there and honestly acted like it didn’t matter, nothing mattered. That pissed off Marcus more “Do me a favour Tj, and just go. This isn’t the life for you and it never was” he spoke as he knew the man would go “I’m sorry Bennett or even myself burdened you with myself and the job God chose me to do. Go enjoy your lavish lifestyle and leave me to my meager life”
He didn’t care either way at this point, sure he’d be lonely but this was the way his life was. He just couldn’t be bothered by a man who seemed to not understand him at all and accused him of pushing people away when all he did was try to pull people closer
T.J. stared. That’s all he did as Marcus spoke, he stared at him, completely incredulous to what he was hearing. Four months. Four months on the road with Marcus. Four months making sure he ate and slept. Four months of lack of sex and drugs. All for nothing. Marcus was tossing like they had just met yesterday. There were no words. None. So T.J. just stood up and reached into his pocket for some cash, tossing it on the table to cover for the meal he wouldn’t be eating, and Marcus’s. “I’ll meet you at the motel so I can grab my shit and go.” T.J. had stuff in Marcus’s car and stuff at the motel. He wasn’t just going to leave without his clothes. “Enjoy your food, asshole.”

Marcus ordered light as he had egg whites with whole wheat toast and a slight bit of bacon and just more coffee. He seemed angry by the way TJ took how he was and couldn;t understand what he wanted from him.
“What do you want from me Tj? To constantly stroke your ego? To tell you I need you constantly when I don;t even know what the hell I want or need in this world besides the fact that someone understands this life and how much it means to me? “ He was angry but he wasn’t raising his voice yet
He was angry because as much as this wasn’t goodbye between them, it sure was feeling like it was because of the constant pushing and prodding on Tj’s part like he was poking a bee’s nest and not trying to get to know him for who he thought he was
“I want nothing from you.” Said T.J. in a calm manner although he knew Marcus was anything but calm. He leaned back in his seat, his cup of coffee on the table and his pianist fingers wrapped around it. It was warm; felt nice. T.J. wasn’t even looking at Marcus. “But for what it’s worth, you can have anything you want from me.” Another one sided relationship but what else was new? T.J. pat the pockets of his leather jacket, searching for his cigarettes when he remembered he was all out and muttered something under his breath about how they should have stopped at a gas station first.
As Tj sat there and honestly acted like it didn't matter, nothing mattered. That pissed off Marcus more “Do me a favour Tj, and just go. Marcus seemed to make a noise when Tj mentioned he wasn’t the only exorcist. That might be true but he was the best at what he did and nobody could tell him any different.
“I am here TJ, I have always been here. I just have a hard time accepting what I alone want or need.” a first honest answer in awhile from him as was true. He knew what made him happy but he argued with his own self about wanting it
“I am try the best I can to allow you in. Its not going to happen over night” Marcus reminded him even though its been four months but really this has been the first they honestly spoke about having the same feelings for one another
The waitress didn’t seem to notice they were having an intense conversation because she walked right up to them to take their order. T.J. handed her his menu. “Scrambled, bacon and toast.” Keeping it simple. He really wanted the pancakes but T.J. grew up in the spotlight and old habits are hard to shake. Pancakes would be too much and he didn’t want to gain weight. He didn’t work out so it was extra hard for him to keep his body in shape. “And I’ll have a diet soda.” She wrote it down and turned to Marcus.
While the waitress took Marcus’s order, T.J. sipped his coffee. It was better than the one at the motel but definitely not his precious Starbucks. He couldn’t wait till they were out in the city. He wasn’t going to say anything though. He was already pushing his luck with the man sitting across from him.
“Well, I’m backin’ off.” Said T.J. matter of a factly. “I won’t ask anymore intrusive questions and I won’t suggest anything. You want something you can ignore it or go for it.” He shrugs his shoulders and takes another sip of coffee. Like the kiss Marcus gave him the day before, or the one earlier this morning. T.J. wasn’t going to make any moves. He wasn’t going to tempt the poor man who seemed to be struggling with every aspect of his life except his work.
Marcus ordered light as he had egg whites with whole wheat toast and a slight bit of bacon and just more coffee. He seemed angry by the way Tj took how he was and couldn;t understand what he wanted from him.

Marcus seemed to sigh because this sounded like the talk though Tj insisted it wasn’t the talk “there isn’t much of my life thats interesting enough to go on about… ” he seemed to insist as he got his menu from the waitress.
There was silence now as they both decided on what to eat and Marcus was looking at the more healthier options then the deeply greasy ones.
“God trusted me with a job. I have seen the good and the bad of it. Watched people die and be born again. Would God be angry with me having a life outside it? I don’t know. But I do know they would have to understand this is a very large part of my life… ” he spoke matter-of-factly
“No, Marcus. This is your life. And I have a feeling that the people that walked out wasn’t because they couldn’t hack it but because you wouldn’t let them in.”
That’s how T.J. felt anyway. Like he was trying so hard to get to know the man behind the collar, behind the latin and behind the troubled past but whenever he got close, walls went up and shut him out.
“I like you. Even if sex isn’t an option and even if we’ll be drinking pond water coffee for the rest of our lives. But it can’t be all be exorcisms. You’re not the only exorcist in the world.”
He closes his menu and sets it aside, reaching for his cup of coffee. “I need you too, you know.”

“You should sleep too… or at least let me make the coffee this time? Your pots always taste like pond water.”
Marcus couldn’t be bothered by what Bella said as he just needed the pain in his head to go. His eyes watched her as she moved closer and touched him. He sort of smiled at her as she was actually quite fond of him thought she’d never speak it out loud, but her actions spoke louder regardless.
As she spoke of the boy, he just nodded as he was going to for now chalk this up to God’s intervention until told differently. As their eyes met, he sort of smirked “Pond water?” he questioned and started to chuckle “I am not resting Bella, but I will let you make the coffee if it makes you happy…” he spoke softly and started to leave the room muttering how his head felt slightly better as he figured all she did was check his wounds
Bella’s eyes rolled gently as Marcus left the room, the man didn’t seem to have a clue that she’d soothed his headache and healed his wounds. “Mortals” she sighed, pushing off the counter and moving into the kitchen to brew them both some coffee.
Bella didn’t ever deal with this part, the aftermath of the ordeal. The mortal awakening, questioning things, dealing with the fear and trauma of what had occurred. She tended to leave, which is exactly what she had settled on doing as she poured Marcus a cup of coffee into a mug and hers into a ToGo cup. After all, she didn’t need to hide from Marcus anymore, she could pop in and out as she pleased she supposed. Though if she was honest with herself she was probably pushing things too far now.
“I’m gonna head to the hotel” she offered, setting Marcus’ cup down on the coffee table and moving quickly to grab her bag from the couch beside where he sat. “Let you deal with that…”Bella’s hands gestured to the bedroom where the mortal was beginning to stir “I’ll see you when you’re done”
As Bella came towards him and placed the cup down, he realized this was the part that she left and he dealt with on his own. He nodded his head and took his cup and started to stand “Give me a few hours and I will see you then” he spoke softly as he was slowly enjoying his coffee and walking towards where the woom was.
Once he heard the door shut behind her, he was going to check on the man who was calling out for him. Placing his mug down he went to grab the man a glass of water and start the deep talk of exactly what went on for the past two weeks and what would go on from here on in to remain safe.

fatherxmarcusxkeane:
Marcus slowly showed Tj his hand and the circle tattoo he had near his thumb “That’s my gun tattoo to always remind me that I am the church’s weapon…” he spoke softly as this was after all his life.
“I don’t want you to leave me alone Tj. Thats what happens though. People come and they go because they don;t understand that this is my life, its all I’ve ever know” he spoke softly as he knew this fact hurt Tj
“Don’t fucking do that.” T.J. lifted his glance from the coffee and towards Marcus as he spoke. “This isn’t about me walking away because I don’t understand. This is me asking if that’s what you want since you won’t fucking open up to me.” They made a little bit of progress and then jump ten spaces back. People would say T.J. was bad but Father Marcus was a million times worse.
The waitress returned with their menus and T.J. looked over the many options just to keep himself busy because he already knew exactly what he was ordering. He was quiet for a bit, letting Marcus go over the menu but T.J. could only be quiet for so long.
“So does free will not apply to you? Are you above that shit? Would God hate you if you did something for you and not him for once in your life?”
Marcus seemed to sigh because this sounded like the talk though Tj insisted it wasn't the talk "there isn't much of my life thats interesting enough to go on about... " he seemed to insist as he got his menu from the waitress.
There was silence now as they both decided on what to eat and Marcus was looking at the more healthier options then the deeply greasy ones.
"God trusted me with a job. I have seen the good and the bad of it. Watched people die and be born again. Would God be angry with me having a life outside it? I don't know. But I do know they would have to understand this is a very large part of my life... " he spoke matter-of-factly
fatherxmarcusxkeane:
Marcus too had ordered a cup of coffee and was about to ask Tj why the silence, until he started to finally speak. Taking a breath he just sort of shrugged as he never was good at speaking his mind unless of course he was angry.
“Tj, this is all I know. I was sold to the Vatican at the age of 12, and in seeing the face of God, the church became the gun and I was the bullet. I’ve never known a normal life or a normal conversation” he spoke honestly, as this was the life Marcus was basically born into. He was however willing to be as honest as he could be, if this was what Tj wanted “
“So that’s it? You’re a weapon?” Instead of drawing T.J. closer to God, knowing things about Marcus and why he was the way he was made him dislike religion even more. Marcus didn’t seem to even want to try to be normal or know what normalcy was. Then whenever T.J. tried to bring out the humanity in him, he felt guilty because he felt like he was tempting him and pulling him away from God. That wasn’t T.J.’s intention.
The cup of coffee is set on the table, both of T.J.’s hands around it as he is staring down at the liquid inside. It’s black coffee, not his usual but just what he needed.
“Do you want me to leave you alone?”
Marcus slowly showed Tj his hand and the circle tattoo he had near his thumb “That's my gun tattoo to always remind me that I am the church’s weapon...” he spoke softly as this was after all his life.
“I don't want you to leave me alone Tj. Thats what happens though. People come and they go because they don;t understand that this is my life, its all I’ve ever know” he spoke softly as he knew this fact hurt Tj
fatherxmarcusxkeane:
Marcus seemed to roll his eyes at the need for cigarettes. It was a bad habit but then again everyone, even priests had their transgressions. He made sure the door closed behind them and went towards the truck to get inside and start it.
As Tj commented about the good character doesn’t always mean a good person, he replied “I like to believe that God places people in other people’s lives for a reason. Perhaps seeing what you did was good for you, maybe it wasn’t. A part of me feels you needed to understand my work…” he shrugged and got ready to drive towards the diner once Tj was completely inside the truck.
Now at that, T.J. didn’t say anything. It was shocking, to say the least, because T.J. always had something to say. He just got in the passenger’s seat and put on his seat belt, then he just stared at Marcus. T.J. just didn’t understand how someone could have so much faith. Marcus had said God had spoken to him so maybe it was different for him. Maybe for Marcus it wasn’t like it was for T.J. For T.J. to believe in God would require him to believed in some invisible being who seemed to have it out for him.
T.J. didn’t speak the rest of the ride to the diner. He didn’t even speak when they got out. It wasn’t until they were seated, and until after the waitress had brought T.J. his first cup of coffee, that he spoke again.
“You said you would talk to me but you haven’t given me a single straight answer. I know it’s a preacher / Bible / Father thing but can you set that aside for a minute and talk to me like a regular guy?”
