sometimes im forced to remember that ptsdee actually happened. like mac actually made Those faces at dennis and dennis really touched him like That even though part of it was a dream. i feel like even though we collectively talk about that scene a lot it still isnt enough and it never will be. every time i see pics/gifs of macs face when dennis is about to kiss him i end up staring at it for 5 minutes in disbelief

mac rlly discovering his gay feelings through a dream about being seduced and kissed and that dream not even being That Far Off from reality…den rlly was showing off and wanted attention but he closed the literal closet doors on mac bc any more is too much. mac rlly needed him to be able to look at him in the eyes and properly not be afraid but dennis was not at all in that place yet. and then dennis becoming said stripper to attempt to deal with his trauma by maintaining power against the women in his past but ultimately failing bc this is the first time he’s sorta faced it and he’s never truly dealt with it so ofc he’s gonna break down, and then seeing the soldier stripper doing great by getting a lot of attention yet also being put on a pedestal by the women (therefore in den’s mind, taking the power back) And Also flirting with mac successfully without feeling guilt/shame…………..it rlly makes you think….

thinking about how dennis loves a good screaming rage and you could count on one hand the number of times he’s forcibly calmed himself down from one. also how in dines out he’s visibly trying not to make a scene about the chair AND he doesn’t ever ask mac to switch like he normally would. also how when they’re at dave & busters arguing about TGIF dennis stops himself from yelling about loyalty cards so they can go back to enjoying their dinner and scheming. basically thinking about how dennis never tries to calm himself down, and rarely knows how even when he wants to, but he successfully does it multiple times to make sure his dates w mac run smoothly and that above all mac’s having a good time, even if he himself is not.
