one of the things that gets me the most when you put all these scenes together is how ruben is clearly so turned on hearing niall describe how ruben makes him feel - he was spot on in the hospital scene, he's the muse, just a smile from him gives niall all the energy he needs, ruben is a god to niall and ruben is addicted to the way that niall is addicted to him.

we go from niall describing this to him, ruben's interested "oh yeah?" straight into ruben toying with him sexually, pulling at his kilt and calling him gorgeous, playing in to what he now understands to be the way that niall has felt about him all along. their relationship always was and was never going to be sexual, both at the same time.
