Because I can’t stop myself from rambling I’m putting my own theories/potential answers for these under the cut
1. I think the point of the dinner scene with the two other copies (the man in the wheelchair and the man sitting at the table) was to show that it could be anyone in close proximity to an opening to the Backrooms. (I can’t remember clearly, but I’m pretty sure Clark says something about “there’s random people out there, in here” or something to that effect)
^ The only thing I can think of to support this is the fact that the entity we see at the beginning of the movie is also Clark’s copy. We don’t know when this takes place but I think it’s safe to assume it is before Clark discovers the Backrooms, as the passage the worker blocked off in the past was still there by the time he arrived, meaning that it was actively pulling information from his store before he had entered. They also could’ve used Captain Clark as a substitution hoping that people wouldn’t slow down the clip to check, but I got a pretty obvious screenshot of his pegleg.
2. I don’t think there’s any confirmed answer to this but in my opinion it would rationalise the fact that Clark’s copy bled once Mary beat him up. It’s my interpretation that the longer people spend in the Backrooms, the more it is able to refine its creations (hence why the other copies only had memory foam).
3. I think Clark’s copy is so violent because it is a manifestation of the worst parts of himself — his hubris, his abuse, all of that. Because the Backrooms can’t copy something 1x1, I think it exacerbated his most common behaviours. (I also saw another theory that the Backrooms made the copy when his chair broke while filming the ad, during which he snapped at Kat and Bobby helping him. Obviously no proof for that except for the copies of the furniture we see later on). He seems overly defensive over the fact that it is his house, so I assume he actually was kicked out and his pride is wounded over it. The last part is up to interpretation but it seems plausible there could’ve been a physical altercation with his wife as well considering how he acted towards the copy resembling her
4. I can imagine he actually was, but he was also far beyond insane at that point and I doubt it wouldn’t be without extremely negative side effects. I also don’t know if it was implied he also ate Kat or what, but I don’t know what else he would be eating in the Backrooms otherwise. Seagulls maybe?
