ok i was thinking about how other mcsr categories would be portrayed in hfhvau. i think rsg would be like relief for natural disasters, general disaster aid, etc (because rsg is like pve vs pvp)
then i think aa would be like. special ops. long missions with very specific targets, and it’s a very small specialized team
specifically thinking about this though i started thinking about feinberg. because obviously he’s the aa guy. and i think he would be a retired hero from the aa team. he was the top hero from the team until he got injured/overused his powers (i was thinking lightning powers for obvious reasons) and was forced to retire kind of against his will. his powers are basically non-functional now and he’s kind of secretly bitter that he’s not able to be a hero anymore.
possibly insane but i think it would be cool for civberg to have a more personal connection to heroes beyond just couri

He rubbed his eyes for what felt like the millionth time, but the message didn't disappear. He was definitely holding his phone, unlike the many times in his head he had imagined this scenario. He wasn't waking up from a pleasant dream before sobbing to himself, with no one else beside him.
It was real.
Fuck, it was real.
Instantly, he expected tears coming down his face with a feeling of relief, but all he got was a choked-out sob and a shaky inhale. He lifted his hands to his face, covering his eyes.
There were a lot of thoughts. Too many, honestly. Most of them probably boiled down to how, but he didn't care. Hax is in reach. They can reunite. They can be free and kill the heroes and move on from all this and Mongey won't ever haunt him again and maybe they could save some of the other villains turned heroes and they could all act like nothing happened. And maybe, just maybe-
Rowl blinked.
Then, he laughed.
Laughed at the fantasy in his head that he kept getting lost in. That spark of hope he holds onto. That everything will fix itself. He hates himself the thought so much.
He collapsed onto the couch, running a hand through his hair, sighing. He knew he had to be at least somewhat realistic. Which meant dealing with the first problem.
What if this is a trap.
Rowl wanted to shove the thought to the back of his brain, so far away he would never have to think the idea again. Even considering the idea felt like a jinx, as if it cursed the message and its intentions. He didn't want to believe that Hax would do this. He wouldn't manipulate him like this. If he was still brainwashed, surely he wouldn't be lucid enough to concoct a plan like this. From the rare occasions they saw each other, he's sure Hax recognizes him. He still remembers. He's still fighting. He wouldn't allow this to be sent by anyone. He... he knew that.
Did he?
No, Rowl didn't know much anymore. He has no idea what they're doing with Hax. He has no idea how to deal with his own problems, basically coasting off of Couriway for a majority of the time. He has no idea how to deal with Mongey and why he can't kill him. He has no idea what's going on with Couriway and Fein and why Couri talk about Fein like that.
Fuck, he was so useless. He could be doing anything, but he can't won't do it. Why was he still here, grieving his own thoughts when Hax was out there experiencing shit ten times worse.
He stood up, looking out the window of Couri's apartment.
Long fall, huh.
He looked at the message again.

He shook his head, moving it away from the window and letting it settle back onto the couch cushion. Rowl wasn't stupid. He knew there were going to be many consequences with joining Hax. Maybe he'd end up just as bad as Hax.
Maybe that wouldn't be so bad. Suffering together instead of alone.
But he knew that it could only be him that helped Hax.
